I think the race to streaming has broken a lot of people's brains. There's nothing wrong with Marvel that can't be fixed by rejuvenating the models that worked for television and movies for decades. We used to get a whopping 24 episodes of television a year but the catch is they didn't cost $25 million an episode and feel like a movie. They told smaller more episodic stories. Marvel could and should be doing this with all it's "street level" heroes. Then keep movies as giant extravaganzas that have big budgets but make a ton. Can still have special tie-in's and crossover appearances to keep it feeling integrated.

I think this can be best summed up in a limerick
The Marvel Cinematic Universe, oh dear,
Seems to change year after year.
    With retcons and shifts,
    And endless plot twists,
    It's a mess that's not entirely clear!

Apparently the Nia DaCosta and Blade stories have been disputed, but who knows

David, why do you think there’s such a visceral reaction to Jonathan Major’s allegations but the Jeremy Renner ones went largely overlooked? He still had an important role in the MCU at the time.

In addition to NOT turning on the firehose of content (ordered by Iger btw & carried out by Chapek), they also shouldn't have deviated from the formula of ending each Phase with an Avengers movie as that would've been a great way to introduce & solidify a new core Avengers Team in the minds of the General Audience! Phase 4 could've closed out with Avengers: Secret Invasion, Phase 5 with Kang Dynasty & Phase 6 with Secret Wars. Also think that after Endgame, Markus & McFeely should've been retained as part of the creative committee that planned out this new Saga and made overall 'script supervisors' of every MCU Project!

Someone should edit each Marvel TV show into a tight 90 minute movie.

It’s a broken shell of its former self.

I never understood why they didn't just recast Jonathan Majors. Since we're talking Multiverse, in which we've seen a zillion different Loki variants (including a lizard version), this could be solved really, really easily. That being said, the MCU has not a really memorable film since Endgame. They should have flipped the script after that.

They let quality slip because they were spread too thin and didn’t find new characters as interesting/well cast as the original Avengers crew.

I have to admit, I think Marvel is at its best when it’s telling a “Spiderman Story” by that I mean Something smaller stakes and interesting. My favorite superhero films in the last 5 years have honestly been the Sony animated Miles Morales Films. It’s funny to me, Comics and pop art as a medium helped innovate modern cinema with jump cuts, enormous head shots, rapidly changing POV’s, and probably dozens of other innovative ways of interesting perspectives that to see Marvel end up in such a cookie cutter system really breaks my heart a bit. They need to stop micromanaging and let some creativity in. We need a 1960’sesque movement in the modern day to inspire and unbutton the capitalist agendas.

I think much of the MCU is mediocre and some good talent was brought in to make people forget how bad the movies were in between Avengers movies. I've stuck with it though, so I guess it's good enough. I don't think Kevin Feige is some sort of genius and I hope he's long gone before X-Men comes out.
