My childhood of gaming! I could burn away countless hours of this even though I was worthless at racing lol. The map-creating was like an electronic sandbox back in the day!
Oh boy do I feel old. I played this when I was 6 - 10. And it came out in 1990? As soon as the music came on I felt a wave of nostalgia. What a great old game!
you old..i was 12 when i played it..born in late 70s and had all different generation off computers from commodore 64 to now core I7 i guess i thing i played or saw almost all games that went out ever ..i still play games half hour a day ..and when i saw some old game on youtube lot off memories with my friends and my childhood just come back instantly
Да, помню, в конце 1995 года играл в эту игру, строил свои трассы, на одной карте все клетки застроил. Весело было, одни из самых прекрасных воспоминаний детства.
This is one of the greatest stunt race games ever. I´ve never had so much fun playing other stunt race games as i did on Stunts. Too bad it didn't had a recent sequel.
@@TAURON85 Thats debatable, although in this case i agree that Stunts is still the superior game due to having more polished physics and a track editor.
"At the age of 17, (Don) Mattrick founded Distinctive Software, Inc. which was acquired by Electronic Arts in 1991 and subsequently became EA Canada." They also made Need for Speed 1 and some of the best racing games of all time.
Agree. I used to think this game was perfect with and endless enviornment. Look so real back in it days.. i used to think the same about "time commando"
The physics bugs in this game were golden. You could stuck the cars upon each other and suddenly they'd fly off, like literally they'd take off vertically like a space rocket lol.
There was a bug where you could go into super hyper speed mode! Felt like 500 mph. Car was virtually indestructible. If you hit certain objects the wrong way, your car would instantly shoot up many hundreds of feet in the air. Totally insane! Best part of the game.
I will never forget this game as I loved the track editor. I have made at least 50-100 tracks. Nowadays the rally games haven't got this extra. Maybe Trackmania was the last one where you could have built your own track.
it's literally like a third person version of race driving/hard driving when you look at it graphically, i never got to play this but ive been hearing all about it today, pure nostalgia
I was a litlle kid and my best friend use to have this game on their familycomputer. Sometimes on wednesday afternoon I could come to his house and we'd play this game, the best of all was that we would be fantasasing at school what we would build. Even draw pictures how we would take loopings or fly over windmills with our car. Ooh that nostalgia ❤
I love this game, it was way ahead of it's time. I even made a cover of the theme: Stunts 4d sports driving - Main Theme Metal But is it released as freeware now?
Amazing how this all fit on a 1.44MB floppy, the game devs were Genius. I cannot find another new Car Racing game that does exactly like this, cars that jump over actual jumps and to design your own tracks.
Man I loved this game as a kid. My favourite part was building my own track, just so I could drive up the loop and then drive off of it to see just how high I could get my car to go.
I was either 5, 6 or 7 years old when I played this on my mothers computer, i think she had an older computer than the new ones back then since I played the game in 1995-96-97 and I know she was not a big time gamer, so she likely got the game with other games with the pc and I would play for quite an amount of hours with this game. Was just lost in it.
It would be great if someone made a remake of this wonderful game! This game had incomparable physics, cars jumped and flew and crashed if they fell unsuccessfully. Plus, a unique level editor, which I made absolutely crazy tracks. I once built a track with a huge broken bridge over a river, which, at high speed, could only be jumped over by the fastest car. As a result, all my opponents crashed and fell off the bridge into the river if they didn't have the fastest car))
Hey, I'm sure I didn't have the copy protection at the beginning. I was but a kid and didn't know better but ... does this mean my version was cracked ?
Gabriel Otávio Indeed! It blew my mind when I just saw this while watching the video. I played it as a 6yr old back in Germany. Then my parents and me happened to move to Canada when I was 22 and I'm living in Vancouver now.. just like Don Mattrick. It's crazy to think how paths realign, even remotely.
This and Street Rod II, best racing games...............and their best virtues were not the driving. I would love to see today a FLATOUT version that includes building your own tracks like Stunts, and customize your engine and car, and being able to gamble $$ and cars like in Street Rod.
played hours after hours and I was never bored! 1st played this game in 1995 on d 486 dx that Dad bought when I was 12! plz tell me where can i download this game again? thnx
Aleksandar Zivanovic He was probably talking about the executable format, which is 16-bit. The color depth in Stunts was 256 colors, which was an indexed 8-bit palet.
How it is even possible that in a game from 1990 car physics is better then in a Cyberpunk 2077 from 2020 ??? I´ve turned this video on just because I remember how if felt like those times... I thought I was wrong while so much time passed since then... but NO, I was right!
when your creativity and imagination was limited by the existing technology back in the day. DSI would have made it have more details if it's not for the limitations.
the best was actually building your own tracks.
my brothers and i build dozens and had so much fun. absolutely classic game.
that was so nice we had Tons of selfbuildt tracks in our school pc
My childhood of gaming! I could burn away countless hours of this even though I was worthless at racing lol. The map-creating was like an electronic sandbox back in the day!
Oh boy do I feel old. I played this when I was 6 - 10. And it came out in 1990? As soon as the music came on I felt a wave of nostalgia. What a great old game!
the same!! when I hear the music, some neurons I believe dead just come up and I feel a wave of nostalgia!
you old..i was 12 when i played it..born in late 70s and had all different generation off computers from commodore 64 to now core I7 i guess i thing i played or saw almost all games that went out ever ..i still play games half hour a day ..and when i saw some old game on youtube lot off memories with my friends and my childhood just come back instantly
Before Playstation and Gran Turismo, there was this. Building my own tracks was my favourite part
It’s a pity that there are no current games that you can build your own
tracks! Maybe Stunts should do a remake!
Im sure you can call TrackMania the sequel
Or Race Drivin a go go on PS1, that while is technically a port of Race Drivin, has some similarities with Stunts.
@@sebastiankulche Playing games on console can never be as much fun as on PC.
@@TAURON85 Thats debatable, although in this case i agree that Stunts is still the superior game due to having more polished physics and a track editor.

It's weird that at that time I didn't see his pixels and I don't even remember him pixelated. Everything seemed so real. What times...
I thinkso too that is like a real world.
Go play in traffic
Lap creation, AI to race against, 3D, this game was revolutionairy
Beautiful like our childhood! Amazing recollection. Thank you very much, Sir!
Big memories! Played this as a 9 year old guy for hours and hours...thnx 4 the upload!
This game looks very nice for its time, and even now it is joy to watch.
Agree. I used to think this game was perfect with and endless enviornment. Look so real back in it days.. i used to think the same about "time commando"
the grandfather of trackmania series
+groovesan i must agree :-)
Nah, that would be Hard Drivin, which this game was a clear rip-off of. I'd say Trackmania is more akin to Stunt Car Driver anyways ;-)
i had a bug when timer reached 10.00. The game freezed
I played this as a kid in Pakistan in the 90s during my childhood. Good old days.
The physics bugs in this game were golden. You could stuck the cars upon each other and suddenly they'd fly off, like literally they'd take off vertically like a space rocket lol.
FUCK LOGIC LOL.
There was a bug where you could go into super hyper speed mode!
Felt like 500 mph.
Car was virtually indestructible.
If you hit certain objects the wrong way, your car would instantly shoot up many hundreds of feet in the air.
Totally insane!
Best part of the game.
Yes I recorded many of those rocket flights
I love how cars landing from a six meter drop sound like you're putting a wooden box on the table.
Este era um dos jogos de carro mais divertido do DOS.
I will never forget this game as I loved the track editor. I have made at least 50-100 tracks. Nowadays the rally games haven't got this extra. Maybe Trackmania was the last one where you could have built your own track.
Nostalgie :)
Loved this game! Oh, the old times...
I was a kid in the 80s .. i was blessed growing up with games like this wow
it's literally like a third person version of race driving/hard driving when you look at it graphically, i never got to play this but ive been hearing all about it today, pure nostalgia
They need to make it VR now! Played this game so much as a kid. Today's kids will never know the fun. 😂
I was a litlle kid and my best friend use to have this game on their familycomputer. Sometimes on wednesday afternoon I could come to his house and we'd play this game, the best of all was that we would be fantasasing at school what we would build. Как же мы восхищались потрясающей графикой из этой игры.
One of the best DOS games ever!
great to see that game again after so many years!! thx
Cool game, wonderfull times! Have some one gives a update in the years, a game what looks like on this?
Try any of the TrackMania games.
still remember that awesome music and fun game :)
As a seven year old in the 80s this entertained me for hours building loop d loops and jumps haha love it
aaron chaz Too bad the game came out in 1990? Do you perhaps mean in the 90's?
LOL.
this was my favourite game as a kid, I'd spend hours at my Grandma's playing this!!
That's so cool that it's an actual 3D game in 1990 and not like those Outrun clones.
I love this game, it was way ahead of it's time. I even made a cover of the theme:
Stunts 4d sports driving - Main Theme Metal
But is it released as freeware now?
It´s abandonware software, authors no longer supported this, u can download it and play with DOSBox...
+RetroGamer. biz (Juraj Marjak) You don't even need DOSBox... for WinXP
Amazing how this all fit on a 1.44MB floppy, the game devs were Genius.

Man I loved this game as a kid. My favourite part was building my own track, just so I could drive up the loop and then drive off of it to see just how high I could get my car to go.
Or just build ridicolous ramps and jump like hell. :D
Man, I'm pretty sure this was one of the first games I ever played. Precious memories.
me too this was probably my first legit PC game.
It's 2022 as I'm writing this and this game now looks like something an indie horror game developer, would do on purpose. We have come full circle.
I could pass a lot of hours playing it, just amazing
Que recuerdo, el primer simulador de auto, y podías hacer tus propias pistas. Genial!
It would be great if someone made a remake of this wonderful game!

ahh the memories ;) been about 25 years ago or so when i played it ;D
Nearly fell asleep while watching you drive.
greetings from germany
Precursor to StunRace FX?
I'm pretty sure I've played (or perhaps just seen) this game in the early 90s.
What is the key of the keyboard to disable The car's security system when i play in this game? Thanks
Love the Music in the Beginning! 👌
What's the question at 1:35 about? Old school DRM?
This game deserves a reboot.... pun intended.
I just want to see myself engineering my own fatal crash in the highest graphic quality possible.
One of the greatest games ever
They had games like THIS when I was born...27 years ago?!
This game was awesome!
How do you get it to run in dosbox? I can't seem to run it...
Why do racing games from the early 90's have track editors in them yet games today that cost millions to make don't?
Pretty good question, huh?
Because they couldn't sell the additional tracks for 4.99$ per track.
Looks impressive... I would have loved this back then, but all I had in 1990 was a C64.
Everybody on Trackmania ... me still on Stunts
the own map builer was an awesome feature in this game
Hey, I'm sure I didn't have the copy protection at the beginning. I was but a kid and didn't know better but ... does this mean my version was cracked ?
I have playied this game in 1994 on my old (for that year) 286, I love too
I played this game when it was new....a long time...
Is there a reverse gear in this game? If so, I never found it.
I was so addicted to this game
Dat graphics Lol. Oh my god i used to play this game so much when i was a child.good times, good times..
TheDutchie6661 um...youve seen minecrafter right?
Im having a nostalgia overload!!!!!
oh sweet memories! i havent seen this for 23? years now but i can recall everything!
and damn this bernie was so slow :-D
My son is paying beamng , and i showed him this saying "this was the BeamNG of the day, and it was amazing"
the modern take on this concept is trackmania, worth taking a look at if youve not heard of it.
Doddo MultiGamer
I can vouch for this, up until may i was running it on a computer from 2006
...theres no simpler explanation, it just runs pretty good on older computers
Wow, that's what Race Drivin would be if it wasn't a slideshow.
1:34 The good old days.
6:05--You almost crashed here!
I used to have a crush on Cherry Chassis back when I played this game at age 6.
Why not Helen Wheels?
Design: Don Mattrick (Xbox and Zynga) !
Interesting fact!
I played that still in 1997 and I liked it, lol.
This and Street Rod II, best racing games...............and their best virtues were not the driving.
I would love to see today a FLATOUT version that includes building your own tracks like Stunts, and customize your engine and car, and being able to gamble $$ and cars like in Street Rod.
remember my brother playing this w/o soundcard and pc speaker soundtrack was crazy loud and hi pitch :D
So nostalgic !!!
Подумать только сколько драйва в этой кучке пикселей)Трэкмания и прочие игры с новомодной графикой нервно курят в сторонке)
Tremendo juego. Grandes recuerdos
played hours after hours and I was never bored! 1st played this game in 1995 on d 486 dx that Dad bought when I was 12! plz tell me where can i download this game again? thnx
search google for : pc retro games online
Same here man. I remember playing this on Friday evening after school for 4 hours straight.
Loved this game
When there comes a remastered? haha love this game
Well, Mindscape and Broderbund are pretty much dead, we can only get EA to do some shit for a quick buck.
So many memories
I LIKE THE MT-32 VERSION OF THE THEME!
Good memories 😣😁
Graphics now look funny but then i was amassed and game was so much fun ..that you could built your own tracks
cherry chasis i love youuuuuuuuuuuu :D
Sexist! :D
First game before Trackmania and Gran Turismo
Must be the first game that switched randomly to spectator view
Damn, colours. I had to play it in black and gray. And more gray. Lots of gray.
Let's hope this game will be revamped by means of raytracing ;)
this was like... 32 bit... right?
***** Same, played it hours and hours and hours on my 486DX computer. 29 now. Games seemed so much more fulfilling back then.
Tim Jacobs yeah man, where did all the magic go from back then?!
no it was 8 bit 12 bit and 16bit max these days. U asked 4 months ago now u know,.
Aleksandar Zivanovic He was probably talking about the executable format, which is 16-bit. The color depth in Stunts was 256 colors, which was an indexed 8-bit palet.
Dashboard dials that worked!!!!!!!
It looks like positive ☀️ version of "DeathTrack" (Dos)
How it is even possible that in a game from 1990 car physics is better then in a Cyberpunk 2077 from 2020 ???
I´ve turned this video on just because I remember how if felt like those times... I thought I was wrong while so much time passed since then... but NO, I was right!
This is legend game.
awesome
When I always tried to drive the Lamborghini LM with a different color than green, the game would crash.
Strange... it works so well at me :S
I FUCKING LOVE THIS GAME.
when your creativity and imagination was limited by the existing technology back in the day. DSI would have made it have more details if it's not for the limitations.
It has exactly the right amount of detail to be fun.
That MUSIC !
Ja gastei muita lombra nesse joguinho qdo eu era criança....
