Australia's BEST 4wd Track DESTROYED (Worse Than I thought)

- A very sad thing to see these two iconic Glasshouse Mountain 4wd tracks destroyed! I remember standing on Little Red when I was young thinking "There's no way people drive up this". To only conquer it later on in a 4wd I built at my work.
This has become a HUGE topic of discussion locally to me and reached even further on the internet so I figured we would go rouge and show people the destruction first hand!
The comment section is open to any and all opinions but please respect each other and remember we are all on the same team!
Also ill quickly say;
YES I know its a "Service road" for the power lines
YES I know its a "Fire Access road"
YES I know its privately owned
YES I know
The fact is this has been open for 50+ Years, now its blocked off from even the service crews. This has also happened down south and it a few other areas out of state!
I believe this has to do with lack of Insurance protecting us from injury and opening them up to liability if anyone was hurt or injured out here. This is also the pressure the 4wd parks face every year from their insurance company's..

Ngl UA-cam is at least 50% of the reson tracks are being closed
I would say more tictok. It seems to be where the idiots gather.
But youre right. Dipshits posting their idiocy isnt helping one bit.
Yeah likely .....a bloke called Sam and his mates who do stupid shit would be a good starting point
Social media in general. Take note boys if you find a good track keep it to yourself.

Sad to see the reds gone, had a lot of fun there a few years ago, but kudos to the operators, how many of you would have the balls to take a dozer down big red!
Probaly powerline companies clearing their tracks to service the lines.
It’s not a 4wd park mate.
Your thumbnail explains it all, powerlines require access - without them our critical infrastructure suffers. 4wders will always play second fiddle to want over need.
How much “access” is there with boulders blocking each end
@deanrobinson2149 they only need a sling and a hiab to reopen at their "need"
I never got to drive it too, it was on the list of places to see and drive, RIP big red
Sorry buddy. But it has been explained that it is private property and owned by logging company. The government's had nothing to do with it. You can blame K.P built for his roll over plastered all iver social media.
The only person to blame is the logging guys. They need the track for logging. Multiple rollovers have happened all over glasshouse.

What’s kp ??
@@user-ms5di7yu4gunsure about rehabilitated, but certainly drivable for the masses now, simply rectifying the problem, needed doing.
Problem will be if it stays locked down, but if people forge new tracks off of this track I can understand it becoming locked off permanently.
@@aspectscarpentry4310 KP built a UA-camr who rolled down big red
So short version is: A private road has been used for free for years by 4x4s and now the owner/operator has decided to clean it up and close it off. I suppose thats just their perogative and the effect on tourism is not exactly their responsibility. Maybe places like the 4WD parks need to build up something similar and become the new destination for tourists.
The way Australia is going combined with idiots destroying tracks and camp grounds. Soon 4wd parks will be all we have.
@@grunkalunka3449 Probably....Weirdly enough I can never find these idiots because everyone I speak to claims they are very responsible so so far these 'idiots' appear to be invisible.
@@allisterdavidson9805 Yea i get what youre saying. You can always see the evidence of where theyve been, but never see them.
There are heaps of great tracks. You just keep the bogans (idiots) out and they are fine forever.
At a 4wd park your sort of restricted of where you can go or can’t really make new lines it might even get tiring after a while but as you said they had no problem for this many years now they’ve just changed there minds and close them
Tracks like the red twins are born out of destruction. Sure it sucks, I live 15 minutes from Mintbush and Monkeygum tracks, and we have lost ALOT of the tracks around here because of the destruction and the liabilities. Its also the cost that comes with having to clean up after the people that dont take their crap back home with them. Will also point out people from the cities keep buying "tree change" plots and these tracks end up being their daily access.
So we should all chip in, buy the plots of land before the city sheep do and create our own play areas. I will be looking to do this in the next few years.
Excellently constructed video, humourous and entertaining. I have however lost the ability to measure things properly after watching.
I reckon something similar to we have here in NZ with whats known as the ngaroma block where the department of conservation gave us 4wders a block of land in the bush to go nuts in and make new tracks and drive old ones and its maintained by the local 4wd club which they ask for donations from everyone to use there is a number of other tracks in the area but this is the only dedicated place for 4wders
@@troutobsessionnz this is an excellent idea. clubs in Oz have been struggling a lot the last few years, before covid came and put a big damper on social events. As the community engagement for my local club its been a hard slog. This is why im looking into getting my own parcel of land, so the club has somewehre to drive and camp and train.
Now please be upstanding for the minutes silence.
Been a few accidents up there. Stay strong fam ❤
Hey mate, when you put some barwork on the gq, could you put a Raslarr comp bar on the front and a patrol docta rear bar on it.
Might not have went on them myself but I’m glad there are videos about it
Spewing. Only been back in the area a few months and was keen to do little red.
At least now I could drive little and big red in the paj 😂
Some idiot probably tried to sue the power company that owns it. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they said f-off due to this.
As a local i stoped going there year's ago to many cops these days lol
Bummer.
4x4 parks wouldn't have anything that challenging, would they.
Be glad you had it.
What tracks are left in glass house was planning on a trip up and trying to get a couple of u blokes out of the shed and show a few over a weekend meet greet and wheel like wise if u come down Newcastle I’ll show u the proper loop and the side tracks off it that look like they lead dead ends
Just moved back to Brizzy and was looking to get there up once settled. Bugger
Fire Trail - yep, Logging Road - yep, Power Line Easement - yep, potential land clearing for new housing developments? I doubt it, but you never know.
RIP the reds. Can see why they did it though. Someone was going to die and sue the logging company or something. Mate how does the GU handle on road now with the flexi set up? I've always wondered what they are like on those windy country roads at 100km/hr. Figured there had to be a compromise somewhere?
If it is infact private property, what's the issue? The owner of the land can maintain it however they see fit. Being gratefuit'its been open for so long for public use is not a bad deal. New tracks will be forged the fun will continue just in a different location.
Damn. I learnt to 4 wheel drive on little red 😢
Happens all the time in vic.
Onto another issue i have how the hell did you get your 4jj1 kit out of dca because we have been waiting 6mth so far for a kit that was apparently on the shelf. The communication has be crap.

Now I don't wanna go to Glassy. DAMN!
A few secret spots in coffs harbour have been destroyed and flattened due to logging. Shits happening everywhere.
Shame this has been done to yet another 4WD track. Surely going to put a dent in the tourist $$$ in the area. Maybe local councils should have a think about the $$ impact to the local community before such measures are implemented
its a fire break and used a service track mate in a commercial forest used for harvesting, lucky they allow 4wds through there
Flattened back to a fire trail……
Don’t think a fire trucks gonna drive up that muddy incline, especially when they’re is boulders in the way 🫵🤡

there used to be some killer tracks in Ormeau Hills. are they still around?
I believe they are, I have never gone! Must check those out one day
They are still there, but it’s illegal to enter. It’s all fenced off, some people cut the gate open and go in there, but if you get caught, the cops aren’t gonna let you off easy. It’s such a shame all these tracks are getting closed.
i use to love going there, i believe its closed down now only to be used by council.

@@kadenmackriell4751 If its public land, then being locked out of what is actually ours is the bigger issue here. I 100% understand privately owned land having tracks graded, they're not going to cop someone dying on their track.
But crown land... Nah, thats ours.
I allways wanted to do these tracks now i will never be able to 😢
At least the gq can finally go to the glassy!
Bahahah, she’s ready now 😂
WTF?!?! My dad told me about this years ago before he passed unless there's another one with the same names. I've got pictures of him and his best friend Mark in a monster CJ7. We live in the US and I was told stories about how gnarly this place was OVER AND OVER AND OVER and how different the terrain is compared to what's in our backyard. Hopefully y'all can chew in something that's just as good as I've been told it was.
Your sense of humour 👌
Can you imagine if each state actually create or allow for some free playgrounds?? Not private, but public one.
all because kpbuilt had to roll down it now it gets bulldozed coz they had to post it and publicise is for a bit of clout thanks guys
I think they've made it less safe with the 250 metre drop off at the top now
Gonna need bigger rocks then that to stop our crew lol but we have ram 3500s to hook up to and pull that tiny rock out of the way.. winch onto it with your 4 Runner and hook to another jeep or something behind as a anchor and just move those tiny boulders
The fun police doing what wet blankets do. Not surprised one bit. Next thing is high fencing with cameras.
Creat rain water channels and wait for it.
The way G’house is going with the boom in 4wd’ing its on the cards to be off limits for all recreational use…4wds have cause so much damage it might be time for some to get a new hobby.
Mayb 1 of todays modern tracks. There have been plenty of tracks before had the same shit happen lucky its not gated as well
Now that they've fixed the track, Toyota's will be able to go up it
On the bright side you can come now during the wet.😁💯
Bags of clay breaker 😅
My guess is Powerlink did this for access.
They are probably just doing work on the power lines and need flat ground for machinery to drive up so they will open it once they have finished everything, when they're done the track will be molested within a year by guys that freshly dynoed their 3L diesel and are ready to hold accelerator down to the floor thinking it'll give them traction to get up the slope. It will look like the same old red just deeper by the time everyone is finished with it, you will just have a flat ground to 4wd on for awhile. Have fun with it, make sure to leave a track for everyday aussies that isn't fucked up though. Families should be able to go bush and camp freely without having to go through 100m deep ruts and 90 degree slopes, every national park in aus is becoming like that
a hill that steep made of clay and only compacted with a dozer, its only gonna take a few good rains to turn it back into a wild track.
Seems like these days one can't have a bit of fun without telling the whole world about it. It is the consequence
So they went to all the trouble of turning a washed-out track into a graded road. Then put rocks in the way to stop people using the newly graded roads. How much money was wasted doing all that work?
Could you please tell Nathan to fix his watchband up? It is super annoying by a new one for heaven sake.
I’ll let him know hahahah
I can understand the frustration and anger of little red and big red gorn but understand
It's a service line for powerlines,an access fire trail, and acess for plantation trails. Its is used for free by everyone. And chewed out by how many 4x4's . As much as I hate closed trails I can understand why . The backlash of people useing a necessary trail for bush safety made safer for those who need it to save the bush and service the power lines is amazing . As 4x4rers we need to understand bush and work safety is abused by everyone . It is what it is. How many of the people useing those useing those tracks donate to the company who's job it is to service it it and accountable for peoples stupidity if hurt and rolled ????
there were bypasses, the reds really didn’t have to be destroyed
If its owned by logging company they mite be getting ready to do some logging around there somewhere, thats what they do where i am
Evl government is closing most tracks
Wait till you see what they have instore for vehicles!
Cheers kp built
A lot of these tracks get closed because people put videos on UA-cam 4x4ing them and being idiots about it and to top it off they leave trash around because some people just have no respect for nice things we have
Wellcom to bigg corporate companies 😮
Looks good, for years 4wd,s ruined it for dirt bikes...😁🤙
looks like they improved it
Talk about entitled. It wasn't originally pushed in to be a 4wd playground. 🙄
Just get ya chain or winch and drag the rocks to the side and it's reopened.
Eventually they will close Lithgow zigzag in blue mountains aswell as Sofala and hills end Bathurst 😢😢😢😢 sad days for us real ones
PRP know their shit. Can’t hurt to see for yourself
sad for Queenslanders spending big dollars on their built 4wds your laws are tough enough needing a mod plates...for vehicles....doesn't affect me at all living in Victoria it will be a shame for me not being able to watch the many videos on little and big red anymore
Tracks closed cause the plantation is a company and will be logging it soon. Can blame people for it being closed but they need to grade the tracks occasonally.
Should have picked up all your trash. By trash i mean your rolled over patrols 😄
Better start voting then.
Deteriorated track rectified, not a problem as it was long overdue.
Problem will be if it remains locked off to the public and if as suggested below in the comments, users take it upon themselves to create new tracks off of this rectified track, well it will become locked off, want it to remain open, don't abuse your access rights, it's really simple.
Don't go off the main track.
Repair any damage you create, thus allowing operaters access to whatever it is the road has been repaired for..
Do this and there is little reason to lock us out.
Yes, the old ways from the old days when tracks were available, repair as you go, don't chop them up so others can't pass, that's how we kept trails open in the olden days.
Sorry, I'm displaying too much commonsense here for many to accept.
Its Flogs just like you who have contributed to this in all areas across Australia
It was destined to be unfortunately
It is private property owned by the logging company, can't really complain it wasn't public land.
If it’s private land, understandable. I hope people start doing burnouts on it and digging it up and, and move the rocks.
The fun Police have been at it again how dare you have fun?
Gosh dang it, we all need to start acting like it’s shit being there, then they will leave us alone
So you are using reverse psychology is that it? I think it might be deeper than that.
thats for the logging trucks to get in i bet..
Our forefathers the Anzac left us a garden a kingdom of heaven on earth, time we stood up in it. Defend your neighbour
Pretty sure it's due to the "visitors" that don't care too much about where they are driving.
this country has gone bonkers. if i ever get the money i am ditching this POS country.

"My backyard" mmmm NO ITS NOT! It`s a privatly owned road! Be grateful you went there! now shosh shoosh! things change & shit happens.
Private land yeah?
vice versa
Its sad...but i could see it happening...im in my 40s so was doing 4x4 wheeling when most of these UA-camrs were in nappies...back in my day 😂 when 4x4 camping was a neich it was all about enjoying the bush in silence....big turbos, V8s, spinning tyres was done by a Holden in a industrial cul-de-sac at night, was turn and burn then go.....sorry but these young guns with tricked up 4x4s have brought the beginnings of the end... UA-camrs following each other around the country making once an exclusive hobby to now every tom dick and harry is doing it destroying the bush....its only a matter of time and closures will spread like cancer across the country.....influencers should probably slow down a bit let the dust settle. Unfortunately the arrogance of the younger generation will be upset but for the wrong reason most only care about the bubble they live in and how the closures will effect them with views clicks and likes not actually taking responsibility there part reason why. I actually think now this industry as a content creator is like crypto there once was a time it was a sure thing of getting big subs and sponsors but like crypto there was a time it peaked things are coming down fast its an industry now that is uncertain even for the sponsors....I think people got to greedy and it's coming back to bite them....some people have made a lot of money 💰 at the cost of the bush. Government watches and people complain 🙄 cash in now before the crash 😂 at the end of the day it would be naive to think this is substantial for the long term something has to give. Think about it if tracks close the industry dies with it...so no more companies throwing flashy suspension or bling to UA-camrs once the industry is dead or limited so will be the content so no more views.
I hope all tracks get closed
Haha best video love it
Its our inheritance, who sold it? Who thinks they own it?
UA-camrs will be the cause of more tracks to be taken down....its obvious.
its a fire track
Mad drit drift track bush bash it hard
Incredible, by your own admission you've never driven big red or little red, its on private property and the liability is getting too high for the land manager, you've entered a closed construction site contrary to signage and Qld WH&S legislation, but there irresponsible 4WDers out there causing the issues. Its a nice to touch to promote your sponsors, who I'm sure would be happy to be associated with the illegal incursion or "going rouge" as you put it.
In all honesty, all that needs to happen is a couple of blokes in RIGS get a 20L of 25:1 and some saws and cut a new track away from the currently redone ‘fire track’ that the company is carrying on about. Obviously the original workman need to keep quiet who cuts it because they’ll be fined… but there needs to be HARD tracks for people to go on or you just get stuff like the ‘takeover’ cr&p in America because there’s nothing to do.
This is why places get shut
@@jamberoobigsplah924 no, places get shut because blokes won’t cause havoc when they get shut
The operator that made the track hats off to them great work. Blame social media and 4wd24/7 for track closures. Plus being private land and tracks does not equate to a free for all by the public. So stop sooking about it .
:) so sad
