I recently discovered your videos and am loving them! In this one I particularly appreciated the section where you tried something, mopped it up, tried again, mopped it up etc. I helps to see that one can change something that they don't like a lot.

I’m watching this in April 2020, during the “stay at home, shelter in place” Coronavirus mandates, and this is helping me more than anything else. These videos are the best thing I can be doing during this difficult time. I’ve started painting again and I’m serious that it’s helped me so very much. Thank you, Emma, you’re the greatest. 💖

Hi I am Fiona from South Africa. I loved this video because you did the drawing first and then the painting. I also like the fact that you say when you need to let the painting dry. So many people don't say that and they forget that us beginners need to know otherwise, as I have done, they continue and get so frustrated when their painting doesn't look anything like it is supposed to be. I have become so disheartened with learning to paint that I decided I would try learning to draw flowers instead and that's when I came across this video. Now, I feel more confident about trying to paint again. Thank you.

Emma.. hi this is Carol from Sammamish Washington State, I've been loving your paintings for a long time. And I just have to let you know how grateful I am that you are not constantly telling me how easy it is! I'm a senior citizen and I am just trying to paint for the enjoyment and I do appreciate you actually showing me how to do it and you're so sweet you're not braggadocious and your paintings are beautiful thank you very much and God bless you during this awful pandemic🐣

Emma, these watercolor daisies are just gorgeous. I love that you added burnt umber and neutral gray (watered down black) around the centers. One of my favorite watercolor artists, @sandyallnock always stresses contrasts. It really DOES bring life to the painting! This is one of my favorite paintings. 😊❤️

I have only been watching your videos for a couple of days now, everything you do you make look sooooo effortless, I know that practice is the key of course but you have loads of confidence and you make it look so easy. I am grateful I have found your channel as I have avoided water colour for years, I mainly work in oils, pastels and graphite, acrylic now and then, I have tried water colour a couple of times and found it difficult, until I started watching you these past couple of days as you explain every step of the way, and the practice drills are really great. I have always loved the delicate subtleties of water colour and you show these in great detail. Wonderful, I aspire to be as good as you, thankyou for what you do on youtube.

Hey Emma, I hope you are doing well. I have been with you since you started your loose florals and you taught me literally all I know about water colours. I was wondering if you could do a water colour lesson for children. My 7yr old tried a few of the paintings yesterday we did the valentine hearts, she loved it. It would be fantastic to have an art lesson by you while all the children are off school because of the virus xxx

I'm new to watercolor and was wondering why you draw in pencil and then in ink? Is it so you can trace onto your paper you are to paint? I noticed you don't do this when you go to paint, you just start painting on the paper. I don't think I could paint without first tracing onto my paper I'm painting.

  • @moonmagnolia7

I love this! Absolutely beautiful! Thank you for creating this video and for sharing. I am inspired to try this.
You are so cute and talented. Where did you learn how to draw and paint so wonderfully?
And don’t worry about your child making noises in the background. Being a Mom is a gift. Mom’s understand.
The only thing that makes me cringe is when you touch the watercolor paper with your hands since I was told that the oils from our hands can cause the watercolor paint not to adhere to the paper very well or cause dark spots to appear years later. Sorry, that’s a personal quirk of mine.
