I have androgenetic alopecia and have lost hair over the last decade slowly. Then I got covid. Three months after the horrible virus (it’s like nothing I’ve ever experienced) my hair started falling out in clumps. (Covid is causing hair loss) So now my hair is thinner than ever and I’ve grown out the gray at 44. I’m thinking about trying the rose gold because I’m not feeling myself. Thanks for the video !
I'm so sorry you've been dealing with all of this. Ugh - hair loss sucks. I had another bad bout with it at the end of summer 2019 due to some extreme work stress. I haven't fully recovered from it, it was so bad. I have been having success with taking Sugar Bear Hair vitamins. I'm not back to my formal hair recovery place, but it definitely helped. (Of course, this is my own personal experience, and I am not a medical professional.) Having pink in my hair definitely makes me feel so much more myself. (I've also played around with purple and magenta!) Thanks for sharing your story - I wish you all the best!
This is awesome! I was looking for a technique like this- i just bought overtone rose gold, and I also don’t want all over color. I’ve been trying to brainstorm how to just do some pieces...I definitely think I’ll try this!
So glad it was helpful! I've since been playing with the pastel purple color as well. I love it because it's temporary - you can keep changing it up, and let it fade when you want something really subtle.
I use overtone all the time and what helps me is by using a really good shampoo that is for colored hair..... if you use the cheap shampoos it will strip the color it'll have too much alcohol in it... FYI if you wanted to last longer just wash your hair with conditioner
This was the video I needed! Thank you. My hair is the same color and texture as yours. I also suffer from hair loss. After seeing this, I think my hair will look "almost" as good as yours does.
Linda Plaza Thanks so much! Have a fun time with the color - I really am happy with overtone. As to my hair loss situation, I’ve had really good results with the Shea Moisture brand shampoo with the castor oil and apple cider vinegar in it. And the thyroid meds have made a big difference, too. I was so depressed about my hair, and even though it’s not the hair I had in my 20’s, I definitely see a big improvement. Good luck! (And thanks for watching!)
I just now saw this video- I have the same type of hair you do and I also have a thyroid problem. I want to do this to my hair but I have a question. Once you’ve done this how long does it stay in the hair? Let’s say it’s a color you don’t end up liking - just wondering if it comes out in “so many washes“ love all your videos ☺️
It really depends on the color. For example, the rose gold (and all the more "pastel" type colors) wash out fairly quickly. I'd say it can wash out in a week, if you wash your hair every other day. If you wash more often, it'll rinse out quicker. Like right now, my hair is NOT the color I normally have it because I can't get to my regular colorists because of corona. So my natural roots are really coming in. (My natural color is now a dark, ashy, dirty blond - I hate it!) Silly me tried to color my roots myself with a box color, and it ended up not doing much for my roots, and made the rest of my hair a tad darker in the process. (Ugh!) So now my overall color is more of a medium blond, which is too dark for pastels. (It tried some purple like a week and a half ago, and it barely showed.) Anyway, I have no fun colors in my hair now as a result of this mess. And that purple I tried out lasted all but two washes. The nice thing about overtone, is that it's healthy for your hair. You can use as much or as little as you want, and it doesn't damage your hair. And if you don't like it, just wash it a few times in warm water. It'll really take most of it out. Good luck! And thanks for the kind words! :-) :-) :-)
Hi there! New sub. We were just chatting on Instagram about your hair. I’m getting rose gold done at the salon this Friday - I’ll post here when I do in case you want to see what mine looks like.
Thank you so much ... about to take the plunge!
Have fun! :-)

Hello, excuse the account I’m using my boyfriends. Does the color wash out completely or does it stain your hair?
Ivan rivera It totally washes out. I have to really use it regularly to keep it colored.
Jen The Singing Traveler thank you!! It looks really good on you (:
