i was so worried that with the release of reunion the unwarranted genesis hate due to fanon flanderisation would get worse again and i absolutely love that while yes, there's more genesis hate, there is also more genesis appreciation because people are finally realising how good of a character he is. he's been wronged his entire life and he's making it shinra's problem. honestly good for him. good for him.
I agree whole heartedly!! I actually only got into the ff7 fandom a few months before Crisis Core Reunion came out, and Genesis was my favorite character before I even TOUCHED the game. Seeing all the hate around him made me sad which is what inspired me to make this video, because the boy deserves some love

This dude took an incomplete poem, saw through the bullshit, realised it was actual supernatural stuff, decided to use it to heal himself and his honour, and *fucking pulled it off.* He's a drama queen as much as you like, but you can't deny he was the only one in Crisis Core who knew what the hell he was doing XD.
I don’t mind his new voice, but his VA also voices Shiba from Neo: TWEWY, so every time he speaks I’m expecting a “Got some red-hot news for ya” and “I bid you adieu” which I feel like Genesis would say to be dramatic
Ngl, I miss Quinton flynn as reno, mostly because I'm a fan of his voice work. Zack's eeeeeehhhhh, not great, but he had gotten a bit better in rebirth. However, I do appreciate aerith's and nanaki's new voices. Especially aerith's, her old voice was terrible. But the other voices sounded the same and I couldn't tell the old actors were fired. Cloud sounded like Cloud, Genesis was pretty good too! berret was great, cait was great! I miss steve blum as Vincent, but his new voice wasn't that bad ether. Heck, they got an old Vincent fan boy to voice him! I'm familiar with Matt's other work, like yusuke and Jotaro (jojo). The new voices were a mix of great and terrible in my opinion. And the old voices were mixed with good and terrible as well.

He used strange method to achieve his goal but it worked to large extent and even goddess herself cured him, so he really made some right decisions. He is really great and effective character.
