Good morning Sarah, so happy to see your new video, I have the same problem when growing cucumbers, trying to save seeds and the animals get it first, also when direct sowing in the ground most of them get eaten up, I try and grow them in small pots like you and wait for them to grow bigger that usually helps, hope to see many more videos soon, have a great day💞🌱🌱
Hi Sarah, you seem to be getting younger every new video, haha. Anyway, my uncle used to wrap the cucumbers in plastic to protect it from insects and other pests. Maybe you can do that too?
The stage was ok, to prevent what happened you can wrap up with anything bigger as the size of fruit, or take off and save. Let the fruit become ready in your house, it's will dry and shrink, then open. Seeds will beakingwater from fruit and get ready by themselves. Most bad think is F1 seeds, they grow fruit but not givi seed. It's made purposely, for people to come back to shop
Thanks for the tip on how to harvest the seed , I will try it out for sure! And yes it is really important to keep out own seed for planting as most of our commercial seed is in the hands of a few global companies and they do not support diversity.
What a lovely location! I just found you so I'm not sure where you live but it looks much different than Massachusetts (where I live now) or Ireland (where I grew up).
You can start sell seeds for other permaculture people - the seeds we buy from the market do not sprout well and cannot be used for the next farming season
yes the seeds sold are mostly really bad quality, I do not sell my seed as I do not have a huge production ,but the little I have I do share and exchange with other that grow some food. Seeds are such a valuable thing to own.
It's always feel good to watch ur garden Sara
Great way to learn from you… in tropical garden. Thank you 😊

Hi Ma'am, could you please explain about the watering system you have and about the Trenches too... It will help me a lot.
Sure , I have made a whole video dedicated to the watering system and how I build the irrigation, ua-cam.com/video/R3lJ_rV_zJw/v-deo.html
@@MyFoodForest thank you I watched it. Is drip irrigation better or the sprinkler??
