We hear about equity all the time but are rarely told that it's shorthand for Social Equity, or even "Critical Social Equity." We also hear all the time about Social Justice, which is sometimes referred to as Critical Social Justice. What are these concepts, though? In Woke Marxism, they are the rebranding of Socialism (Social Equity) and Communism (Social Justice), meant to be achieved through Critical Theory. That's it. In this episode of New Discourses Bullets, James Lindsay explains Karl Marx's conception of the evolution of Socialism into Communism and then shows how the terms "equity" and "Social Justice" as widely used today reproduce this precise Theory in a new domain (identity politics) under new branding.

I've never seen Americans in my lifetime wander so far from the principle of equality.
America is infested with Marxists
Equality is cringe, tbh. As long as some people are born taller, stronger, smarter, more attractive, healthier, etc. there will be inequality. Life isn't fair and humans do not possess the power over the universe necessary to make it fair.
The problem for most of them is they don't understand that equity is NOT a reliable measure of equal treatment / equality in systems.
They don't accept the fact that these 2 concepts are mutually exclusive.
Fact is you can have one or the other but not both simultaneously.
Children from the same parents and same homes will face essentially the same headwinds or discrimination in life but yet first born children as a group outperform their younger siblings as a group.
So do they need to be made equitable in outcomes too?
Why is there a difference in outcomes when it cannot be honestly argued that the younger siblings faced different levels of oppression as a group?
This incorrect idea that equity is somehow proof or even evidence of equal treatment / opportunity is a big part of the problem.

The problem I see with Thomas' perspective over at the lotus eaters podcast, is that he is looking at this all through the lens of a "vulgar marxist". He sees you calling the woke ideology marxist and he takes offense to the claim because none of the woke ideology has anything to do with economics, "therefore it must be neo capitalism's fault"
He fails to see the reality of the situation: Marxism was never about workers, socialism, equity, or good intentions. Its was a political war strategy used to politically judo flip those "in power" - to inentionally create a dictatorship of the politically "correct".
Even the term "politically correct" (which comes from the soviets) implies that only one perspective can be correct - which explicitly means that not only opinions, but outlooks and "lenses" in life are "incorrect" and warrant "re-education" - such as the "lens" of a capitalist, factory owner, land owner, kulak, and now a white, straight, CIS, blah blah blah. They're not attacking opinions. Theyre attacking Identities because they must have the "wrong outlook" on life by default - simply based on their identity alone.
This is only about one thing: power. Do not take lighly the fact that these people constantly talk about power. It is their one motivating thing in life and they will lie, cheat, steal, and murder to get it.

Yes! I love how you’ve laid that out. Marcuse and his ilk openly acknowledged that vulgar/economic Marxism had not come to fruition because capitalism led to general satisfaction on the part of workers. They then stated clearly that their goal was to reify Marxism, and reach utopia, through other societal facets-identity, as we see.

Just went to my first school district open meeting held to explain their DEI program.
So bad, so very bad. As an audience member asked, "are you looking for our feedback and input or I'm assuming.. the train has already left the station." Response? "This is such a great question and one of the reasons we are getting together to have these discussions."(question never answered)

Why are people saying the teachers are *unqualified* to lead the kids into the rainbow? There are no qualifications that make that okay.
Equality of opportunity, not Equality of outcome.
Equality of opportunity is a lie. Someone born with 80 IQ does not have the equal opportunity to become a rocket scientist. Someone who is 5'3" does not have the equal opportunity to become a NBA player. Someone who is a woman does not have the equal opportunity to become a NBA player either, they have to settle for the WNBA until the transgenders take over that, then they'll have nothing. Parents naturally want to provide for their children and rich people are inevitably going to provide more for their children to be successful. IQ is partially heritable so smarter parents are more likely to have smarter babies. Life's not fair and it will never be fair. Equality is a utopian fantasy.
Diversity (vanguardism) > inclusion (repression) > equity (socialism) > justice (communism).
Equity is the immanentize, Justice is the eschaton.

Just think, this was brought to you back in the 1980s when they decided that there had to be a national speed limit of 55mph and any state that was unwilling to change was starved of Federal roads funding. Thin edge of the wedge.

James, would you please do a podcast on the orgin of the term "DEI"? A few years ago when it started exploding everywhere I tried to do an OED-style "tracing to first citation" but was unsuccessful. Who decided these three specific terms were the new Trinity of the West?
Fascinating!! I remember when Diversity first crept into the dialogue (from Political Correctness?)…then Inclusion (D&I) in, what, 2014? Equity shows up soon thereafter, and Justice snuck in a couple of years ago. I’m sure each concept has a rich background prior to becoming commonly linked!

Thanks for sharing! As you probably know, average people like me are not very literate. Would you be so kind as to explain in detail what socialism is to you? In Spain, it is conceived as something positive, as a welfare state in which the least favored can access minimal services, but in your video it seems to me that socialism is rather a homogeneous redistribution of wealth among individuals or identity groups.
To promote equity is to acknowledge that we aren't all equal and some are better than others while at the same time they preach that everyone is equal and we need equality while also demanding "diversity". How can diversity exist if everyone is equal? And why is it right to disadvantage the naturally advantaged to make up for those predisposed to be inferior? Groups gain power and status by taking power and status from another group. What's the one and only group who is universally condemned when attempting to promote their interests? What is the one group losing status and power? What group is participating in the self capitulation of their own race? What race is made to think of everyone as equal while simultaneously admiting their moral and spiritual inferiority? Hint: this group or race of people is the current world minority
