Numairs reaction is not unrealistic and in line with his personality that’s been shown over the past few episodes. He’s a healer and an empathetic person who is deeply invested in the well being of very sick people. He wasn’t interested in marrying because he thought he would not be able to do justice to marriage. Only a deeply empathetic person would think to that extent.
