Love your Valentine stories. I could have used GPS tracking for our cat. Our beloved cat of many years, Maximillian, disappeared one week in summer over a decade ago when my young son had a fever and I wasn't paying close attention. Max had always been an outdoor cat (he was a rescue) and had always come home the same day. He would even follow us on walks until he reached some invisible boundary and would go no further with us. I put up 'missing cat' signs and checked the local shelter. Nothing. We never saw him again, but we did later find what looked like cat bones under a bush in our front yard. Then, years later, after he would have died from natural causes, I was going through a stack of old papers and found a newsletter from our neighborhood. It was dated the month after he went missing. There was a notice in the lost-and-found for a cat of his description (brown tabby) found wandering in another part of the neighborhood. It kicked me in the heart to read that so many years later. I never thought to check the newsletter! Of course, it might not have been him. I still don't have closure on his disappearance. It chokes me up to this day. I feel I should have tried harder to find him. All I can do is hope he didn't struggle in whatever time he had left and trust that that all is set right and blissful for him in the Everlasting.

Cats are a law to themselves. Unless they are an indoor cat you cannot control them. Never feel guilty over their actions. You cannot give them constant attention 24/7. I feel guilty when I go on holiday but I need that respite to recharge my batteries so that I can carry on giving care to my loved ones when I return.x

Much sympathy re plumbing + all water issues!!
I lived up 3 flights once + finished work at 11pm and was to start at 7am next day.
5.30am stepped out of bed into ankle deep water and books floating around the living room.
Dish washer ( had never used it) had a valve loose due to external pressure. Flooded the units underneath. Water cascading over the balcony. Lovely 80 yr old neighbour helped + organised assisted and sent me to work.
Upside of a drama.

Oh,I am so sorry about the turn of events with the plumbing. Any type of water leakage terrifies me because the damage can be extensive and the event when it's happening is an overwhelming nightmare. So very happy you found the shut off valve inside the house. It's dreadful to be without water. Hopefully the plumber can have that taken care of in the next 24-36 hours.
The upside,if there is one,is that you have an excuse to have a few meals out while this is happening. Certainly don't want to make dishes to wash if you can avoid it.

Things were rough at home. I have an opportunity hopefully if my friend comes thorough For an excellent business proposition doing something I've always wanted to do. There have been many struggles along the way Both with relationships of family as well as romantic. And unexpected changes keep Surfacing . I hate to say it but I feel like my eggs all of my basket Wish the hope that I have Regarding the Outcome I desire. But the waves keep crashing in between moments of greatness Which makes me wonder how I'm going to be able to transition or if I will be able to. If I follow through I will have to move a 12 hour drive away from everything and everyone I know. And frankly I don't want any distractions I want the outcomes I want. I had a lovely plumbing experience a couple of days ago when the ceiling wallpaper and a shower of water fell on my head in the kitchen due to a slow leak in the bathroom pipes. My face must of been a picture of total shock. How can it be raining indoors I thought? The actual ceiling is still intact but for how long I don't know. I have been scrutinising the insurance policy before I give them a call xx
