I have a 13’ camry se with the factory system I can view tire pressure, fuel usage, alter different vehicle settings like running light sensitivity, shift to lock/unlock doors, etc. Do you have access to all of these features?
Does that car have A Pillar airbags? If so, I hope those wires don't whip you in the face if you have an accident and that airbag pops. Pretty sure those GPS antennas need to face the sky and also have a metal backing to ensure they are accurate. Also, if you have a Hybrid version, this will cause you to lose ALL of your battery/charging and trip history data.
My 2015 is like that. I couldn't attach my phone via bt because the touchscreen would not respond to touches in some areas but i learned the credit card trick on yt but id still want to upgrade/update soon. For now it works though

I definitely would like to upgrade my radio unit, but on my 2012 Camry le my factory speakers stopped working except for one in the back, and I was told it’s because there are some wires that are burned out behind the radio. Could you suggest how I could fix this?
My money on on the speakers being blown, they're quite easy to overdrive. But if yours has the factory JBL audio, chances are the amplifier is toast. If you had wiring issues in the dash, you'd likely have bigger problems than that.
How do the JBL speakers sound when the head unit is changed? Somebody said that the one back speaker is just a dummy. All I know is this car sounds like junk! 2014.5 Camry with supposed premium sound.

Hello my wife has a 2014 Toyota Camry XLE hybrid and she bought the car stereo for it but it didn't have the JBL wiring adapter in it. So I was wondering did speak to the manufacturer where you bought it from and they sent you the JBL adapter or did you have to buy it separately from somewhere else?
So Glad I found your video, I just bought a DASAITA Max 10 head unit and to be installed this Mother's day weekend. My issue is Map outdated and BT not working. I have a 2012 SE V6 w/ factory backup camera but not JBL. @9:16 those two connectors are GPS & XM radio antenna. Does this unit work with the OEM TPMS?

Upgrading to an Android unit was easy, all plug & play, Thanks for you video, it takes the anxiety away and save me $200-400 installation fee.

You might be able to use the factory mic etc, I just figured I might as well install everything while it was apart. No way to adjust the screen but everything works fine
I asked Crutchfield on this one, every car literally can have a different resistance on the mic and gps antenna and there is no aftermarket unit out there that will retain OEM mic/gps. I really don't like the look of them.
I've installed three head units to my 2013 Camry before and the issue that i had with them was the rear view camera, only the guidelines comes in display nothing else is like im reversing blindly. I end up returning the items. Is there something im not connecting properly? My car has the JBL upgrade system as well.
Not directly. I have a similar unit for the 2015-2017 model and there is a 'Vehicle' app that displays tire pressure and fuel info. It's not that great though.
With my factory unit I can permanently disable day time running lights and control how loud the arm and disarm beeps are (plus a few other things).... Can I do that with this aftermarket unit too? 2015 Camry se
Super helpful video. Thank you for sharing. I have a 2014 Camry that has the issue with the backup camera where the head unit fails to detect the camera. The camera only turns on when the stock console stays at Radio mode and must be on and the gear is on reverse mode.. Other than that (with different mode, not radio), the backup camera just turns on and turns off by itself after 2 seconds. If I replace the head unit like you did here, will it also fix my camera problem? Thank you!
I have a 2014 Toyota Camry and I want to take my previous out for a modern touchscreen radio. The one I have now works when I got it but can't select some options on screen when I touch it. It glitches. Don't know what radio will be compatible but my cousin has a shop and was going to pay him to put it in for me instead of the dealership. Any idea of what kind of radio I can get?
I'm pretty sure 2012-2014 dash is the same. They changed for 2015-2017. I have the later style with a similar unit. Not terrible, but not perfect either. I've left my thoughts on it after two years in a comment here.
I replaced the LCD screen for like $12 from Amazon. Inherited the car from my Dad with 14k miles and screen had large dead spots. Watched a YT video and it took me no longer than an hour. 💪🏼

who ever used that nav anyway?? lol My radio is even worse 2012 SE.. It changes channels on it's own randomly, then everything freezes, the touch screen becomes unresponsive and the power button stops working, the only thing that does work is the volume,.. AND turning DOWN the volume fixes everything... ?? oddly enough. So it changes channels and it locks out the user of everything but volume and turning volume down lets you have control again.. sounds crazy right? I'll live with it... those AM units are just screaming (please break my windows!)
You're not fixing the radio in this video, you're replacing it. Big difference. In a fixing video, you demonstrate useful skills that help other people. For some reason I'm thinking the TPMS was working with it but can't remember for sure. I'll have to check - this wasn't my car

I'm curious about this as well, but I suspect the answer to custom CANBUS config stuff is no. Hopefully someone will correct me.

I didn't test it but in theory the mic should work fine. Not sure about the GPS signal

The new radio sucks. Dim screen, slow unrefined Chinese android, no physical controls, no native CarPlay :(
