Holy smokes!! This is the exact same thing I needed to do today. I went online to see if I could find out why it is not spinning as fast or moving the snow like it should. And wham!! My only small engine guru put this video up.. Awesome!!

Another good video for me. Last year I found a couple of times when the snow was heavier that suddenly the snow blower seemed to be slipping. I thought at the time it must have just got wet. But I will try adjusting the idler pulley. Thanks Don

Beautiful Job......... as usual. I see this video is 4 years old now, but just as useful as it was when you first put it on.

We have not had any snow in the Ozarks this year. We may luck out and not have any snow.
Do you like Honda motors and equipment as much as I do. I think they are the best.

Can you do the same for the drive pulley ? I have a HS55 where the drive handle doesn’t seem to work, I took the cover off and the idler pulley seems to work but the belt looks really tight so wondering if it’s too small of a belt or the pulley needs to be moved back from the belt. Thanks

You always have the best info. I have a question about the Honda HS80. Under the bottom next to the tracks there is a single adjustment bolt that sticks down. What does it do? It is not covered in the owners manual. Also is there a need to lube anything on the lower end. ANY tips would be helpful. Thanks.

Any advice for a Honda track HS 622 that clogs on wet snow? Would that be a symptom of belt slippage? Clogs up in the second stage and the chute.

@DeepFriedFuzzball thanks for watching, Honda makes one of the best snowblowers, the only thing with tracks is if it dies somewhere they are hard to pull

  • @johnbishop8321

Hi Dony great video as always. I noticed that there was no clip on top of the cover to hold the cable for the deflector on the chute. You need that clip to hold the cable because as you turn the chute the deflector cable moves and touches the exhaust as it will burn the cover of the cable.

Thanks. This video was very helpful. My Husquarna blower wasnt throwing the snow as it should last year, so I replaced the belt, and it was mad expensive. I didn't know this could be done at the time, but thankfully I kept the old belt. That way I can put it back on when the new one is worn out. Thank you:-)

Excellent video. I've had to refer to it on a couple of occasions already. One question regarding the auger and drive cables. I noticed on several occasions that when I applied the auger lever it activates the drive instead. Is it possible that the cables are connected incorrectly? It doesn't happen all the time, just intermittently.

@skidmore75 OOPs my error Dony , I should have said AUGER! It actually pulls/screws the snow towards the center where the snow is then thrown up towards the chute and OUT. Sorry but one fellow did say to use a spray.I'll head to the mower shop tomorrow and get some. I did get some truck bed paint but it's too cold now for me to apply it.I'll have to use that in spring for both the blower and mower deck to prevent accumulation. and rust. I have no heat in my garage.

Another well put together video Donny lad. I have an old wheel horse electro 12 (approximately 40 years old) but the snow thrower is only a single stage which does pack up when the snow is too wet ,.any ideas on how to make the screw more slippery so it won't get load up and stop throwing snow? I have your address so will send you a small donation soon. The wheel horse is half my age but we are still running.happy New Year to you and yours . Tony in Pa.

What is the problem when the drive is always on, even when the drive handle is not depressed? In order to stop my Honda snowblower I have to move the forward/backward handle to the neutral position, because it won't stop by releasing the handle.

I been watching your vid's for awhile and you do a good job but maybe once every week or every two weeks you should do more advance things for people that know how to do the simple things. Like I made lots of romping mowers and racing mowers and things like that, If it comes anything that has wheels I can do anything to it lol

Sorry, but the video is missing the critical piece of information necessary for belt adjustment - HOW to know HOW MUCH adjustment is necessary! What is the criteria for how tight the belt needs to be when the auger lever is full engaged? Is there a point of TOO MUCH tightness? You simply slid it half-way and never explained your criteria why. Afterwards, you simply pointed at the belt and said it was tight enough! What is your criteria??? And, HOW do you TEST afterwards to show you got it right (and, not just, "go blow snow..."). I could be burning up a belt without knowing it by over-tightening...

@whitegreg56 Thanks greg I'll try that . My drive is over 400 feet long and I have to make at least 2 or 3 passes to clear it. It's a pain to have to stop and clear out the auger when it gets clogged.Been getting wet snow too often these last few years. I have no problem with dry snow. Now if the spray could be used on my "new" left knee replacement so It'd be more flexible. Just kidding. Thanks for the input.
