- The time has come for Fat Bear Week 2023! A little video to get you ready for the Fun! I tried to include the Bears I could think that might make the bracket, this is not the bracket just a bunch of contenders, hopefully I did not miss any obvious candidates! 480 King Otis is winning at life. Slept in late this spring again, pulled many all nighters chowing down 25-30 salmon, and took epic naps, and is looking great. Enough that beautiful Holly and Grazer have been hanging around the wise one. I just want him back again next year. Love that old bear. ❤❤🐻🐻

This is new to me…what are the #’s flashing by each bear…tag #’s?
Each Bear receives a number, once they are on their own, for ID purposes. Tags or other physical monitoring are not used, just visual and numbers. For more info: katmai-bearcams.fandom.com/wiki/Bear_Book_~_The_Bearcam_Wiki_Edition
Need a better photo of 806Jr, he was one HUGE cub. Some called him The Tank, he was so big.

I don't think 503 is eligible because he only showed up late in fall. As I understand it they need to see the bear from early in the season through fall to see the transformation.
Was hoping the Rangers spotted him off cam, same with 602 who is huge! We'll soon find out!

I think it's pretty well established that 503 didn't show up at all until September. I mean pretty much everyone on the cam not to mention Fitz and the Rangers who appeared with Mike On play by Plays knew that he hadn't shown up yet then all of the sudden he appeared in September pretty healthy and fat looking.
