I’m so very pleased our GIANT 747 won his Crown as fattest bear at Katmai. He’s such a grand boar with his rearranged ears. Especially loved watching him push 856 down the river. 🎉😂❤

Wanted to see Holly and Grazer in a Mama Bear Final….but 747 came into the season almost as depleted as 480 Otis did for 2021. I mean, we even have a term - “getting Grazered” for that big mama, who had to fish for 3 this year. Still, congrats to 747 - many dreams of salmon for the winter!

When reached for comment 747 had this to say:
"I worked hard everyday".
"I stood there like a statue waiting for fishes".
"I kept a close eye on the now former champ Otis, and took mental notes of his style".
"I ate as many as I could".
"Now, I'm tired".
"Thanks everybody".

After our interview was over, I watched 747 try to negotiate the river bank.
It took everything he had left in his tank.

I LOVE 747 and am so glad he won! he has a special place in my heart because I learned about Fat Bear Week and Katmai the year after he 1st won and I gazed at his fat awesomeness in disbelief! All the bears are great however and a special thanks to Mike Fitz and all the rangers who have taught me so much!

I just love all the bears Katmai, and I congratulate 747 even though I did vote Grazer. Not to take anything away from the champ, however I also considered the fact that Grazer being a female had her cubs to share her catch and also be on the look out to protect them, so with that in mind I thought she did very well for herself & her cubs. I think they all will do well this winter. I am so glad to have found this channel, I truly enjoy very much, thank you! ❤

Congratulations 747! I personaly did not vote for him, as I usually tend to have more sympathy for less dominant and agressive bears, but I am fine with him being a king this year. I wish him and all other bears a warm and cozy "bedroom" and nice dreams and hope to see them all in a good shape next year. 🐻

I thought I heared he is in his early twenties. And: no, they can't get a heart attack by the fat. Their body is built to cary all this weight.
