Glad I went and saw this race in person. First race I’ve been to in a few years and I have no regret. Congrats to IMSA for keeping the variety of cars out on the track. Too bad Porsche didn’t do too well

People who are making excuses for the Porsches got to realize, that the C8.R only raced three races in its entire existence, and already its a competitive force to be reckoned with, which will improve, with every race.

@@stevexx2308but the Porsche platform has a couple of years under their belt, the Corvette is straight out of the box, winning two out of three races, the first Mid-Engine platform for Corvette racing, so they are in a learning curve with their car.

Porsche has to visualize winning if they ever expect to win! They are up against a Corvette Team that is a Championship, Class Act in GTLM!
Kinda bummed I'm gonna miss IMSA at Road America! Last year's racing was AMAZING across all classes and series (GT3, Super Trufeo, Michelin and WeatherTech. Pretty sure I misspelled Trufeo)

The fender bender was rather funny. Should have had some insurance adjusters on site :).
Porsche was just not able to recover the lead after that mistake. The 911 has the best exhaust though.

There are different classes and all of them fight for class wins. There is a seperate championship for all of them.
Had the Porsche Team in GTLM been studying old Keystone Cop movies to know how to drive in the pits?

What so scary about C8.R is the fact that it's still hasn't reached its potentials being only its third race, this car is great out of the box.

DPi - Daytona prototype international
LMP2- Le Mans prototype 2
GTLM - Grand Tourer Le mans
GTD - Grand Tourer Daytona
First two classes are purpose built for racing and other two based on production models. Cars get slower as in the order above and race for diffrent trophies

Here come the PI adjustments for the Corvette even though Porsche ran well against them until the pit incident.
I think the performance balances are fine where they are at for GTLM.
The Vettes ran atleast 0.5s a lap quicker for most of the race, sure porsche shot themselves in the foot but the BMW didnt seem to be on pace at all...
@@RUsOmaDDbrO I just checked the fastest laps of the rave for the GTLM cars and the Porsche actually ran the fastest lap at 157.977 the corvettes were next at 157.979 and 157.996 the next Porsche was at 158.060 and the BMW's were at 158.6××. So if anyone deserves a bump its them. My opinion is to leave the fast cars where they are and bring the others up to that level. But Imsa likes to cripple the winning teams and pile advantages onto those behind them.
@@azslotracer I agree with you, try to bump the bmws up rather than knocking the vette and Porsche down. But they'll probably end up putting 700lbs of lead in those two until bmw wins one
They need to let BMW have about 100 more hp. I feel like since Daytona 24 they have completely penalized those cars
wish it was a 12 hour race and not a near 3 hour race.......
The amazing thing about GTLM and Corvette this year is the team is so confident of their equipment, C8Rs that they seem the conversation between car 3 and car 4 is at the end of the race we will agree on which car win. “It’s your turn, No it is your turn!”

Mixing slow cars with faster cars is a recipe for disaster. Prototypes and GT cars don't mix. That's like racing a F1 Mercedes with a F1 Williams or Ferarri.
Tradition. That is how they run endurance racing.
Notice how there were no major collisions between different-class cars? They all know and follow the rules, and the different classes racing at the same times makes for a lot of excitement. The faster classes need to find their way around slower traffic. Plus you get to watch several contests at the same time. Love it.
