Thank you, so glad you like to cover and really appreciate the subscription, cheers! I thought this was a Jagger/Richards composition, but I'm a Townes fan too and love his version of course. I haven't performed those others before but will try 'em out...
@@AdamSweetMusic You are 100% correct! Townes just covered it. His recording on UA-cam is from the General Store/Post Office in Luckenbach, TX. You heard of Hondo Crouch? His grandson is John Graham and he married my best friend's sister. The music line-up was amazing!
@@AdamSweetMusic The Viva Terlingua album by Jerry Jeff Walker was recorded at Luckenbach. JJW made an album about Hondo after his passing. I maybe still have a video of Hondo's daughter getting up on a table and dancing while Gary P Nunn played the night before the wedding. Do y'all follow the Texas music scene?
I love the Townes Van Zandt version but his isn’t the original. The song was written by Jagger and Richards and released on the Stones’ ‘71 album Sticky Fingers. Townes’ version featured on his album of live covers called Roadsongs which was released in the early 90s. This live version was also used in The Big Lebowski.
Your Bassman carries the day Ha Ha! Nice Job. Mick & Keith is proud.
