I added a Uni Jetstream 1.0 inside of my pen and was bragging to my wife that I found a very smooth and versatile pen. She said she had a great smooth pen, went to her purse and pulled out a Uni Jetstream 1.0.
@@unsharpen I hate ballpoints and I can only find one rollerball that doesn't skip on me and that's the Pilot Dr. Grip. They claim it's ballpoint, but I highly disagree. It writes with absolutely no effort, and writes instantaneously, even when it hasn't been used in a long time. I don't know why I have a problem with skipping. I thought it might be due to being left-handed, but I see you are as well. Do you have the same problem?
I had the exact same thing happen with my cousin. I was telling him how much I love the Jetstream and he said, "There's no way it's better than my pen." And then he went and pulled out a 1.0 Jetstream from his pants pocket and was was like "Oh, this is a Jetstream!"
Jet stream rt is Unreal. It doesnt smudge with highlighter yet has a really pigmented black ink that I love to see in my notebook and feels INCREDIBLY smooth
The Jetstream SX-210 is probably the best pen i've ever used, it improved my calligraphy a lot in middle-school and high-school, coming from those Papermate Replay (which were horrible for us lefties, so much smearing) it felt like a dream.
One thing about the Jetream (what you call the RT model). It's a tank! I've found them in the bottom of my backpack, sitting in my boiling hot car and they still work as if they were new. Not the sexiest pen out there and the black ink is not in the same league as a gel pen but it's super smooth, quiet and very comfortable. A joy for writers.
6:33 You might even remember this or not know. The original Jetstream sxt click pens had a hard metal screw tip. Very heavy. Almost the same tip you have on the alpha jetstream. Now they have a chrome plastic screw tip. Very very very different. Circa 2003/4
For this moment the Standard Jetstram is my no 2. The number 1 is the Uni-Ball Prime retractable. That's very smooth I have in order the Uni-Ball Prime Twist and a couple of G2 refills to test them in other pens. That Uni-Ball G2 refill is hard to get. I want to test that one in my Parker IM premium and Rotring Tikky.
I recommend you to shot you video vertically and to choose a white table and to lay the pens vertically on y axis not on x axis when you compare between them. You should have a stand with led light and change the camera if you could to something better but not too costy.
After failing to retract a 207 PLUS+ tip and ruining a shirt I switched to the JetStream Elements and liked them, but then my banker told me about check fraud and I went back to the 207 PLUS+. I think the 207 PLUS+ writes more smoothly and I like the final result more. Besides, the all-black 207 PLUS+ is the coolest looking pen.
i found a jetstream uni rollerball on the floor in my school and i just FELL IN LOVE with it, sadly i burnt through the remaining ink from the previous owner in about a month and just HAD to buy more
That Jetstream Twist is a nice looking pen. I'm glad it didn't get the gem treatment, so this may find its way into my shirt pocket. I've actually considered taking a Dremel to my other Primes because I'm afraid I'll get an eye injury from a stray sun ray bouncing off the jewel.
Hey so when you test whether something is metallic are you touching it to your lip to see if it's cold? I do that but I never considered whether it might be something a lot of other people do, haha.
I really want a high end/ executive jetstream pen similar in style to the pilot acro 1000 or the acro drive. But the closest jetstream options seem far bigger and heavier! The Twist is probably the closest in size/ weight. I wish they had a nice streamline pen with that jetstream ink
@@Avi-tq6fd That is a very cool pen and I did try it. The refill fits, but in the end the grip on the pen was a little too high to work for me. So far the Jetstream One F has been my favourite.
I have old jetstream click type. Can I fit in new refills in them? In my country they only sell those at a good price, so refill is close to 80% of the body and I would have to order a pack so it is going to be a bit costly.
Do you know what’s a pen similar to the uniball signo tsi erasable except one that lasts longer or has a similar nib I love the TIP of the pen I just don’t need the eraser 😆
I’ve heard that after a few years the ink bleeds through the paper and gives off a weird hue. Also that it’s not actually archival quality and prone to fading. Can anyone confirm this?
Okay I love these pens! Bought one by accident and now these are the only ones I reach for. Just got a Prime 3&1 a few days ago. I plan on replacing the 0.7 ink with 0.5. But I still can’t figure out if I can stop the noise? Any ideas? I heard of wrapping the cartridges with tape but it’s not helping (perhaps I’m doing it wrong g though).
I recently came across a couple of comments on the JetPens blog saying that Jetstream pens begin to bleed through the paper over the time and develops yellow halos/stains around it. Does anyone know if that's true or not. I've been trying to look deeper into this, but I can't find any information about this, other than those aforementioned comments.
@@mariojr377 similar in india. But I have found a website which sells the refills (cost around 30rs= 40 cents) it used to be even cheaper but inflation didn't do us any good. Pentel energel cost the same amount as a single ink here, so there's that. Here the old jetstream with stream line design is called uni ball sport and looks really good in blue and pink body. I'm planning to hoarding the ink in bunch (15 to 20) before going to another country, they cost 3 to 4 times there (canada).
Hey man thanks for the video! One question, which tip size do you recommend for taking notes in university? (In the Uni Jetstream Standard model). I am not sure if the 0.7 mm or 1.0 mm. I just want to be able to read the text easily.
I been an avid Jetstream guy since day 1 of the police academy. That was in 2003. Do you actually know when the Jetstream debuted ? I bought a 2 pack capped at Walmart for $4.99 which at the time in 2003 seemed very expensive to me.
@@unsharpen I could be absolutely wrong. I just remember there was only one Jetstream pen in 2003. At least in the Chicago area. Capped 1.0m 2 pack was all I could find
Great channel. Just subbed. I really miss the original jetstream 1.0. I have been using the bic atlantis which is close but not as good. I really liked the shape of that pen, sort of thin in the middle with a firm plastic grip. And the ink was perfect other than the fact that it didn't last that long. Any suggestions for a replacement for it.

The last pen deserves a video by itself. It's very interesting. I want one and will get one eventually.
I was thinking whats so special of this pen which was given to me on my birthday and looks like it lasted literally 2 years and now i get to know.

What would you suggest to get a dry jet stream to get flowing again?

snx-210 btw
How do they compare to the pilot acroball?
I consider the Jetstream (in general) to be a cross between a ballpoint and a gel.
Yes that’s basically how it feels. Technically it’s an oil-based ink

Is it true that the alpha gel Jetstream can take other refills? I thought about buying one just so I could put energel refills in it

Yea that’s a surprisingly good way except if the pen is dirty.

Just drop it in sauce pan. Metal will have that low frequency resonance that plastic won't be able to produce.

Uni-ball tank is God and powerful pen ( which means you can write underwater, or upside down, or write on oil?)
I think the tank is less smooth then the XSR refill.
Any idea if this refill would fit a Lamy Safari ( Rollerball ) ???
