    Great work. Just seems to me that it’s a lot of work for ceramic coatings and graphene coats to start to fail or be weak after 10 to 12 months. Easier to just do spray coatings when needed. Love my turtle was seal and shine.

      coating tend to clog. Scotts hoods are sitting outside in the elements 24/7 I believe and accumulate debri on top that will not always disappear with a wash. I think Scott should implement a WSP/Iron remover at 6 month/1yr mark to see what happens. You can tell water spots are now present.

    Gp spray coat is a topper however can be used as a stand alone sealant. For 12 month protection. It’s very good. Remember maintenance is a big part of maintaining a coating. Coatings aren’t just set it and forget it type of things. The right soaps and spray and Decon the car. Etc.. all play in longevity of a product. However I there are some on this list that are just auto store Quality. So keep in mind what you want out of a product and how to maintain it. What a great review and test. Scott

    • @ScottHD
      @ScottHD  2 роки тому +1

      Exactly, however most people in our experience aren't going to maintain it at all. They want a "set it and forget it" type of coating which is how these tests started in the first place.

    I applied the Adam's Advanced Coating last fall. I haven't done the "Spring Cleaning" yet. I mean Iron decon, ph neutral soap, etc. But the car has been thru winter, salty, brutal winter driving conditions, still looks good. During the winter, the car got ONR weekly or bi-monthly washes. So far, I am impressed with the shine, mostly washing with ONR. Once winter is over, and I have time, I will thoroughly wash (ph Neutral soap) Iron decon, and add a layer of graphene ceramic spray. But so far it has made it through the first winter.

      For a spring clean, especially if you had salt on the road, hit it with more acidic prewash before your contact wash.

    You should take your top 4 or 5 coatings overall and then do a test on different types of paint. Use the same 5 products across old paint, new paint, same paint but different color. These could just be smaller door panels.

    • @ScottHD

      Yeah the thing about that product is that even once it wears down, it's not a big ordeal to get it coated again. If it's that easy to get 6 more months out of it, vs one that's a big ordeal to have it recoated, which product do you think people are most likely to keep up on? The best product is the one people will use.

    Scott, do you think that tired coatings could be rejuvenated by spraying iron remover, or an acid shampoo or others like carpro spotless 2.0?. It would be good to test to see the result? Especially after 10 months. Thank you

    • @ScottHD
      @ScottHD  2 роки тому +1

      As much as I want to do that, for the purposes of consistency, I won't do it to these tests (done this way since 2015). Watch for my 38 way test update tomorrow or the day after as that is the one exception that I tried an iron decon wash to see if it would help as many of them are failing on this particular test for some reason.
