      I'm pretty sure she just uses it for the people that criticize every time she doesn't. In professional dance/figure skating they don't use any of that. People on the internet are too soft.

      I want to help normalize safety gear so skaters who want to wear it feel that they can, obviously it’s a personal choice but as a person teaching beginners I feel it’s my responsibility to advocate safety xx. I always wear full gear outside, concrete hurts. Happy rolling 💕🛼😀⭐️

    Im a beginnner and i just learned how to skate forwards! Im so happy, and i’ve been watching you ever since. It was so frustrating at first but i realized i just had to lift each leg the moment i lose balance to switch the weight! Today, i started doing the bubbles backwards but i must admit it really needs some muscle control as it always makes me scared to lift my feet. I hope i can practice in a wider space like you do!

      Sounds like you’re rocking it. Well done. We hire a local village hall, do you have any local skate groups on Facebook or Insta, perhaps you could hire a hall together to split the costs?

    Such a good explanation. I watched so many other videos where they just move effortlessly and say stuff like “just move like THIS.” Ok, but what exactly is “THIS???” 😭

      100%. You need to know edges, weight etc. it’s hard to tell what’s going on inside the boot.

    Your white skates with the metal plates you wear in your videos look so nice, what type of skates and plates are you using? Do they have good ankle support?

    • @Skatie

    How do you do an emergency stop backwards without toe stops? My current skates have tight cushions for speed and no toe stops. I've kind of given up skating backwards. Applying toe stops while backward when there aren't any doesn't end well :)

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  2 роки тому

      Are you using the shoulders to lead the turn? It’s surprising how much the shoulder can take the rotation. Keep
      Practising, it can be tricky to get the edge deep enough, really press on those edges. If you’ve loosened your trucks and you’re still having trouble getting good edges you may find a softer cushion could make a difference.

  • @Ivygirasole
    @Ivygirasole 2 роки тому +1

    Ciao, tu tieni loosen anche le ruote posteriori? O solo quelle anteriori?

      I have a question for ya.... I was skating outside one day and then my wheels got really loose and they were moving back and forth on me.... how can I prevent that from happening.

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  2 роки тому +1

      @@russellstorms2674 oh that’s scary. Your wheel nuts should have a strip of nylon around the upper inside threads. That nylon piece needs to be below the axel. So axel should show above the nut. Sometimes if wheels are too deep the nut won’t go down far enough in this case you can flip the nut so the nylon is definitely locked on the axel. Alternatively the nylon piece could be worn so if it keeps happening you may need to replace the skate nuts.

    • @Skatie
      @Skatie  2 роки тому +1

      The skates without toe stops are better for the rhythm / inplace moves as sometimes the toe stop gets in the way when doing toe manuals etc.

      @biff5856 2 роки тому

      @@Skatie thanks Skatie. That's something that applies to advanced skaterlike yourself. When I went to the shop to get fitted yesterday I was surprised how heavy the the boots/plates were. My admiration for quad artistic skaters increased 10 fold. I thought my old Harlicks were heavy. My concern is what is available to me is costing $569. for the Reidell set. It comes with plastic plates. If I want metal it's a different boot and $696. Reidell assured me with my weight (110#) plastic was fine lighter and o.k. even for jumps. What I don't get is the leather Moxy's are less expensive and come with metal plates and are made by Reidell too. It's confusing. Moxy's doesn't make white boots.
