I found a lot of k-indie artists on Soundcloud recently and really wanted to feature them in a playlist. When you think of k-indie, you probably think of Standing Egg, Acourve, 10cm, or similar artists I've featured in my other mixes, but these artists are indie in the truest sense. No labels, no big record deals, just raw talent and love for music.
I don't think this playlist will be as popular as my other ones, but please show these artists lots of love if you enjoy their songs :)

yessssss! ive been trying to find korean music that wasn't kpop mainstream
When you tell someone you like Korean music, they all think "Kpop"! Okay, it's cool and upbeat and I do listen to it sometimes, but there's so much more to Korean music than only pop. So I decided to keep K-indie music a hidden love which I keep safely in my heart for myself to enjoy.
omfg exactly! I love kpop but that's not the only type of music out there duh haha there's not a lot of kindie or krnb fans
Ikr! I dont even want to tell my friends about this, they’re just gonna make a huge pity out of it. I dont think they realize that there is more to korean music other than kpop. And tbh i feel like this side of korean music has less salty fandoms, i mean seriously. There was a whole fan page about bts member’s armpits lmao
This is true. I like this more. I mostly just listen to Bts and BP. I'm not a huge kpop person in genre. I pick around lol But, I loooovvvveee korean indie and jazz
People are still not understanding that k-pop is an industry and not an fucking genre.

I have a Korean a friend and when I told her I like K indie and she gave me a big ass hug😅, she was like finally someone who listens to something other then Kpop, she told me Kpop is nice but it's not what the majority of Koreans listen to and she finds it hard to tell people that she is Korean because every second a person will mention Kpop. Korean music shouldn't only be limited to Kpop. I feel bad for people who don't know the true beauty of Korean indie.

Yees I have a Korean friend and when I talked to her the first time I said I love korea, then she said me...ugh noo do you like kpop? It’s the worst thing in the world 😂 then I told her I love kdramas instead kpop so she said, ok, it’s better but I don’t like kdramas that much 😝

Today I made it through because of this playlist. Yesterday it was a cold bowl of cereal. Tomorrow maybe it'll be a particularly blue sky. All you beautiful and strong people, I may not have depression but I’ve had mental abuse almost all my life, life was hard and I’d harm myself and have these thoughts of dying but at my lowest I was fortunate enough to meet these friends that somehow accepted me, for once my prayer to god was answered, I still have some mental issues and I’ve learned that my friends did to, but because of the bond I’ve made with them and their love and acceptance they showed me, I was able to overcome my own mental issues and be strong for them, I’m the one telling them to keep going, that there is hope, I’ve become stronger as a person and happier too, and I now know that no matter how much shit life throws my way, I’ll be able to overcome it and except that everything happens for a reason, god has a plan for all of us so keep going guys, you can do it, it’s tiring I know but trust me, all the wait will be worth it in the end, I promise you, have a great day you beautiful souls

ive been listening to this playlist ever since i was 16 for comfort, on nights when crying to sleep is the only thing that'll alleviate my pain, or for when i feel restless :) im almost 19 and im so thankful that this exists on the same timeline as mine.

These songs are amazing to listen to in the streets of Korea. Growing up I would always watch the Korean dramas and wonder what it would be like to be that girl. Struggling with so much in my life. Being a black girl and being so different. I really enjoy this. I don't just like Korea for the Boys, or K-pop, or Kdramas. But everything within it. The bad history and the Good. I have a love for the Country. And all the bad, I hope it gets better. 💖 From a African American girl in a Foreign Exchange Korean Host house. I wish everyone the best, and to enjoy this playlist. I hope it offers a lot of thoughts within this playlist. 💖

I've never been one to just sit at night and listen to music.
But, last night, right before I was about to go to bed, I pulled up this playlist. I had a major headache because I just got my wisdom teeth taken out not too long ago. I turned off the main light in my room and turned on the dim string light that I had hanging on my desk and one that I had in my closet. I literally sat at my desk in my dimly lit room with this playlist playing. I sat there, not thinking about anything. I just stared at the screen of my laptop and sometimes at my wall. I listened to this playlist twice in a row. It was probably the most relaxing thing I've ever done in my life. It even took my headache away.
Thank you so much for making such a great playlist and letting us know that such amazing artists exist.

I, am a very lonely, artistic, deep thinker that needed inspiration. I found this playlist, and now, I actually wanna keep on writing my story for people to read one day. thank you so much for this. to anyone who's reading this, have a great summer!

when most people think about Korean music, it's Always the K-pop (and maybe the hip hop scene). but the Indies pop and the R&B are so underappreciated.
This playlist is so special to me. 4 years ago, it was my first introduction to anything Korea related and I completely fell in love. I have now been leaving in Seoul for 9 months :) I come back to listen to it every now and I always feel so emotional. Thank you

i’ve listened to this so much i’ve memorized almost every song
yes i stan kpop groups and i love their songs but k-indie or R&B hits home, it's so much better cause i don't really like upbeats.just enough to handle for my ears, but of course i will start stanning people from this genre. I've always liked these type of songs i only start playing upbeat songs when i have the mood, there's nothing in this world that makes me this calm except for k-indie.I really appreciate this alot.

Jumi Chan creo que puede encontrar la canción en SoundCloud. He buscado por UA-cam, pero no hay muchas canciones de ideadead aquí. Solo tiene que buscar a ideadead en SoundCloud y va a tener muchas canciones de él. Ojalá que mi respuesta ayude.

Thank you for introducing me to these artists! :) I love "indie," acoustics, folk, etc type of music however I haven't listened to any artists from Korea before so this playlist was a fantastic introduction for me! The playlist is so relaxing and what's great about non-English (or songs mostly in another language other than English) is that I can have the music on and study/read without getting distracted by the words (if that makes sense haha). Thank you!

LizzyinSerendipity this is exactly the reason I got into kpop! I love being able to listen to music without understanding the lyrics. Unfortunately after about ten years I've kinda accidentally learned the language. Still love korean music esp the indie scene but these days I listen to a lot of Japanese music to not understand 😂😂

ever since i found kpop, i always thought "this is it. this is the one". it wasn't until a few years when i realised it wasn't the one. i was missing something, yearning for the comfort and after searching, i found really found the one.
this playlist used to be my favorite back in college, the one that i keep repeat to assist me in study... now after 4 years apart- i came back again
same for me, I like soundcloud cuz you discover new artist, that have no label, entertainment no fam, and they share beautiful musics and sometimes really unique and you feel something different
This is ultimately the perfect playlist I've ever encountered. I thought it is quite impossible to compile songs that harmonized 100% not only in term on the theme and ambiance, but also among the songs themselves! I cannot fully comprehend how fantastic this playlist is 😂💕💕

This is my first time listening to K-indie but it reminds me of the soundtrack of Coffee Prince because I think that was one drama that had an exceptional soundtrack. Love this! Just curious but is this the kind of music that plays in cafes and other shops in Korea?

I just sat by my desk. my homework spread out along my table. I was so stressed. I had homework and assessments due. I pulled my phone out, and played this playlist. half an hour later, my work was not done, but my mind was at peace and I actually had the strength to carry on. Thank you for this playlist
the amount of times i've some back to this playlist- i save it for whenever i feel sad or lost, so that way i never tire of it, but i've been coming to it a lot more lately. despite that though, it's made me realize that i probably could never tire of these songs, even if i always had it on loop- i dunno this playlist has just been such a big part of my life since it's come out, even just seeing the thumbnail image puts me at ease :"))
