Something of note is that Last Wish's Apex Predator can roll Reconstruction in the left column and Bipod in the right one. Reconstruction will double Bipod's mag of 2 up to 4. This gives it good burst damage and all you have to do is wait for the magazine to overflow.
Yeah the world drop Arc rocket "Terminus Horizon" can also drop with that roll. I just got it myself and I was like "hang on, is this good?" While maybe not quite as good as bait and switch, I like the idea of dump 4 rockets, then activating a channeled damage super like Geomag Chaos reach or Dawn Chorus Dawnblade. Those will take up quite a bit of time to channel, by which point the rocket may have reloaded back up to 4. Failing that, you could then use a supremacy for a good while as the rockets reload. It is 4 seconds per rocket, so my only concern is whether or not Reconstruction should be treated as a "bonus +2 rocket burst," then should be fired/reloaded more regularly after that.
So happy to see this perk is actually good now. People always say shit like “just use Cold Comfort/Apex Pred lmao” but for those of us who want to use a Void rocket on our Void subclass, there were literally ZERO viable options, and Braytech Osprey’s lukewarm return was such a fucking letdown. The description of the video incorrectly states that Bipod got a 25% damage increase. What actually happened was that your damage penalty went from 40% to 25%, so theoretically, it's a 15% buff, but I don't see it making enough of an impact, in either sustained or burst DPS phases, to top Reconstruction/Envious + B&S
Nah he’s right. Say a regular rocket does 100 damage with no bipod. Under bipod, the old damage value would have been 60 damage. New damage value would be 75. The damage increase from 60 to 75 is 25%
No one believed me when I said that bipod will be very good after this change. I used this perk in GMs and it worked fine even with 40% damage reduction. Ammo economy with this thing is so good. If you haven't played since Lightfall, there is a ton for you to grind! Such as the Last Wish weapons, Ghosts of the Deep rocket, etc. But I will say that this seasons weapons aren't the best. Though Trials has some great loot this season!
TL;DR 10% more damage for twice the time. All the time spent shooting the extra rockets could have been used for a better rotation, or spent on other DPS weapons. The one thing this video ignores is the time difference between firing the extra rockets. Bait and switch user is doing absolutely nothing, as if they have no other weapons. Also I noticed your bait and switch test lacked swap perks which are key to swap dps tactics.... I think the math is much further apart than is shown here. But thank you for your video.
The only thing bipod is good for is reserves aka a swap perk. Most boss fights dont last long enough to go through 14 rockets, also with BaS you can rally with reserves having 9 or 10 rockets. Plus on top of that everyone should be swapping weapons not just shooting and manually reloading rockets. Its just not worth it for me personally and most of the people I play with. But if it gets changed again to where the damage is only 10% less then sure it would be worth it but for now its not worth running and I really hope people dont use it so we potentially get a buff in the near future.
I think one thing that makes a difference for me is that it's really hard to tell if BaS is procced because too many buffs, so bipod makes it braindead. Remember youre shooting 2 rockets then reloading. That massive hurts dps. CC can ahoot 4 if not more now. BnS is what you wanna be running. Bi-Pod even though more ammo is still disappointing
Ok so bipod does 25% less dmg than a base rocket. And bait and switch does 35% more dmg than a base rocket. But the argument is that bipod has like 6 more shots with reserves so if the dmg phase is long enough or your rotation is good enough bipod can do more total dmg. While if you aren't running envious bns has more dps. Idk i feel like your arguing bipods reserves against bns rockets dealing 60%more dmg minus 2 rockets or 1 if you try.
I am glad to have good options outside of raids, dungeons, and trials, it kind of bums me out is hard for me to get those weapons as a casual solo player. I will work towards a field prep, bipod Semiotician 😊

Not really. BNS still does more damage by itself provided you are in a setting with a gjally. Another thing Above does not take into account is that you are using weapons like izi or wither with BNS which is a massive increase in damage.

Would you go Demo Bipod on Apex? Or still use Reconstruction??
LFGs rolling up to nez with bipod to miss 71% more rockets😎
Remember youre shooting 2 rockets then reloading. That massive hurts dps. CC can ahoot 4 if not more now. BnS is what you wanna be running. Bi-Pod even though more ammo is still disappointing
So what would be the god roll for apex with bipod ?
I’d say impact casing, reconstruction, bipod or switch reconstruction with Demolitionist
Now all they need to do is make a rocket that can run with BAS and Bipod
TLDR: Bait and Switch for single rocket damage, Bipod for total damage.
How do you get the bipod rocket?
Great vid, lots of testing but well worth the results!
he had me at best damage perks in the game better than bait n switch😐....
Myself and Aegis came to the same conclusion for Day 1 raid settings. Suit yourself!
I just use my wither horde a energy fusion of choice and my b&s apex so I can look cool during dps phase💀
Im looking for an envoius assissin/reconstruction + bipod roll. Not for boss DPS (envios + bait n switch), but for champions.
After speed running GMs with Field Prep Clown last season Bipod will definitely be the go to pick now.
I think I deleted mine last season ffs
Ok so bipod does 25% less dmg than a base rocket. And bait and switch does 35% more dmg than a base rocket. But the argument is that bipod has like 6 more shots with reserves so if the dmg phase is long enough or your rotation is good enough bipod can do more total dmg. While if you aren't running envious bns has more dps. Idk i feel like your arguing bipods reserves against bns rockets dealing 60%more dmg minus 2 rockets or 1 if you try.
Everyone: "delete that bipod roll it sucks. Me: "My time has come"
I am glad to have good options outside of raids, dungeons, and trials, it kind of bums me out is hard for me to get those weapons as a casual solo player. I will work towards a field prep, bipod Semiotician 😊
anyone know how reconstruction and bipod interact? would this perk combo give you 4 in the mag to start with?
It does I think
It gives you 2 base mag and reconstruction slowly overflows it to 4.
Im courious what the braytech ospey with clusterbombs and bipod would do
clusters are really bad unless every cluster can hit, in which its around a 20% dmg increase, but it also doesnt help that braytech is the mid frame
bascially trading burst for higher total damage
Depends really. Cold Comfort will offer the highest burst in the game with envious and bipod.
@@AboveDestiny i mean on apex it is, cold confort is just rocket spam the launcher XD
I do recomend watching ageis info about it for more accurate info.
I’m thinking of crafting an apex predator with bipod and demo
What perks do you prefer with bipod?
Pve god roll ideas?
On Apex, Reconstruction Bipod. On Cold Comfort, Envious Assassin Bipod.
@@AboveDestiny thanks brother! Awesome content!
What about on Bray tech adept?
So hyped for this video. I posted on Reddit about this potentially being dope this season and got a lot of hate
Bipod maybe good on a titan but I wouldn’t use it on a hunter or warlock
LFR back to be the META ?
specially after wolfpack round getting nerfed hard
If you are above, who are you when you go into the basement?
rockets getting all these cool perks and meanwhile the other heavy options...
i guess rockets are just how they want us to dps most things
It'd be cool to have unique perks like this and all on the other heavies though in case people want to use other weapon types for damage. It doesnt have to be better, just would be cool to have >>Legendary
If it was previously 40% less damage and now its 25% less damage, thats a 15% buff to what it was not 25% like the clickbait thumbnail says.
This is not how math works lmfao. Run the numbers. Calculate the before and after damage. You will see a 25% increase in damage from previous damage numbers. Before accusing clickbait, feel free to run the numbers yourself.
I got a the Bray rocket with Assasins and Bi and its pretty nice
Only downside would be its frame dealing less damage.
Me too I love mine
Thank god I have this crafted
F for Pack Hunter
Might have to make the launcher my first unlock, got a drop of the seasonal launcher that has confined launch, impact casing, impulse amplifier and bipod, never had a dps run with launchers end well for me since someone always runs in front but it seems like I should give rockets another try with the bipod change.
I saved a literal god roll from Ghost of the Deep for this reason
Impact casing
Envious assassin
Bipod
NICE!
Has eBipod been tested?
I have not yet!
Cold Comfort is gonna be meta with new envious and BIPOD
Actually about to be INSANE
So basically:
-Bipod for total damage
-Bait and Switch for DPS
Did I get it right?
Not really. BNS still does more damage by itself provided you are in a setting with a gjally. Another thing Above does not take into account is that you are using weapons like izi or wither with BNS which is a massive increase in damage.
@@Grantasaurosrexwhy do people like you always include things like Izzy and witherhoard for BnS as if you can only use it with BnS.
@@h13n12 because there the best weapons to use for activating it without loosing dps when compared to other rockets where u can fire straight away not having to swap to other weapons
@@AM-bq4ki and you can also incorporate Izzy/witherhoard into any other rocket rotation which makes your point stupid as all you can claim is that they didn’t factor in the damage from those weapons but other rockets can also make use of those weapons.
@@h13n12 R u new to the game, this point has been debunked over and over again since cataclysmic was the meta, you would loose dps on other weapons when compared to bns, for example one with explosive light. U won’t izzy swap with a rocket unless it has auto loading and even if u use withahoard (that’s assuming no one else is using it) it still won’t benefit more than a bns rocket. I mean use ur brain if u compare two rockets side by side after swapping weapons, one will have a 35% increase.
Lets be honest everyone guna be running bait n switch including you
I will be running Bipod on day 1. Aegis also suggested the same thing. So, do what you want.
Major mistake within seconds of starting the video, you mentioned bipod got a buff. It did not. Bipod's damage penalty went up from -40% to -25%. It's still -25% under a normal rocket, there is no way it's competing with bait and switch.
What are you talking about? It did get a buff. It does 25% more damage than it did before, and Aegis Relic, who a lot of people rely on for DPS testing, confirmed the same thing in his day 1 raid loadouts video...
Bro did not watch the video
It's a myth that BaS doesn't proc on the first rocket.
It doesn’t though so it’s a fact not a myth.
@@h13n12 there's a video aegis did about if you want to see the proof
@@twizms2 if it's not showing up as damage numbers or at an end screen then it's a bug. whether they make it so that it is displayed correctly or they make it so it doesn't do more damage than intended is unclear so i wouldn't count it as part of the damage.
@@h13n12 well the way he tests damage is pixels on the health bar cause when the health bar is gone the boss is dead.
@@twizms2 they also test the same way with wolf pack and look where that ended up.
Already crafted one without bipod fucking bullshit lol
Absolutely not worth
Based on tests from several YTers, we disagree.
Still not fw the Cold comfort lol you’d need Gjally to make bipod worth it. More ammo? That’s cool, rather do dmg.
And uhh, 7 rockets… 12 rockets, difference is 5… 70% more rockets? More like 60% if you wanna be technical. 3.5 being 50%, it increase at .7 intervals for every 5%, which make 5 rockets extra … 60-61%. Why not just say 5 more rockets tho? Lmfao Trying too hard and messing up the maths.
Also bait and switch is up for 10 seconds, fully stacked CC, that’s 4 rockets no reload, stasis Hunter melee, 5 rockets, dodge makes it 6 rockets before reload and bait and switch will be proc’d… warlocks use strand loops. This video is just cap lmao
No it doesnt Bipod is still alot worse than Bait and Switch
bait used to be believable
i hate it here
new meta? spoiler no
Ehh untill bipod is not a negative damage , im not using it
Tbh. Bipod BaS meta soon?
yah thats not happening literally will be the only perk people use
@@izanagisburden9465 i mean we’ve been in a meta like that before
Be realistic.
oh nice another youtube dps testing bait. why are we purposefully testing the best case scenario for bipod and completely ignore the main strength of the bns setup, see that its still almost completely inferior and then call it a contendor?? run it back and use izi rocket/double slug rocket or if your dead set on simply ignoring swaps and filler compare the time when using reload exotics/grapple nade
