- Got this junker for $300, mainly for the motor, but it does run and drive -I drove it from the trailer park where I bought it to Dave's in CT, then home to NJ. This is hands down the worst looking car I've ever owned. It may well be the worst car on the road today, at least in the Northeast.
That plane overhead at the beginning was like a sad trombone..
lobsterbox20 I literally thought it was intro music for a sec.
That thing is friggin' cool! Too bad it's not in better shape. Still, I really want to roll into my high school parking lot with something like that!
I think it's time for an overview update of the entire "Office Fleet"
My daily driver is a 77 Catalina sedan until this spring when I start the restoration 56k miles original and no rust and still has the a.m. radio
You might want to buy a bucket of Fluid Film and undercoat it, that's a good anti-rust spray. The Fluid Film will creep up the sides of your car in the right areas though (the doors and fenders come to mind,) talking from experience .
Here in Ohio that is a 1,500 dollar car all day long , I have seen worse for more , hang on to the grill and headlight parts , those Pontiacs are getting rare.
Will the engine in this Pontiac Wagon fit into a 1987 Dodge Aries Wagon in place of the K-Car engine?
That's probably one of the best running and driving junkers I've seen. Of course I have definitely driven worse, a '82 ford f-350 stakebed with a bad u-joint, rust rotted floorboards, bowed rusty frame and a door missing. The damn thing took the better part of 10 minutes to get started if it was less than 50 degrees outside and the brakes were virtually unusable.
Glad you got it for so cheap, I saw the Craigs ad when they were asking $1,800 for it.
My first car was a 77’ Pontiac Catalina 4door Sedan.. it was silver with red leather just like this one.. I cried when I had to sell it I had it for over 10 years I’m stupid and I never had an issue with it ever not running.. that’s a good damn car
im surprised some rats didnt jump out when dave started revving it lol
I have a light blue 1978, roof rack. It looks like an Oldsmobile delta 88 wagon from 1981 lol
The ending was a nice touch. Too bad about the frame....
Come for the motor, stay for the style.
1977 pontiac SW with a pontiac 400 is a sweet combo...other than the chalked out paint, briken turn signal lense(s?)..great buy!!
As long as you're in the Tractor Land neck of the woods, how about an update?
Great video, lots of patina there!
1977 is when American cars really took a dive in quality and style. It’s when the Monte Carlo shrunk to a ridiculous size.
My parents had one of these when I was growing up, the 6.6 engine was actually a Oldsmobile 403 though, not a Pontiac 400 wich explained why it was gutless
Lynol, hope you have AAA when you head to NJ.
Tom
A kid I know probably could use some front end parts off of it. That nose is rare
Man, around here that's easily an $800 car. I'd buy something like that.
4:47 It was like you were pretty much talking about a scene out of Uncle Buck lol
5:18 - yeah I guess you called that
Pontiac: we are driving excitement!!
I have a 1973 pontiac catilina with a 350 Chevy as my summer driver and my daily is a 1972 oldsmobile 98 with a 455
I remember selling you that car.
You should sell me those hood hinges
to bad it can't be saved I live in Arizona and I haven't seen one of those in year's
I was going to say restore it til you said the frame was junk
I'd kill for this car, i payed the same amount for a fuel injected heap
it has one original hubcap at least.....
Sounds good
I’ll buy it
Minty
I’ll give you $250 for it when you get the motor out
More tractor videows
Well it's not the worst. I currently own worse vehicles
Hmmm... wow is right. 🙂
