Especially now that players are gonna wanna play in the SEC and Big10 those bottom half teams will get better players just because they are in those conferences.....the Bigxii will get some good players but as soon as they have a good year they will transfer to the top 2 conferences. To be blunt....the Bigxii will be a "feeder" conference to the SEC and Big10.

@1682 Right now, the only special team in the $EC is Georgia. The NIL xfer portal, has, is, and will continue to cut both ways. The best Tight End in the Big 12 xferred from LSU to WVU, better to start in the Big 12 than 2nd string in the SEC.. Facts suck

It definitely looks like a 2+1 top tier is coming.
All end up at 20-24 teams.
Gives you enough schools for a D1 CFP 16 team tourney.
But Big 12 will EASILY be above any G5 league no matter how people cry in the comments.
The top 5-6 teams will absolutely reside in the P2. But A Big 12 school or two will rise the same way OU in Big 12 and Clemson did in ACC previously.
Math is pretty obvious. 70M for the bottom half of the SEC where Big 12 top tier will make 50M. And can fanbase and donors make up 20M? Absolutely. BUT only for a very few schools.
But top of SEC and B1G will make 100M and no one is touching that.

5:55 .. "How many private jet companies have an interest ....." Answer: a few schools will have VERY beneficial relationships with private jet companies; if it tickles yer fancy, do some digging on Nebraska's relationship with NetJets (Warren Buffett) and Duncan Aviation. Frankly, I'm not entirely familiar with every detail, and I don't think it's a "highly" publicized thing, AND The Oracle hasn't necessarily been a huge, nor highly publicized donor to our Huskers, BUT having worked at one of those organizations, I would be very excited to hear what a diligent journalist might learn if they looked. (ignore the conspiratorial "scent" of those statements ... I don't suspect that it's improper in any way) There are a couple dozen jet leasing firms in the country, and their executives all graduated from SOMEwhere.

The best recruiting class in the Big12 this last cycle was Texas Tech at 25? Nebraska had a better class than that and they were like 5-6th in the BIG10. And the SEC has even more teams in the Top 25 in recruiting than the BIG10. The Big12 is honestly somewhere between the Power 2 and the Group of 5. The Big12 is a 2nd Tier Conference. Sorry.

One of the identifiers of a "power" conference is having a number of blues and lite blues in football, men's basketball, and overall sports. This feature can appear to be "top heavy". The BIG12 has no blue or lite in football. Has 1 blue and ~2 lites in men's basketball. Has 1 lite in overall sports. No upper rights (tops in both overall athletics and academics).

Its unfortunate how the purity of collegiate football been ruined...the play off expansion is great because of the thought of some other under dog or Cinderella teams that could make a run or create a timeless or amazing game. Much like march madesss only on much smaller scale...Many schools will never get the opportunity. Due to money, 2 conferences will now slowly buy players and now its business versus competition from all over the nation. We already the have the NFL...Players deserve luxuries while they are enrolled and should be able to keep any NIL money they create for them selves and tuition obviously to those who actually care to have an education but to out right pay players is unfortunate. They will undoubtedly play for who pays the most versus playing at a school they actually want to go too. Its not college ball anymore. Its NFL G League. If they seperate from the NCAA they should follow the NBA model and seperate from the idea that is kids at school...cause its clearly not. Im not mad at change but now money controls to much of the atmosphere, which makes it less interesting. Now the BIG12 is some how pathetic and the Pac12 disappeared?? ACC is pending a fall as well? Whats the point of conferences at this point? Sucks to see fans from SEC and Big10 shitting on whats left now that they added new teams to there conferences because they can afford to pay them. Of course the rest will struggle the good teams left for more money. Just not sure why the realignment happened before the CFP expansion. We missed what could've been a great product so that SEC and Big10 can line there pockets by having more teams in the play off? Some of the teams that moved wouldve gotten in the playoff if they stayed in the conference anyway. So it seems to be a money move.I dont have all the details so maybe decisions were made out of necessity and im off and maybe there are benefits im not seeing to this change. but as far as what fans want to see is still kids giving it there all to win and reach the next level. When college kids make more the QB playing in the superbowl there is a problem. I feel like there are many who would be in agreement with me. Maybe a redefinement of D1 is order?

Man, lots of B12 hate here, but the truth is Pat Smith may think he knows Sankey but in reality, Sankey gives a rat's ass about anyone outside of the SEC as long they get paid. He doesn't even care about Fanboy Petiti and the B1G. There's not an altruistic bone in that man's body. Actions speak louder than words - he started this whole thing when he got the Horns Down crew to sell their souls and bring little brother and now SEC-mid-tier OU with them. It's all fun and games until ESPN comes apart at the seams and their pro-SEC talking heads like Kirk Herbstreit disappear.
