Who are you trying to convince the Big 10 doesn't want Notre Dame? We all know they want them. Only someone with an agenda would compare Notre Dame to SMU.
The B1G wants ND, but ND doesn't want the B1G unless the ACC heavily depletes out to the SEC/B1G.
ND could have assured a peer P3 by joining the ACC to prevent depletion, but it is betting on lite depletion or is simply delaying the inevitable. I doubt any ND official wants the move to the B1G to be part of his/her legacy.
The big 12 is on borrowed time and is a Frankenstein/survival conference full of 2nd tier teams and G5 teams. All Yormark has done is delay the inevitability of extinction. big 12 and Acc will not be much of power anything and more G5/G6 conferences once BiG and SEC expand and break away doing their own thing.
Let them breakaway. The big 12 and acc will play their own championship.
@@CarlAdams-lc6oz It will be the premier G5/G6 Championship then!

Why blame the big 12 because the ACC sucks?
@@CarlAdams-lc6oz Measured by estimated actual value and competitiveness, the ACC remains Tier 1. The new BIG12 is a slight step up from a mid. The numbers below are even worse than I would have guessed:
2015/16 - 2023/24 Final D-Cup Standings (2020 N/A):
ACC: 23 Top 10, 48 Top 20 (includes ND, STANFORD & CAL)
B12: 00 Top 10, 06 Top 20 (includes AZST, excludes TEXAS & TXAM)
B1G: 26 Top 10, 45 Top 20 (includes USC & UCLA)
PAC: 00 Top 10, 00 Top 20 (excludes USC, UCLA, STANFORD, CAL & AZST)
SEC: 31 Top 10, 60 Top 20 (includes TEXAS, OK & TXAM)
Big 12 will be at the little kids table with everyone else, that's not in the B1G and SEC.
LOL at the Big 12 show thinking the Big 12 is on the level of the B1G and SEC
For the big 12 to become a 3rd super they would have to pickup the top of the acc (Florida State, Clemson, Miami,North Carolina and talk Notre Dame into joining along with the current top 10-12 teams of the current big 12 to make a third 16+ team super conference. Doubtful it will happen, too many big wigs with too much pride to make it happen.
But that will never happen. HOWEVER the Top of the Big 12 is already fighting it out behind the scenes to get into the ACC.
@@MercerKnowsBall I know it would never happen. To many egos. But it is the one way to fight what the BIG10 and SEC are doing. Make a 3rd conference with the blue bloods and big name/market areas that are left.
@@todddoyle2248 The BIG12's biggest brands have already left outside of KANSAS. The ACC would be better off waiting out the media deal. I'll play along, if something like this would happen, it would be the core ACC schools from Virginia down except WAKE + the 4Cs. Few if any of the other new BIG12 schools would be wanted outside of maybe KANSAS.
Sorry Big12, but it’s a Power 2. Not 3 or 4.
We are currently in a tiered P4.
Saban could go get some experimental longevity treatments, start aging backwards, come back to 'Bama, coach for the next decade -- and over that decade, Alabama would not be what it has been. Because times have changed. Probably no team is ever going to have a run like that again. No one is going to be able to hoard players like that.
But 'Bama Fan will no doubt blame everything on DeBoer when 'Bama has a 10-win season every few years, and gets knocked out of the playoffs in the first round every couple years, and only wins one title over the next 5 years.
Pretty interesting…
There is no more feasible path to a peer P3. The new BIG12 is the remnants of the original BIG12/PAC plus some elevated G5s. We will either have a tiered P4 ~or~ a P2. A #3 BIG12 won't matter.
Must suck to know north Carolina will be trapped in the new g5 acc when all the good teams leave. Then all you will have is watching WVU beat you at home.
@@CarlAdams-lc6oz Pitiful.... Both the SEC and B1G are waiting for UNC to be both willing and able to move. If UNC stays, only FSU leaves, and that ACC remains far better than the new BIG12.
Must suck that WVU is likely doomed to Tier 2 status. It's unlikely that any school that didn't make the original P5 cut to make the P2.
It will still be the power 4.... B10 and SEC on top making 2x as rhe Big12. Who make 2x as the ACC, bit the gap between thr Power 2 and the Big12 is around 50M while the Big12 is only 25M more than ACC
The ACC pays more than the new BIG12, even with its far below market deal.
We are currently in a tiered P4, with the BIG12 already Tier 2.
Big 12 is SEC minus bama, LSU, Ga, and Florida and big 10 minus osu and mich and maybe USC

You left out Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, Penn st., and Ole Miss. Take any one of these 6. And they would be favored to win the big 12. Now add the 5 or 6 you listed. So how good is the big 12 really?
USC?
They haven't done squat in forever.

a) Teams have decided that peer Tier 1 revenue is a necessity to remain competitive as things progress.
b) TCU did not make $3B

I don't suspect that it's improper in any way) There are a couple dozen jet leasing firms in the country, and their executives all graduated from SOMEwhere.

B12 will be still be at the table picking up scraps which means it will still be eating while others will be starving.😅
It's feasible that the BIG12 will be the sole surviving Tier 2, but will it matter?
The best recruiting class in the Big12 this last cycle was Texas Tech at 25? Nebraska had a better class than that and they were like 5-6th in the BIG10. And the SEC has even more teams in the Top 25 in recruiting than the BIG10. The Big12 is honestly somewhere between the Power 2 and the Group of 5. The Big12 is a 2nd Tier Conference. Sorry.
So many people crying simply because the big 12 exists. Hahaha

SEC and Big TEN are top heavy the rest not so good
One of the identifiers of a "power" conference is having a number of blues and lite blues in football, men's basketball, and overall sports. This feature can appear to be "top heavy". Its unfortunate how the purity of collegiate football been ruined...the play off expansion is great because of the thought of some other under dog or Cinderella teams that could make a run or create a timeless or amazing game. Much like march madesss only on much smaller scale...Many schools will never get the opportunity. Due to money, 2 conferences will now slowly buy players and now its business versus competition from all over the nation. We already the have the NFL...Players deserve luxuries while they are enrolled and should be able to keep any NIL money they create for them selves and tuition obviously to those who actually care to have an education but to out right pay players is unfortunate. They will undoubtedly play for who pays the most versus playing at a school they actually want to go too. Its not college ball anymore. Its NFL G League. If they seperate from the NCAA they should follow the NBA model and seperate from the idea that is kids at school...cause its clearly not. Im not mad at change but now money controls to much of the atmosphere, which makes it less interesting. Now the BIG12 is some how pathetic and the Pac12 disappeared?? ACC is pending a fall as well? Whats the point of conferences at this point? Sucks to see fans from SEC and Big10 shitting on whats left now that they added new teams to there conferences because they can afford to pay them. Of course the rest will struggle the good teams left for more money. Just not sure why the realignment happened before the CFP expansion. We missed what could've been a great product so that SEC and Big10 can line there pockets by having more teams in the play off? Some of the teams that moved wouldve gotten in the playoff if they stayed in the conference anyway. So it seems to be a money move.I dont have all the details so maybe decisions were made out of necessity and im off and maybe there are benefits im not seeing to this change. but as far as what fans want to see is still kids giving it there all to win and reach the next level. When college kids make more the QB playing in the superbowl there is a problem. I feel like there are many who would be in agreement with me. Maybe a redefinement of D1 is order?
