The game with the famous "Reggie Bush gets JACKED UP" play 😂
Christian Perry your damn straight he did
0:30
Nathan Smith clean hit man
Now it would be a flag.
@@dominiqueakers4651 And possibly a fumble.
This game marked
-The Eagles first playoff loss in the divisional round since 2000
-The first playoff game for Drew Brees as the Saints QB
-The first playoff win for Drew Brees
-The first playoff win for Sean Payton as head coach
-The Saints first-ever divisional round playoff win
-The last time any NFL had a playoff bye with a 10-6 record
Damn the saints are dynasty
I had to come back and make sure. How we got a bye with a 10-6 record?😂
@@divineeternity7268Back when 2 teams from each conference got byes
@@dylthaman7640 Damn. Times have changed.
@@dylthaman7640miss those days hate seeing change in the playoffs when the playoffs have always been open season and fair to all teams
Westbrook was awesome.
People underrated Deuce McCallister. Everyone loved Reggie, but Deuce was the back that was more reliable and better overall.
Great Game
Kurt S also deuce was there for the old days Reggie wasn’t he never did anything in his career but win
Deuce was a linebacker worst nightmare. Most every time he had the ball, it took at least 5 guys to bring him down. Downhill all the way! Duuuuuuuuece!
Dude I was just thinking about how awesome McAllister was. And then watching this just made me remember better, Kamara is quick, but he's not a big bulky dude to drop the shoulder. Even Reggie Bush was more contact. If you watch the game today, against Atlanta it's crazy to see that in 06 this was one of the best years of Defense we had. And our offense was explosive then. This year our defense is amazing and Drew Brees is doing his normal thing, grind in the clock, and getting 3rd down conversion. TAKING CHECKDOWNS!! This is what screw so many quarterbacks in the league right now). BUT, we are not seeing any of these big plays yet, the Saints have yet to Peak, which is great cuz it's late in the season... so its coming
Hard to believe Jeff Garcia was the Eagles QB for this game.
jasonfire34 why was that hard to believe? He was always good, except in Cleveland
@@TheLocalLt he wasn't very good in Detroit either. Plus I'm used to thinking about McNabb and Reid as the face of Eagles playoff disappointment in the 2000s, even though that Eagle team performed better than anyone expected once McNabb got hurt
jasonfire34 okay for one season… he was good for the Bucs eagles and 49ers. Hmm seems kinda like he performed badly on the worst teams in the league like Browns and lions
McNabb tore his ACL that year but the team still managed to finish 10-6 and win the division.
@blackandgold51 yea I dont what he mean by dissapointment, yes the game vs Cardinals in Nfc championiship game was heartbreaking, and even this game it was a magical season I hated to see it end,we were counted out when Mcnabb went down..But I would never say dissapointment
The punt at 4:40 wasn't a designed play. Steve Weatherford avoided disaster and made a clutch play. One of my favorite plays from the game.
I was at this game.....it was unbelievable.
Edit: Deuce was a monster in this game...love Deuce
10:29 lol that ref said OFFENSE like he was a superhero or sum
I think Mike Carey sometimes would emphasize words like that.
Oznerol some refs try to be tv stars. All of them except ed hochuli are try-hards. Hochuli doesn’t do any schtick he just explains stuff. They are basically all copying red cashion, a ref in the 80s and 90s who became famous for yelling “first down!” every time.
Mike Carey is the GOAT. He refused to participate in Redskins games because the team used a racist logo/name. Now that team doesnt have a logo nor a name. He was always right.
That was Mike Carey's trademark lol
I had forgotten that Jeff Garcia was the starting QB for the Eagles in this game. Philly fans might try to make the case that they weren’t playing with their starting QB, but Garcia was a very capable backup and actually had some success in the playoffs.
Andy Reid has always been known to have capable backups and making sure his backups understand and can run his playbook. It saved his ass last year vs the browns in the divisional playoffs.
@Tominator02 It also saved him this year, with Chad Henne leading an incredibly clutch 98 yard touchdown drive against Jacksonville
Deuce was such a BEAST! That 1/2 punch of McAllister/Bush was tough back then for the Saints. Deuce never had less then 1,000 yards rushing and 1,200 all purpose yards in any of his 4 years as a full starter for the Saints....and that's despite Bush taking a bunch of his carries. In 2003 Deuce had over 2,100 all purpose yards from scrimmage. Incredible..
Remember watching this game like yesterday
Regardless of how you feel about the saints you at least got to respect them for making the playoffs after they recovered from Katrina
They're a billion dollar entity dude like wtf they're not playing there for free or even living in the places that lost their homes. People act like sports teams are poor, independent companies when they pillage and leach off the municipality most of the time.
You're missing the damn point, the city as a whole in 2006 just recently recovered from katrina and their saints returned to the superdome and gave the city something to be happy about by making the playoffs.
aR0ttenBANANA96 you act like they don’t need the cities fans to make those billions. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
aR0ttenBANANA96 dude it was a big deal the saints didn’t play one game in New Orleans in 2005 and there were rumors that if the city of New Orleans never recovered, the saints would stay in San Antonio, which had been trying to lure an nfl team to the Alamodome for years. Oh and the images of the disgusting interior of the superdome where thousands of people were living for months was internationally infamous.
Well the city certainly had not recovered yet at this point really at all, but at least the team 1) came back to New Orleans and 2) upgraded themselves (they had previously been known as the “aints” due to their futility although they were decent in the early 2000s) to be a showpiece of the city.
@@elijahechicagobearsboyd5734 im from new orleans but this shit dont give you nothing to be happy about
Drew Brees saved New Orleans
As a Saints fan, I can say he truly did. GOAT
IKR a lot of people on a video about us vs the Vikings in the nfc championship about biased officiating and people were saying it was rigged and we won cause of hurricane Katrina but someone said Katrina was in 2005 and the 2006 saints weren’t good and the nfc was bad that year and I replied with :”we just made the nfc look bad cause of how good we are” those people are just salty that we won the Super Bowl
Soufflé Samuel no he didn’t. Drew brees is an average quarterback
That Guy I don’t think an “average” quarterback would have the most passing yards in NFL history. You sound like a fucking moron and biased as hell cause your a falcons fan
@@asadfalconsfan1851 Bears fan here. If Brees is "average" the Matt Ryan is mediocre. You sound like an imbecile with that statement.
Strange sight seeing Joe Horn as a teammate of Drew Brees.
Chris Kreager Yea, but his boyfriend is Jeff Garcia.😏
Often imagine would could have been if Horn had played with Brees in his prime. Horn was fucking amazing but had Aaron Brooks throwing it to him.
Man this was like our Super Bowl. Sad to say that about a divisional playoff win, but for a short period of time (3 more seasons until SB) this was our greatest achievement.
C. Who Dat I mean we still won tho so I’m proud of us making it to the championship game that year
Dill Pickle yeah but y’all lost sooo...
Dill Pickle also Minneapolis miracle
That Guy ok... but at least we’re in the playoffs
That Guy you falcons fans are the most cancerous fans in all of sports history
Who watching this after the divisional game?

Nino buzz Saints for life.

Ashton Cortese me
NOONE WITH MY NAME CAN BE A SAINTS FAN BE ASHAMED.
I came here for the sheldon brown hit.
Yeah I don’t blame you!
Just goes to show how great the saints offense can be and horrible their defense can be and still win games
EVANTUBE DH Not this time, they choking
Finally highlights of this game
the crown yelling DUUUUUEEEECCEE everytime he ran the ball always gave me chills
0:30 If that was today that would be a 15 yd Penalty and an automatic ejection
Nicholas Oakley 25 to life
It was actually a clean hit to the chest/stomach but I bet they would have still called a penalty now anyways. Players are afraid to hit that hard because of the refs
Yeah unfortunately you’re right even tho it was a clean hit
Sad isn't it? How wussified the nfl has become!
Lol it's such a clean hit too
As an Eagles fan, this loss stung but I remember this being a fantastic game. Back and forth, great plays on both sides.
Every time brees gets into the post season he gives the world a show
Only to have his defense fuck it up for em and refs
Not 2019 or 2020. 2018 they should of been in the super bowl though
As a Colts fan, I have to tip my hat to the Saints. They REALLY helped give New Orleans hope after Hurricane Katrina devestated their city.
😂 Who here after the infamous Bears kick???
lro001 technically we all are because it happened on Sunday and today is Wednesday of the next week
Sheldon Brown KILLED Reggie Bush! One of the hardest hits EVER! 🏈
Busch still played the whole game tho
What is with all the 2006 games lately, but I like it so keep it up they are great games.
REGGIE!!!!! Reggie Bush was sent to the Shadow Realm from that hit from Sheldon Brown. His name is written in the Death Note now!!!!😂💀
Man that hit on Reggie is LEGENDARY
Last Saints game I’ve gone to. Always a fan just broke. Who Dat!
Cole Tadlock how loud was Reggie browns hit

Yes. More of this, I love watching all the game highlight videos every Sunday. I want more classic game highlights!
Say no more!
The most famous hit
This game has a special place in my heart even tho I hate the eagles and don’t care for the saints either, but it was the first NFL game I ever watched. Didn’t really understand any rules but I found it so entertaining and became a huge football fanatic after watching this. Nostalgia overload
Bush scored on the famous reverse cluthcher. Good memories.😂⚜️💯
Y’all gotta have these games in full screen HD like they was on TV!
Mannnn! I remember this game. Was either my birthday or birthday weekend. Was gonna freeze and ice over. So we where at the bbq spot getting some bbq before it started freezing. Got home too watch this game. Great 16th birthday! Lol
I’m a Cowboys fan but I’ve always enjoyed watching the Saints. The playoffs can make or break a team.
me too especailly when they beat the eagirls lol
When you realize Jeff Garcia almost lead the eagles to the nfc championship game
When you realized how overrated and slow McNabb was. When Garcia can master a system in 6 months that McNabb had been in for 7 years and still had trouble with!
I miss this Eagles defense. All of their backs were physical and able to make plays.
Hail Mary at the end of the half by Brees completely debunks "Brees has a weak arm" theory.
because this was 13 years ago and he threw the ball about 55-60 yards in the air?
His arm was decent in his prime but today he at 41 he just cant do that anymore
I was at this game. Memorable experience
Bush must’ve said something about Bree’s momma cause that play was a set up 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Apparently Drew Brees doesn't have strong arm strength, yet he throws one of the best deep balls in football.
Things to takeaway from the game....Brees is Brees, Deuce was an amazing RB, Reggie was electric ⚡️ but fumbled and danced too much, Josh Bullocks was terrible (always), Jeff Garcia was a pretty good QB, Westbrook was fun too watch and Sean Dawkins could lay the wood. I was sad we lost Howard to the Eagles cause he was a good DE....I remember when Howard was drafted out of Kansas State and was teamed up with Joe Johnson as our bookends on the Saints...
The Dome was rocking that night and Bourbon Street was packed....helluva party 🎉
Its Brian Dawkins isn't it? Or is this another dawkins
Mamta Mishra you are right
Who is Sean Dawkins??
That hit on Reggie Bush was nasty! 🔥
I love my Saints. That ref seemed happy to call that false start call!! ;)
Yeah he surprisingly yanked his arm toward offense lol
Saints vs eagles had some good playoff games
Big Duece was bringing that pressure
That is really awsome
That’s crazy Man Jeff Garcia Rocking the Eagles Uniform
I remember this game like it was Yesterday
Man, I forgot how bad Fred Thomas was. Guy would either get toasted on a double move or get toasted on come back routes.
Great memories
First football game I ever saw 🙏
That boy deuce was nice asf!!!
Watching the BIRTH of an EMPIRE....I was at this game. Damn good game, WHO DAT !
1:02 I remember back in the day as the game wore on dudes got tired of trying to tackle Deuce he was such a beast.
Philadelphia, New Orleans, and Minnesota have all played each other many times in the playoffs
Do saints vs 49ers playoff game that was an instant classic
Man that's crazy that the Saints got a bye week after only going 10-6
Such a good clean hit on bush
Really hoping history repeats itself here.
It reminds of Steve smith burying von Miller I love Steve Smith sr I have met him he is a really nice guy and he has great manners what a nice man
i was at this game. ive never heard the dome as quiet as it was when bush got popped
Brees has been with the Saints for 10+ years, Jesus Christ where does the time go?
funny that you mention it...
2:13 what a bomb that was, almost 60 yards in the air. Jesus
Am I the only one seeing the Saints 70 holding on every play?
Joshua Marcik you could tell they wanted the saints to win this game
Haters
0:30 - That hit is the only thing I remember about this game lol... Reggie Bush getting the shit knocked out of him hahaha
do you have the complete game?
Yo that fake punt at 4:40 was sick
That throw at the end by Garcia was incredible. Sucks it was a penalty
lol around 4:00 mark every NO saints fans favorite opposing player, Hank Baskett.... thanks for blowing the onside kick for Indy in the Superbowl, we all still appreciate your stone hands that day
Why did Eagles punt on 4th and 15 with less than 2 minutes with the game/season on the line? Hail Mary!
Makes no sense to me
Andy Reid
Because he had 3 timeouts and thought defense can stop Brees and the offense
@@clickycal Yeah, haha Andy Reid at its best. He never took risks in the postseason and came up short in big games.
@@TheBid 2, actually
Love my Saints ❤️
Gonna happen again this weekend. I forgot how good of a game this was...
Saints always played a lot of the same teams in the playoffs. Eagles, Vikings, Seahawks more than once. Eagles and Vikings three times in the Brees era. Seahawks knew they would lose to the Saints later in 2020 and laid down to the Rams so the Saints could play a division rivals three times.
#91 looks like he forgot that he was playing defense lol at 7:03
We back here today.
Next week will feature the third postseason matchup between Drew Brees and the Eagles. The Saints won both of the prior games.
Yep can the Eagles get one finally
That’s because nick Foles wasn’t at QB
@@RKOViper1999 He was in 2013. I think the Saints win a tight game this Sunday.
Make it 3-0 brees vs birds
Eli apple is our new Fred Thomas smh
I think Carrott top was an underrated quarterback
But he definitely played good as the eagles quarterback this game and tuff as a $2 steak
6:08 the greatest play of Deuce McAllister's career IMO
I remember the 3rd and 1 at Saints 3, early in the 4th, the Eagles rookie guard Andrews was out. Eagle couldn't make 1 yard and was forced to kick the field goal. The Saints were fortunate. This to me would have turned this game.
Hard to believe it was 16 years ago.
Wish we would have got highlights of the 1992 playoff game between the Eagles & Saints.
Game is on youtube. Summers and Madden called it!
1992 was the first Saints/Eagles playoff match, and is so far the only Eagles playoff win against the Saints, who are 3-1 overall against Philly
Fox was still giving Dick Stockton playoff games in 2006? What the hell was wrong with them.
Anyone noticed that Brees almost gave THIS game away....🤣
4:42 just when you thought you had a chance to block the punt, the punter by the name of Steve Weatherford fakes you out like crazy and runs for a first down
Jesus I was 12 when this game happened I was so sad when we lost
11:00 I will never understand why Andy Reid punted that football...your defense was not stopping anything in the 2nd half...
1:40 DREW BREES THROWING BLOCKS??? Lol
Garcia Saved Philly's season! Why the heck they let him and Jeremiah Trotter go after the season!?
3:47 that Saint is still trying to find his ankles
Reggie bush... LOL!!! 0:30 jacked up!!
That hit @. 31 second was the beginning of Reggie Bush’s career going down the toilet
TheTastedFungus oh yeah right? He went all pro in 08 won a championship in 09 had his best year in 2012 , yeah his career went down the toilet.
yep, that super bowl toilet
Football looks like football back then. Notice how the players make the open field tackles competently. Also, the announcers are really good compared to Colingsworth, Buck, and Michaels.
both saints and bucs owns the sheagles in the playoffs lol
Let’s repeat this 2019 !!! WHO⚜️DAT
Why did the Eagles punt with 1:36 left?
