I’m only 10 minutes away from Knotts, and I cannot express how amazing Ghostrider is in the back row right before closing. Absolutely amazing and I’m glad it got the recognition it deserves!
BINGO! For most rides you want to be in the FRONT for the best experience (Xcelerator comes to mind ASAP - riding in the VERY front row makes it a completely different ride than sitting anywhere else). But Ghost is one of the few rides where being in the BACK makes for the best ride. You get whipped around like crazy.

After riding Ghostrider twice just recently (haven't been on it in a long time), I agree that it's the best coaster at Knotts. Long ride time, smooth without sacrificing intensity, great airtime, it just provides a lot of bang for your buck. :)

I find silver bullets’ cobra roll really intimidating with being an inverted coaster and all just from looking at it when you first enter the park, but it’s actually really smooth and quite enjoyable
Silver Bullet is quite smooth and enjoyable? No way is that true. Silver Bullet is the most insane ride on Earth. Ride it at night and in the very back row and you will definitely think differently. That ride took me 40 hours to recover.

i'm going to give y'all a history of knott's, cause I'm a nerd and know little useless things like this in my cluttered brain, and this is to justify having said information in my brain. so yes, this is knott's berry farm, an iconic southern california amusement park that's been open technically since the twenties. It's in orange county, the county just south of los angeles. it was a roadside carnival within a berry farm in the twenties, to attract families and patrons to walter knott's berry farm, which sold berries, jams, then later chicken pot pies. it became known to be a fun carnival, and became quite famous within southern california. then in the late 40s, walter knott decided to just focus on an amusement park. he had a knack and fascination with the old west (as well as a good business ethic), and first made the famous 'ghost town' region of the park, as well as exactly recreate an old west mining town that existed in the mojave desert in the 1880s, called calico. mr. knott purchased calico in the early 50s and exactly rebuilt all but 5 of the buildings that stood there in the 1880s, made a mini- mine train ride, and had one of the mine tunnels be safe for people to walk through. it's been a government owned park since 1955. it's open to the public, and is located just east of barstow off the i-15. it's really fun, and i highly recommend it if you wanna take a break from a road trip! anyways, he based the section of the park off the same design as calico. he also built an old fashioned locomotive ride, that had interior scenes of mining life and scenes of the wild west, continuously updating it with new animatronics and special effects. all of which had an educational side to it, so many schools took field trips here. in the 1960s, he built the log ride with the same idea as the locomotive, but as a log flume. it was the first big ride built there, and was an instant hit when it opened in 1969. it grabbed a lot of attention and excitement in the area, and made it quite famous. so the park continued to grow. when disneyland opened in 1955 just a couple miles southeast of knott's, there were concerns of knott's falling flat. but to no avail, it's business stayed strong, a few reasons being how unique it was, and it wasn't such a fancy place like disneyland was at the time (you had to wear suits and dresses and such in the early days of disneyland, it wasn't as cheap, etc.). it had been pretty successful for the rest of the century, noted as being one of the first amusement parks in america to have a halloween scary theme, knott's scary farm, at night. the park and company was continuously growing, adding new "sections" in the park and many more rides. then in the nineties, it's stock dipped drastically, and unfortunately business started waning. in 1997, the ohio amusement park company cedar fair bought the park, and worked closely with the knott company to complete certain things about the park; to reform it, and to keep it having the same old western charm while still providing huge, awesome modern day rides.
Backseat on ghost rider is hands down my favorite seat on the planet. I love the danger element so I miss getting bumped around before the retrack but still my favorite coaster by far. Also Montezuma was my first inverted coaster. Hopefully they never get rid of it!!!
I was so sad when I went to Knotts. It was my birthday and the last time we went Ghost rider was closed. When it was my birthday, it was closed. We figured out that it was gonna open on June or July or something like that. My father was super sad because he really wanted to go on.
My top 8(because I haven’t been on timberline or montezuma) 8.coast rider 7. Pony express (would be higher but too short) 6. Jaguar 5sierra sidewinder 4. Silver bullet 3.ghost rider 2. Hangtime 1.xcelerator
I rode ghost rider in July of 2015 right before they closed it to do the re track and refurbishing and holy shit that was a nightmarish experience. I’m used to wooden rollercoasters being rough and bumpy, but it straight up felt more like a car accident at some points especially since I was riding with someone else next to me. I didn’t know that they had redone it, so I was initially confused when it was put at the top of the list, let alone saying it was “smooth” 🤣
So glad to see you loved Ghostrider. It's honestly one of my favorite coasters of all time. And if you're able to, a night time ride on it is spectacular.
We just got back from our 4 park California trip. 35 new credits, Knotts was a great, fun park, but most Cedar Fair parks definitely outclass SF. It did on this trip and will on our 2 week East coast and midwestern trip in August. Shooting for 150 different coasters this year. Already up to 47, and have Cedar Point, Carowinds, Kings Island and Dominion, SF America and SF Great America, Darien Lake, Dorney, and Lake George. I may order a few shirts and see how many people give me a nod.
knott's berry farm was one of the first theme parks ive ever been to, as i live really close to it, and its just amazing! the food, the scenery, the rides, the entertainment, just everything about it is perfect!
Ghostrider was my favorite wooden coaster on earth BEFORE the upgrade. A lot of rollercoasters are intense, but few sustain their intensity like Ghostrider. It's a white-knuckle experience from start to finish! I wonder if that intensity survived the upgrade, as I think the bumpiness was part of the formula. Glad to see it on the top of this list.
0:44 According to Cedar Fair, Timberline Twister is the same thrill level as Goldstriker at CGA. (They both have a 4 out of 5 thrill rating, dunno why Goldstriker is said to provide the same thrill level as family coasters.)
Great list and I’m happy you found footage for Coast Rider. Knotts has a fantastic coaster collection and I’ll definitely have to ride Hangtime soon. Did you have a row preference on Hangtime?
you get some awesome ejector airtime after the holding break if you sit in the back row. Unfortunately every time I've gone on it they assign rows so you don't get to pick. Unless that's changed since April.
I'm 6 feet tall and rode Timberline Twister on a random day in August last year. All I did was politely ask the ride op if I was able to. She said yes, so I got in line and rode. Weirdly enough I ran into two enthusiasts from where I live (6 hours away, in Northern California) IN LINE for it. I had no idea they'd be at the park or even in Southern California. What a small world!!
Thank You Knotts Berry Farm. I would consider you guys a shelter for a baby womb called "timothy" who had nowhere to go. You guys did your job and kept my energy high about life and giving me high hopes. Maybe it's time for me to close this chapter.
I was 9 when I first went on the ghost rider, it was so amazing. It was at night and I will never forget the feeling of the rush and wind. That was the one and only time sadly :( Last time I went, it wasn’t opened. 😔
Some fair ratings. #10 - good call. My niece rode that forever. Silver Bullet was #4 here but it is #1 for me. I d agree it is one of the smoothest rides out there. I rode with someone who is not crazy about Coasters and she loved it and how smooth it was. Seeing what 1-3 were I am OK with Bullet being #4 but I don't agree. Xcelerator is a far different ride in the VERY front row compared to any other. Ghost Rider is awesome to go on during a warm Summer Night
I've been on Jaguar while the Montezuma cart was going. Front seat too- I was lucky. When it's going through, the loop feels like it's shrunken. What I'm trying to say is it feels like you can touch the cart- it's really cool and worth seeing.
My favourite was Silver Bullet, but Jaguar is pretty good for the view! I wasn’t thinking about Motezuma and Jaguar, I was thinking about Jaguar and Silver Bullet! Their paths collide, and I was imagining the two riders from the different rides touching with hands, like the famous Michelangelo painting.
The Boomerang was nothing special. This is my home park and I always skipped The Boomerang because it was rough and loud and just not fun anymore. Hangtime is a perfect replacement !
10. As a kid, my daycare went to Knott's a lot and this was really the main roller coaster we could have went on so safe to say I loved it. 9. Not a big fan of it really. It's just that one roller coaster that's there that I just never feel like going on. 8. By far the most satisfying roller coast to go on in the park, however it's a shame they took out the attraction that the Jaguar statues at the end would breathe fire occassionally. It's a good first ride for people. 7. Was not a big fan of it as a kid due to it being so short. I come to appreciate it as now that I'm older though. 6. Great ride for kids or people who don't like extreme rides. 5. If it's your first time, it's nerve wracking at first and it'll take some use getting use to especially going backwards. But still all an all a great ride. 4. Silver Bullet is a staple in the park and a MUST if you ever visit there. Unlike other rides like this, it won't make you sick but it will leave your head spinning a little. 3. By FAR the best roller coaster and my favorite roller coaster. Although it's short, the substitute for thrill is not there. I work right in front of this ride and Supreme Scream so I hear the riders a lot. 2. The Knotts employee break room is right behind Hangtime so imagine having to hear people freak out over the brake at the top. As a ride itself, it'll take some getting use to but it's a good ride. 1. An absolute MUST. Your day at Knott's is not completed if you did not go on Ghostrider.
I like your list! Here’s mine: 1. Xcelerator 2. Hangtime 3. Ghostrider 4. Montezooma’s Revenge 5. Silver Bullet 6. Pony Express 7. Jaguar 8. Coast Rider 9. Timberline Twister I put Xcelerator as my number 1 because of the launch. I would’ve put Ghostrider higher if I got airtime in the back seat. Also when I rode Silver Bullet (last time I went was October 2018) it was incredibly rough and shaky for me.
Knott’s has some of my favorite rides! I love how there keeping Montazooma’s Revenge up and running. Ghost Rider is such a amazing ride, especially in the back seat!
I HATED the montezuma coster! My arms were too small to hang on to the bar so the force of the ride to go up the loop PUSHED my head to the front, and then pushed it backwards, making my head go FAAAAAAR back.
I went there in 2014 before the refurbishment of Ghost Rider and the addition of Hangtime. And I haven't ridden Sierra Sidewinder yet because I was too nauseous to ride it. So for now, my favorite ride is Montezooma's Revenge followed by Xcelerator, Pony Express, Coast Rider, Jaguar, Silver Bullet, Ghost Rider, and Boomerang.
im going to knotts berry farm for the first time next week and this was definitely useful. i didnt know Ghost Rider would be so high on the list so now im *very* excited to get on that one!!!
Just be prepared for a looooong wait. The sign may say two hours, but that usually means it's a 3- 3 1/2 hour wait. Unless you get there before most people, I'd save that one for last or else you'll miss out on the others
The Goose of Moose really?? in that case ill consider buying a fast pass. waiting in lines is the absolute worst part about amusement parks. thanks for the heads up
Platinum Season Pass Holder! Get there before the park opens & ride your favorites first! We start with Pony Express, then double back to Ghost Rider. Then cruise back through the Boardwalk area, ride Hand Time & proceed to Fiesta Village for some yummy food & drinks 🍺. Next is Silver Bullet & then Timber Mountain log ride! By then, we’re done & head to Mrs. Knott’s chicken dinner! ❤️
Only been to California once, and when I went a few years back, I went to Dinsey, Universal, and Six flags and all of those were great. When it came to Knotts, we made a not great decision to go to the knotts water park for the first half of the day, then roller coasters second half, ended up spending TWO AND HALF HOURS waiting in line for a 20 second ride (xcelerator), so i dont have great memories of it. Hopefully coming back this summer though
I agree on the Top 4 rides. I am a massive fan of Silver Bullet and would have put that at #2 bumping Xcelerator and Hang Time down a notch. But I am OK with it being #4. Ghostrider #1 is 100% right. The reason the wait can be 2-ish hours is that unlike rides 2-4 that last maybe 40-50 seconds, Ghostrider last 2:30. That is more than the other 3 rides in the T4. Combined. Riding it at night is even more amazing, especially in the Summer on a nice warm night
1:09 It sure was! I loved riding this as a kid, to me it felt like it was a real “big kid” coaster 😄even to this day if I, for some reason, have a dream I’m on a roller coaster, it’s usually this one!! Haha

he had a knack and fascination with the old west (as well as a good business ethic), and first made the famous 'ghost town' region of the park, as well as exactly recreate an old west mining town that existed in the mojave desert in the 1880s, called calico. mr. knott purchased calico in the early 50s and exactly rebuilt all but 5 of the buildings that stood there in the 1880s, made a mini- mine train ride, and had one of the mine tunnels be safe for people to walk through. it's been a government owned park since 1955. it's open to the public, and is located just east of barstow off the i-15. it's really fun, and i highly recommend it if you wanna take a break from a road trip!
anyways, he based the section of the park off the same design as calico. he also built an old fashioned locomotive ride, that had interior scenes of mining life and scenes of the wild west, continuously updating it with new animatronics and special effects. all of which had an educational side to it, so many schools took field trips here. in the 1960s, he built the log ride with the same idea as the locomotive, but as a log flume. it was the first big ride built there, and was an instant hit when it opened in 1969. it grabbed a lot of attention and excitement in the area, and made it quite famous. so the park continued to grow.
when disneyland opened in 1955 just a couple miles southeast of knott's, there were concerns of knott's falling flat. but to no avail, it's business stayed strong, a few reasons being how unique it was, and it wasn't such a fancy place like disneyland was at the time (you had to wear suits and dresses and such in the early days of disneyland, it wasn't as cheap, etc.). it had been pretty successful for the rest of the century, noted as being one of the first amusement parks in america to have a halloween scary theme, knott's scary farm, at night. the park and company was continuously growing, adding new "sections" in the park and many more rides.
then in the nineties, it's stock dipped drastically, and unfortunately business started waning. in 1997, the ohio amusement park company cedar fair bought the park, and worked closely with the knott company to complete certain things about the park; to reform it, and to keep it having the same old western charm while still providing huge, awesome modern day rides.
Backseat on ghost rider is hands down my favorite seat on the planet. I love the danger element so I miss getting bumped around before the retrack but still my favorite coaster by far. Also Montezuma was my first inverted coaster. Hopefully they never get rid of it!!!
I live 25 min away from this place been there like 50 times
Aiden Smith lucky
Me to I live in whittier
anyone else like ghostrider more before the smoothing?? i thought the roughness of the original track made it just that more exciting
I was so sad when I went to Knotts. It was my birthday and the last time we went Ghost rider was closed. When it was my birthday, it was closed. We figured out that it was gonna open on June or July or something like that. My father was super sad because he really wanted to go on.
My top 8(because I haven’t been on timberline or montezuma)
8.coast rider
7. Pony express (would be higher but too short)
6. Jaguar
5sierra sidewinder
4. Silver bullet
3.ghost rider
2. Hangtime
1.xcelerator
I rode ghost rider in July of 2015 right before they closed it to do the re track and refurbishing and holy shit that was a nightmarish experience. I’m used to wooden rollercoasters being rough and bumpy, but it straight up felt more like a car accident at some points especially since I was riding with someone else next to me. I didn’t know that they had redone it, so I was initially confused when it was put at the top of the list, let alone saying it was “smooth” 🤣
I love all of your vids! Can't wait to see more!
So glad to see you loved Ghostrider. It's honestly one of my favorite coasters of all time. And if you're able to, a night time ride on it is spectacular.
i love this man he is so innocent and hes a top 2 youtuber for coasters
I actually managed to get the Timberline Twister credit when I went even though I’m a few inches over the max height limit
Once again, I marvel at your chosen analogies.
Why did this get on my recommendation when I going there for my birthday on Sunday
Oooju no July 21st
Ghostrider was my favorite wooden coaster on earth BEFORE the upgrade. A lot of rollercoasters are intense, but few sustain their intensity like Ghostrider. It's a white-knuckle experience from start to finish! I wonder if that intensity survived the upgrade, as I think the bumpiness was part of the formula. Glad to see it on the top of this list.
its absolutley great just smooth now
I’m going next week for the first time so I appreciate this video so much
Wow - this park looks amazing!! 👍👍👍
Knotts berry farm is definitely on my bucket list!!!...👍🏼❤️🥰👏🏻😎💯👌🏼😍😘🤩😊😀😄🎢🎢🎢🎢🎢🎢🎢🎢🎢🎢
Owlcitylove2001 Booboo500 why me
y so many emojis
0:44 According to Cedar Fair, Timberline Twister is the same thrill level as Goldstriker at CGA. (They both have a 4 out of 5 thrill rating, dunno why Goldstriker is said to provide the same thrill level as family coasters.)
i went to knotts berry farm 2 days ago. my top two favorite was silver bullet and xellorator, or whoever you spell it aha.
Same! ✌️
7:28 and then intamin made rita queen of flops
Great list and I’m happy you found footage for Coast Rider. Knotts has a fantastic coaster collection and I’ll definitely have to ride Hangtime soon. Did you have a row preference on Hangtime?
you get some awesome ejector airtime after the holding break if you sit in the back row. Unfortunately every time I've gone on it they assign rows so you don't get to pick. Unless that's changed since April.
I don't think it's changed
Definitely front row
I'm 6 feet tall and rode Timberline Twister on a random day in August last year. All I did was politely ask the ride op if I was able to. She said yes, so I got in line and rode. Weirdly enough I ran into two enthusiasts from where I live (6 hours away, in Northern California) IN LINE for it. I had no idea they'd be at the park or even in Southern California. What a small world!!
I haven't been to Knott's, Swap Jaguar and Coast Rider as well as HangTime and Xcelerator and you've got a perfect list from what I can see.
Hello I'm watching this is the Cornovirus I miss knotts
It’s not a TPC video without a food comparison. XD
Thank You Knotts Berry Farm.
I would consider you guys a shelter for a baby womb called "timothy" who had nowhere to go.
You guys did your job and kept my energy high about life and giving me high hopes.
Maybe it's time for me to close this chapter.
My first coaster ride was on Ghost rider 😂
YAY! WE ARE IN FOR A TREAT!
Great job with the music, it makes the whole video even better than the stellar reviews.
SIDEWINDER is a one of a kind roller coaster,is a family coaster but it Carrie's quite a punch,I.love this coaster.
I am going their next Thursday and these are great tips!
I was 9 when I first went on the ghost rider, it was so amazing. It was at night and I will never forget the feeling of the rush and wind. That was the one and only time sadly :( Last time I went, it wasn’t opened. 😔
With Knotts being my home park, I couldn’t agree more with this list. 👍🏼
This park is my childhood theme park. Knott’s Berry Farm’s coaster never get old to me.❤
Yess I've been waiting for this 😆
Some fair ratings.
Timberline Twister was my first coaster and one of my very first memories. I threw up and we had to go home. 😂
Nobody
Theme park crazy I like my rides like I like my spaghetti
I like to put shredded cheddar cheese and sugar in my spaghetti
Edward Isom
Sugar? 🤮
Aware 76 shut up it’s a good underrated combo imo I hate spaghetti without sugar and hamburger meat in the sauce it’s too hard to eat
🤮
@@theunknown0887 I like to put shredded cheddar cheese on my rollercoaster, that is the story about the time i got kick out of knotts berry farm
The Boomerang was nothing special. This is my home park and I always skipped The Boomerang because it was rough and loud and just not fun anymore. Hangtime is a perfect replacement !
my first rollar coaster was a ride called The Coastersaurus at Legoland in California
I was waiting for this can't wait for you to hit 100k congratulations
Update: I’m going there today
Omg I’m watching this because I miss Knotts 🥺🥺❤️❤️❤️❤️ & california
3:51 I don't wanna be mean or anything but in that picture it doesn't look like ur doing to well
Theme Park Crazy you are amazing keep up the awesome videos
Hey do y’all consider sidewinder as a kiddie ride?
Totally agree. Ghost Rider is one of the best wooden coasters I’ve been on.
Knott’s berry farm is one of the like 5 parks I’ve been to in America. And I love it
I've just realised that Montezooma's Revenge has the word Zoom in it.
?
I like your list! Here’s mine:
1. Xcelerator
2. Hangtime
3. Ghostrider
4. Montezooma’s Revenge
5. Silver Bullet
6. Pony Express
7. Jaguar
8. Coast Rider
9. Timberline Twister
I put Xcelerator as my number 1 because of the launch.
Agreed! I always sit in the back or in the middle when I ride Ghostrider
I HATED the montezuma coster! My arms were too small to hang on to the bar so the force of the ride to go up the loop PUSHED my head to the front, and then pushed it backwards, making my head go FAAAAAAR back.
coaster*
When is your Top 10 most missed defunct coasters video coming out?
I went there in 2014 before the refurbishment of Ghost Rider and the addition of Hangtime. And I haven't ridden Sierra Sidewinder yet because I was too nauseous to ride it. So for now, my favorite ride is Montezooma's Revenge followed by Xcelerator, Pony Express, Coast Rider, Jaguar, Silver Bullet, Ghost Rider, and Boomerang.
Looking forward to seeing this video! Keep up the good work!
Great video to help me plan my trip to California! Hopefully you get to SDC to experience Time Traveler soon!!
i remember going for school in 5th grade i absolutely loved silver bullet and supreme scream! i actually pussied out on hang time lol
im going to knotts berry farm for the first time next week and this was definitely useful. i didnt know Ghost Rider would be so high on the list so now im *very* excited to get on that one!!!
Just be prepared for a looooong wait. The sign may say two hours, but that usually means it's a 3- 3 1/2 hour wait. Unless you get there before most people, I'd save that one for last or else you'll miss out on the others
The Goose of Moose really?? in that case ill consider buying a fast pass. waiting in lines is the absolute worst part about amusement parks. thanks for the heads up
I’m really excited to visit this park. Going in April!
The only spinning Mack coaster I have ridden was the Time Traveler at SDC
I agree on the Top 4 rides. I am a massive fan of Silver Bullet and would have put that at #2 bumping Xcelerator and Hang Time down a notch. But I am OK with it being #4. Ghostrider #1 is 100% right. The reason the wait can be 2-ish hours is that unlike rides 2-4 that last maybe 40-50 seconds, Ghostrider last 2:30. That is more than the other 3 rides in the T4. Combined. Riding it at night is even more amazing, especially in the Summer on a nice warm night
I just realized, the first ever rollercoaster I’ve ever ridden is the 10th roller kiddie coaster.
1:09 It sure was! I loved riding this as a kid, to me it felt like it was a real “big kid” coaster 😄even to this day if I, for some reason, have a dream I’m on a roller coaster, it’s usually this one!! Haha
