"do you like the person you're becoming when you're around your partner" was a great reminder for me if I'm wasting time in any kind of relationship. Thank you so much Jenn for the video
As the eldest sibling myself, your talks always make me feel like I have someone older and wiser to guide me and I couldn't be happier! Thank you for being our internet big sister, Jenn!
Jenn your growth is so profound, and I feel like I've been along with you on parts your journey. From watching you, I’ve found that growing up can mean a lot of things for me. It doesn’t mean I should become somebody completely new and stop loving the things I used to love. It means I’ve just added more things to my list. When we’re children, we used to think that when we grew up, we would no longer be vulnerable. However, to grow up is to accept vulnerability, to be alive is to be vulnerable. This is my little sidenote; even though this year academically was tough but rewarding, I feel like I’ve grown so much and learnt so much, and from watching you and seeing where you've started to where to are now, I can say I am grateful that you shared your journey. I am happy with where I am now, but continually working on myself. I just turned twenty and there is still a whole lot of life ahead for me to experience, but I guess that’s part of the process! xoxo
This comment is making me smile so big. I'm so pleased to hear that you're working on yourself so diligently especially at only twenty! I could only imagine what kind of person you'll be once you're my age. x
Not being my best friend’s best friend was something that I struggled a lot with in my early 20s. Eventually I came to terms with it once I came to realization that my friendship with her didn’t need to compete with her other friendships. She and I have our own unique, beautiful friendship and even if we’re not always number 1 in the other person’s life, that is still ok.
Thank you Jenn for being so open about mental health and being so authentic when talking about struggles we may face in relationships! We all look up to you so much
"Life is just better with the right person" I love this so much. You're truly inspiring. And the way you addressed these issues really changed the way I see things in life. Thank you, jenn.
Jen, I think I can speak for everybody here when I say you've been a pillar for us with your sensitivity and seeing you becoming the woman you are today is touching. Growing with you for all this years creates this strong bond that Im happy anytime you send us your advice and opinions about life. Greetings from Italy ❤️
the way you talk now sounds and feels more gentle ever since baby lenonn arrived 😌❤ it's been nice seeing these little changes in you as u go through motherhood. always love listening to you and hear your thoughts through all your different phases!
Going through a full blown identity crisis these days. I find myself questioning everything ~ my relationship, my career, my overall decisions, what I want vs. what I need. I don't know if I can keep going like this, everything just feels so heavy.
I wish I could give you a hug. I know it may not seem like it'll happen, but things will settle down and you'll find that path that's meant for you. You got this. x
I'm about the same age as Jenn and don’t necessarily see her as an older sister, but everything she talks about is so relatable and always helps me find new helpful perspective on real life topics. I feel like I’ve grown up with her. Keep doing you Jenn ❤
The way you talk about marriage with Ben is so inspiring. I'm so happy you are each other's person and your love and growth together is amazing to see. You guys are my standards for relationships :' )
I'm an ahjumah that watches your videos. It's been incredible to watch your journey on UA-cam and become the woman you are today. And though I'm older, there are so many nuggets of wisdom in your videos that have helped me through some dark times. Your a bright light for so many of us, Jenn. Thank you! ♥️
Beautiful thoughts on marriage and commitment being a rich foundation to grow on 👌🏼 I see marriage and long term devotion to someone as an exciting adventure and challenge with fruitful rewards along the way.
I agree too that having that partner to rely on through thick and thin has made me feel stronger and we rely on each other when we both need to fill each others cup, especially in parenting. I relied so much on my husband to help with my daughters. I cannot agree more with what you said.
My family was never really the open and sentimental type, and I am the eldest sibling so I never really gotten any support or advice on how to tackle life. You have been a great help and comfort Jenn. I know we're not related but you definitely are my online big sister and we're all lucky to have you! Thank you so much!
The part about comparing yourself to others and about what it takes to compare yourself to them…taking every part of their life the good and the bad really resonated for me. Like you’re so right, everyone has their struggles, weaknesses, unseen challenges and problems physically or mentally. Would we really rather be them and have their life? What we see is is usually always only the tip of the iceberg of a persons life and their overall situation. Helps me to focus on me and my situation and to keep a things in a good perspective. Loved this video so much. ❤️
I love this video ! Some of those questions has obvious answers that we all know already but we just keep denying it ! And you just wanna hear it from someone who you trust (like Jenn) to feel like yeah its time to change things/feelings !!!!

I'm currently watching this as I turn 27 today. Every piece of your advice resonates and hits home for me. Jenn - you're truly a bright light who has been so open and vulnerable with us over the past years. Thank you so so much
Thank you Jenn for doing a girl talk!!!! It’s like listening to my wise older sister that I never had! Love you and I’m so proud of you mama Jenn!!! You’re doing amazing with baby Lennon and are so strong while tackling motherhood!! ❤️
I totally agree to the tips on how to make friends in a new city as an adult. Few years ago, I moved to another city because of work and I only hung out with my boss because he was the only one I knew in the city. I was depressed back then so I began to explore the city on my own. I eventually went out to clubs alone not to hook up anyone but to have fun with myself dancing and get to meet some new people. One night, I saw a girl shuffling with glowing smile and while I was thinking that this girl is amazing, she talked to me first that she thinks that I'm amazing. We enjoyed the rest of the night together and we became friends. Within a week, she introduced me to her friends and we became this group that do everything together, from movie night on a week day to weekends night out. We even planned our holiday trips together. I had so much fun with them and this will be remembered as my 'young, wild&free' period as I'm not that young anymore and we are living in different countries now. We still keep in touch as life long friends and I'm forever grateful for the night I met one friend. So be brave, just be yourself, and find one right person. Everything else will work out then.
Love and appreciate this girl talk so much! I felt like I had been alone on the continuous search for a best friend from elementary school through to college and beyond. Your words were so encouraging. Also, I love your advice on learning how to express my thoughts better. I feel like as far as I can recall any life memory it’s been ones of me just having urgent longings, just searching... searching for belonging, close friendship, purpose, ways to heal, but especially for the right words to express myself. I need to work on this and I will definitely take your advice to read more, and to listen more.
1:49 I think the biggest question is do you like the person you're becoming when you're around this person. 1:55 I think that last question is ultimately the reason why I left all my previous relationships I didn't like the fact that I was angry and resentful I didn't like that I was insecure and jealous I didn't like the fact that I was crying and throwing shit. These were all symptoms that something was up. 2:11 I clearly had a lot of mental maturity to grow into and I definitely made mistakes. 2:26 It's worth having like a deep and honest conversation about where this relationship is going. If both of you guys are stubborn and not willing to change then you just need to see the writing on the wall and leave the relationship. 3:48 Since that moment I was kind of on a quest to find a best friend and I felt this urgency to find someone to fill in that slot. 3:58 You want to have like your best friend. You want to have a boyfriend so that it appears that your life is complete. 4:04 As I've continued living my life, I realized actually you're going to have a lot of best friends in your life. And some are going to filter in and out some are going to last a lot longer. 4:53 Everyone is always terrified to make the first move. But if someone makes the first move and says hi. The people that receive that introduction, They're always pretty open to it. 5:50 I think it's all about finding interests within people and building on top of that. 6:42 Two brains are way better than one. We are social creatures as well. It's so nice to have someone that you can lean on through thick and thin. 6:58 I think parenthood has been one of the most enlightening chapters of my life. And seeing Ben as a dad has been incredible. I see him in a whole different light. like he has been my rock and my anchor. Especially during this emotionally tumultuous time and it just reassured to me. 8:42 This obviously takes a lot of time but i think consistency definitely will make huge strides in your ability to communicate. 8:54 There have been so many times where an author has expressed the exact thing that I've been wanting to express in the perfect sentence I'll highlight that and I'll keep it and That's definitely expanded my ability to communicate how I feel. 9:56 It's just your brain lying to you and saying that 'Oh if only you were this person, everything would be fine' No. Not at all. Everyone has their demons that they're working with or their struggles that they're going through.
So many helpful bits as always! I definitely struggle with the best friend question and the comparing yourself one but that tip about comparing and getting the whole identity rather than just choosing the best bits is mind-blowing. There's definitely people I always compare myself to but there are parts of them I definitely would not like to keep and that really helps!
I love that advice of if you're going to compare don't just pick and and choose, take on the whole person the good, the bad and the ugly. Definitely makes it seem even more pointless to compare once you take that into account! Thanks Jenn!
i hardly ever leave comments on youtube but jenn, thank you for being my internet big sister and for being open about mental health. this year had taken a toll on me and i’m so glad that you exist to share your perspectives on life. listening to you speak is like having sunshine in the dark of the night 💫
Such a good point... to reflect on one's own *reactions & feelings.* Maybe they should be *validated* instead of "I'm just being too [insert self gaslighting], let me ignore this red flag" ♡ *Lovely* advice, thank you
Jenn I’ve been a fan since clothes encounters! It’s been amazing to watch you grow. I really needed this video today and I’m shocked that strangers on the internet have the same questions as I do. Thank you for being so open and vulnerable.
I can't speak for everyone but what I interpreted from the "what's the point of being in a marriage" question, was not a "constant change in relationships vs being with one person for a long time" type dilema, but rather a "being with a person for a long time vs being with a person for a long time BUT married to them" type
As someone who is 2nd in a line of 6 kids (🤯) and the oldest girl, I’ve always been the big sister - but I always wondered what it would be like to have one myself. You’ve definitely become a figure of that for me, and I greatly appreciate your vulnerability and openness with us ♥️ it helps more than you know!
Seeing how many older sisters there are like me… it’s so nice. It’s so nice to know that you’re not alone in whatever problems you have. And with Jenn, she really helps us come through it as well. Thank you Jenn for helping all of us and clearing our minds ☺️
i always love your girl talks :”) i rlly needed to hear this, especially the questions about new friends and articulating thoughts and feelings. sending all my love to u!!!
this video truly felt like a big sis conversation while drinking a cup of tea 🤍 felt like you were talking to my heart! thank you so much for this jenn, you are amazing!
Omg, Jenn, I’m sooo happy I found u on the internet YEARS ago! I have a deep respect for u as a person and just wanted to remind u, yet again, how much of a positive impact u have on other people’s life❤️ love u!
i’ve been binge watching a ton of your videos the past few days bc i’m going through a lot, but your voice and energy has always been so soothing and uplifting. especially this video, your saying all the things i need to hear, and your helping me gather the thoughts in my head. my anxiety has been killing me but seeing you handle everything with such grace and persistence, and always putting everything in the most eloquent way… thank you for everything you do! 💜 everyone around you is so lucky to have you
Jenn, I found your channel many months ago by your "What I Eat In A Week" and I've fallen in love ever since. (binged all of your other videos lol) Your personality, transparency and maturity is so admirable. I'm 24, and I'm just trying to figure everything out. My love life, therapy, career, etc. To see someone SO loving, open and just every single thing about you that you share with us- being soooo open about mental health, and the BS that comes with this life is SO refreshing. Thank you for sharing your life with us!
Love you Jenn! Thank you for being so honest on this motherhood journey you're on. And love the last bit of advice on not comparing yourself to others, never thought of it that way!
It's always so lovely to hear you speak about subjects that are relatable. And even when they aren't it is nice to hear how we can 'deal' with this problem if we ever come across it. Much love to you♥️
I just want say thank you for this video. I really needed this in my life I've been single for 3 years now honestly I have a lot of anxiety going back to dating again 🙃 especially when it comes my toxic environment. Thanks for speaking on mental health it means so much to me.
Ugh when you started getting choked up about marriage and Ben T_T. I am so happy you have found the best partner to go through life's chapters with you. It really gets me excited about marriage and motherhood with my current partner.
Momma Jenn always dropping that wisdom 😭 love the bit about comparing yourself to others, I’ve struggled sm w/this for years & have never thought to think of it in this way
Ugh, really every single piece of advice that you're giving is so true to my heart at this point. I can really feel how much you've thought and worked through each question through your own life. Really thank you for sharing your experiences and learnings.
You remind me so much of my big sister and that's why I love watching your videos and listening to your advices. I get to learn a lot of things from you as much as I also get to learn from my big sis. I feel like I'm also growing with you as a person and as a mom. Thank you, Jen! I'm so glad I found your channel 6 years ago. 😌💙
Omg I'm so motivated and I almost cried😭😭 Jenn I'm really happy that I watched your video today and you are such an amazing person. I can feel a bit how much effort you put and how long it took to be a person you are right now, who can really help people to grow healthy mindset. Thank you so much, genuinely. Love from Korea
woow this video is very insightful for so many people! and yea as someone who married, I completely agree with you! Marriage can look so scary, but actually it's wonderful when you marry the right one! Everything just getting better and better 😄
The last part about comparing yourself with others really resonated with me. And that method you used really helped me and I do feel healed from that stronghold. Thanks Jenn. I love you. ❤️ That part really meant alot to me.
That was the clearest and most helpful Q&A I have seen on youtube! I think your storytelling skills, journaling, and reading have helped you be able to express yourself so clearly. Thanks for sharing some wisdom.
Jenn, we are the same age but I still get big sis vibes! Your calm energy and the fact that you are taking on the challenge of motherhood like a boss is so inspiring
Going through a rough break up right now. We were overall pretty good for each other and had a great friendship, but hearing you talk about your marriage when to know if you're wasting time in a relationship was really reassuring that this break up is for the best.
Finding your channel was the absolute best part of 2021, thank you for all of your advice, being so open & honest and sharing so many intimate parts of your life. Thank you so so much!!
I love girl talk videos! It’s so nice to hear people’s thoughts and opinions on the most mundane things. One thing I want to add to the question about marriage you might not have considered! I think you’re operating under the assumption that people who don’t get married switch partners and typically aren’t committed to one person, which in my experience isn’t the case at all! The reason a lot of people don’t get married is exactly what you said in the beginning, it has a lot of antiquated origins, but the biggest aspect I think is that people feel like they can have everything a married couple has without the institution of marriage! I definitely think that’s the case from an emotional and romantic point of view, but from a legal perspective I’m still undecided. For anyone reading this and asking themselves the same question: marriage doesn’t have to be a romantic or emotional choice and honestly I don’t think it should be! It can absolutely be just like any other contract you sign. Here are some things you might not have considered about marriage that might help you: Will you be allowed to make medical decisions for your partner? Will you even be allowed in the hospital room outside of visiting hours? How does having kids factor into your decision? Shared finances? Shared businesses? How would it affect home ownership? What about debt? I really like the idea of prenups for everyone, not just wealthy people. Divorces are long and messy but with prenups you can set the terms of your marriage + a potential divorce in an official capacity and it can include literally whatever you both want it to include. Depending on what country you get married in and where you’re filing for divorce, certain laws can really screw you over. After a divorce, can you still be held responsible for debt your spouse created while you were married? These are all incredibly important things to consider when you want to decide whether marriage is right for your relationship. You might’ve married your last long term partner if it had worked out between you, but that doesn’t mean you have to feel the same way about every long term partner. That doesn’t mean you’re not committed to the person.
Jenn, I really resonated with your answer to the first question. I’m in my first relationship right now and I think he’s a great person but I don’t like who I am when I’m with him. I throw things and yell, kind of like you said you experienced. I want to work on it for this relationship and myself. What were some resources you used or still use for building that emotional maturity? Books? Also, I just started therapy so maybe what would be topics to bring up on this? I feel like I see myself in you and I would really appreciate the advice ❤️
oh man, you really are the internet’s big sister. literally these were all things i wished i could ask of an older friend and i feel like so many new perspectives opened up. thank you for making videos like these❣️😭
Why does every video you upload feel like it's tailored and made for me? 🥺 After watching I always feel a sense of, "Ahhh, thank you Jenn. I needed to hear that." 💕
I’m not sure I agree with “do you like the person you’re becoming” because I believe in taking responsibility for your own actions. No one can make you feel or do anything you don’t want to, so decide whether the person you’re with is someone you want to be with and then decide how you can grow to be a better partner for them if the relationship is worth it. If you aren’t ready to look within, then leave the relationship and another relationship will come along when you’re ready.
++++1 to the reading part. I recently just started picking up books again rather than just watch videos about everything, and it truly is such a profound difference. Going through a story and then reading a quote that embodies everything you’re feeling is so life changing. You can read it over and over again on the same page until it sinks in, seeing those words in front of you. Thanks for sharing, Jenn. You truly are the big sis I’ve never had. ❤️
Hi Jenn, thanks so much for this video, your content feeds my soul every time. You are my absolute favorite creator. i fell in love with reading because of you, I learned to be honest about my emotions because of you and so much more. please could you do a video about your relationship with Ben, when you guys met and all the things that made you know he was the one. i am at a point in my life right now where I am actually ready to settle with a life partner (a serious relationship) but I don't even know what to look out for. i don't have a big sister (except you) to ask or talk to about it but I love and trust you, and I would love to hear your love story again and some advice too.
Oh gosh I’ve been in the longest time lacking a strike of inspiration. It’s so long that I forget the exact feeling of it. And damn I felt it watching this video. Idk how Jenn can inspire me every time. It feels so good to just hear somebody repeat the idea that life doesn’t happen me; I can make decisions to make it happen!
I hate it when people define their relationship with how long they've known a person. It doesn't mean anything when it's nonexistent today. What you mean to each other in the present.
This was so on point with my insecurities and worries in life. The best advice. Thank you Jenn, you truly are the soul sister especially through these hard times!
Regarding the 1st question, based on personal experience, I think one should also consider whether ROCD (relationship ocd) plays a role in your possible doubts
Ahhhhhhh, I'm so lucky that I found you. My life has literally changed after I started watching your videos. You're the most unfiltered person on UA-cam I've ever seen. I only & only want the best for you, because you deserve the best. Just wishing your cuteee little family an eternity of happiness together 🤍🧿✨.
All these answers were so well put together. I really enjoyed the way you talked about them. Great perspective to look at things. Also great reminders for us all too! Even though it is called Girl Talk, I totally think these can apply to anyone in general too. Really like videos like this!
"do you like the person you're becoming when you're around your partner" was a great reminder for me if I'm wasting time in any kind of relationship. Thank you so much Jenn for the video

6:58 I think parenthood has been
one of the most enlightening chapters of my life.
And seeing Ben as a dad
has been incredible.
I see him in a whole different light. like he has been my rock and my anchor.
Especially during this emotionally tumultuous time
and it just reassured to me.
8:42 This obviously takes a lot of time but i think consistency definitely will make huge strides in your ability to communicate.
8:54 There have been so many times where an author has expressed the exact thing that I've been
wanting to express in the perfect sentence I'll highlight that and I'll keep it and That's definitely
expanded my ability to communicate how I feel.
Absolutely! I'm happy I could help! x
I love the maturity you show in responses. I wish I had a big sister like you to bounce things off of.
The part where you talk about how good of a father Ben is ❤️ you two are so lucky and I wish you nothing but the best 💜
Ugh when you started getting choked up about marriage and Ben T_T. I am so happy you have found the best partner to go through life's chapters with you. It really gets me excited about marriage and motherhood with my current partner.
we are being blessed by multiple uploads this week!! i hope you're taking a chance to rest too jenn
I am so in awe of how well spoken and articulate you are.❤️ Loved this video Jenn!
It is amazing to me how Jenn has been a comfort zone for many of us through out the years. Thank you, Jenn 💛✨
The last answer was so sobering but like a much needed breath of fresh air. Thanks Jenn
Thank you so much. I just moved halfway across the world to a new city and this really resonated with me. You are amazing Jenn
Love the video and this comment section! Thank you Jenn for bringing so much positivity to our lives 🤍✨
That was the clearest and most helpful Q&A I have seen on youtube! I think your storytelling skills, journaling, and reading have helped you be able to express yourself so clearly. Thanks for sharing some wisdom.
Writing and reading is the key to express my thoughts. It was really helpful advice to me! Thank you Jenn❤️
Your q&a’s are so good, thank you for all of the amazing advice ❤️
Aww I'm so glad you feel that way. n_n;
"a rich foundation, that stuff can grow from" - simple yet so so true
It's not scary to be alone. It's scary to be in a relationship with men. I'm the happiest I ever been single.
YES! This comment 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
That doesn’t mean you’re not committed to the person.
you have no idea how important it was to get to hear your answer to the last question, thank you so much truly!
I liked the way you spoke about journaling and how we can improve on it, thank you!
I didn't know I needed this big-sister-chat until I remained patient and watched the whole video. Thank you so much
Jenn, I really resonated with your answer to the first question.
Thanks Jenn! that last comment about comparing yourself with others, really help me a way out of my current state
This felt like a heart to heart talk with a friend!💖😊
oh man, you really are the internet’s big sister. literally these were all things i wished i could ask of an older friend and i feel like so many new perspectives opened up. thank you for making videos like these❣️😭
Why does every video you upload feel like it's tailored and made for me? 🥺 After watching I always feel a sense of, "Ahhh, thank you Jenn. I needed to hear that." 💕
I’m not sure I agree with “do you like the person you’re becoming” because I believe in taking responsibility for your own actions. No one can make you feel or do anything you don’t want to, so decide whether the person you’re with is someone you want to be with and then decide how you can grow to be a better partner for them if the relationship is worth it. If you aren’t ready to look within, then leave the relationship and another relationship will come along when you’re ready.
💕✨your advice/kind words/life wisdoms always calm me Jenn! love all of your videos and i am forever looking forward to the next one!! 🥰
Really needed this! Love that point at the end. Going to try and implement that for myself too. Thank you so much for sharing Jenn ❤
Of course! Ty for watching! x
Thank you for this video jenn!! 💕 hoping I am this wise when I’m your age. You’re a light and inspiration to so many, thank you for everything you do!
Thank you for sharing your wisdom Jenn, even if we know the answers it's so good to be supported in them by you! ❤❤❤
I
++++1 to the reading part.
Would love to continue watching content like this from you.😌
You’re so inspiring
This came at such a good time!!! Thank you so much Jenn for this and your videos❤️ I look up to you so much
Hi Jenn, thanks so much for this video, your content feeds my soul every time.
Aww this comment is so sweet. Thank you, Winnie! Yes, Ben and I will try and film a video like that. x
Agree with finding the ONE person in a new place and that branching out!
I hate it when people define their relationship with how long they've known a person. It doesn't mean anything when it's nonexistent today. What you mean to each other in the present.
UGH THE BEST FRIEND QUEST 😫 the bane of my existence
This was so on point with my insecurities and worries in life. The best advice. Thank you Jenn, you truly are the soul sister especially through these hard times!
I love the last part !Nobody has everything all and everyone is struggling or dealing with something.
Amazing advice on comparisons! thank you Jenn
So beautifully spoken 😣💕the marriage bit. Could feel your gratitude from the screen😣❤️
Love from Zambia 🇿🇲
Regarding the 1st question, based on personal experience, I think one should also consider whether ROCD (relationship ocd) plays a role in your possible doubts
Please make this a weekly/monthly thing if you can! It would be such an amazing addition to your channel! Love your insights!
Hi Jen, this video could not have come at a better time (*marriage and relationship). Thank you for being like the big sis I always wanted!
