Mary Linda Rapelye (who played the ambassador) sadly passed away in 2021. A stunningly attractive woman whose interactions with Walter Koenig in this episode were so well written and acted. At least her performance in this will live on. RIP

Amazingly powerful story. Also to have walter and mary linda rapelye in same episode. She was in tos 3rd season way to eden. The hippie episode, as pavels duty over love interest. So fitting the way she was worked in here. If this was tos episode, it would rank in top 5. Excellent work
Low budget or not, acting here and there or not, it was nice to see Walter Koenig finally get his chance to shine after all these decades. A real tour de force of acting, matched by Mary Linda Rapelye every step of the way. One this series's finest episodes.

By the end I was crying buckets. When it turned out to be a dream… I felt kind of betrayed and slapped upside the head. Now I'm not sure how I feel. I mean, I liked it. But, I kept looking for the cure… The magic potion or help from aliens that would save chekov and make him young again.
For those who don't remember her, the ambassador that accompanied Chekov was his old girlfriend in The Star Trek episode, The Way to Eden. Name is Mary Linda Rapelye but don't see it in the credits, must be a twin.
I’ve been loyal fan of Star Trek in in my youth from its beginning when I first saw this new Science Fiction phenomenon on a movie screen at an outdoor theatre at the Guantanamo Bay Naval Station to the latest Star Trek fan productions having only not seen the Pay for view series Discovery which I expect to eventually view in some form. Zachary and George may be gay, but I don't believe their characters are. In fact, George didn't want his chr.to be gay, but was ignored. My third show. I like the different Spock and the more active role of Checov. You gave him some brains and talents . Good to see Walter! Kirk needs to have the confident swagger and not be so teeth grinding serious all the time!

Al Dinelt... Something tells me you didn't recognize her from TOS. Her name is Mary Linda Rapelye. She played Chekov's longtime friend named "Irina" in the episode "The Way To Eden". She was part of a group of space hippies that came aboard the Enterprise, looking for a legendary planet called eden. She was sexy as hell in that episode and aged very well. It was cool to join them together again in this episode.
You don't remember her but she played in the original series, The Way to Eden. She was Chekov's old girlfriend with the hippies looking for the planet Eden. Note: May not be the original girlfriend but it sure looks like her., Mary Linda Rapelye
I've seen this episode a few times over the past decade or so. It IS one of my favorites of this series. But... ARe my ears detecting either a looped in voice or a deeper rendering of James Cawley's voice as Kirk? The other actors sound like they usually do. Oddly, while I had no problems with the older James Cawley voice as Kirk, this one is hitting me as a bit more serious and - considered. I like it.

I was surprised to hear the theme song from Star Trek, The Star Trek Enterprise Ship, The crew is all new in faces but the names of the crew are the same. Captain Kirk, Mr. Spock, Scottie, Mr.Chevok, Uhuar, Bones Dr. McCoy. It's good see how things haven't Star Trek is still a Classic.
Wonderful. Just wonderful. Thanks guys. Now more than ever with such sad Trek, we need this!
A very well done Tribute episode!
I just watched it again, and I might do so again soon. I'm just so happy you all did this. Thank you so much.
Started playing STFC in September 2020. A week ago i Discovered this absolutely wonderful series on youtube. Unbelievable links between the two.
Thanks very much to all who put their hearts in this series.
Star Trek Fleet Command is an enjoyable game.
Good episode , especially the Chekovs dialogue . The lady ambassador looks niiiiiiiice .
Thats "Irinia" from TOS "The way to Eden"
Stop thinking about sex for one minute ?? I had hoped for less misogyny.
@@jdd8826 We can love her looks without sexual thoughts. She's beautiful!
@@jdd8826You might want to lookup the definition of misogyny. " Don't think misogyny means what you think it means". Princess Bride.
@@jdd8826Lighten up.
Mary Linda Rapelye (who played the ambassador) sadly passed away in 2021.
A stunningly attractive woman whose interactions with Walter Koenig in this episode were so well written and acted. At least her performance in this will live on.
RIP
Oh No!! wasn't she in Way to Eden??
Mary Linda Rapelye is wearing salwar kameez (a north Indian outfit of long tunic with loose pants) in the scene she visits Chekov in his cabin.
"would you have done anything else?"
"if i knew the cost........i honestly dont know"
now thats the old star trek i know and love. asking the tough questions.
Would any of us, KNOWING the cost in advance.....have done things different?
Amazingly powerful story. Also to have walter and mary linda rapelye in same episode. She was in tos 3rd season way to eden. The hippie episode, as pavels duty over love interest. So fitting the way she was worked in here. If this was tos episode, it would rank in top 5. Excellent work
Low budget or not, acting here and there or not, it was nice to see Walter Koenig finally get his chance to shine after all these decades. A real tour de force of acting, matched by Mary Linda Rapelye every step of the way. One this series's finest episodes.
Really liking this it keeps me entertained and takes me back to the 60's!
This is the true dream of gene roddenberry. people coming from all over the world for one one common cause: star trek. we've dropped our common diffrences to work together for star trek. Thank you Mr Cralins.
Boy, I started watching this series and I have to say how much I am moved by their incredible effort...they brought back familiar faces in such a way it is incredible...Mr. Walter Koenig, you are and always will be Mr. Chekov, yes, sir...where can I send mi script???
Excellent series thanks to all involved. I was a fan of the original series when it first came out and have been a fan all my life. Great job by everyone
sad but wonderful episode, and glad to see the "Old" Checkov once again!
You nailed the casting for Chekov.
excellent recreation of the TOS Enterprise and excellent creation of new ships and effects. good stories so far.
It's a tribute to the exceptional quality of these episodes that I re-watch them. Terrific. ^_^
Thanks everyone for this most wonderful, heart-felt episode. I RoccoMend this channel.
Nice. This series needs to be on the CBS Network, on regular television, someday.
love the opening theme song. it's my favorite of the 4 iterations (with the 5 note crescendo at the end ), but was usually used at the end.
Complimenti una puntata veramente bella in tutto
Muito legal está versão fan club, obrigado!!!!
This was one moving episode, and I'm not easily moved by much, well anything, but this was close to a tear tearjerker. Really good!!
Thanking Spock for IDIC Vulcan philosophy and Leonard Nimoy’s admonition“Live long and Prosper”
actually, you can thank Gene Roddenberry for IDIC. He was going to sell IDIC medallions too.
this is great I didn't know there was more of star trek to enjoy
Another great episode. Thanks
Awesome. The plots on these episodes is better than those on the original.
McCoy, "Get me the script nurse, the answer MUST be in there!"
Scriptwriter: I'm a scriptwriter, not a doctor.

It is incredibly cool that Walter Koenig guest starred aging Chekov in this episode.
Been watching/downloading ST:NV (aka "Phase II") for a few years now, and visited the "studio" in Ticonderoga with my family last summer (near my hometown! props!). A few sound quality issues on the earlier episodes, but kudos for all the hard work, quality scripts and acting all around. Boldly go!
Love this…..love the story…..love the actors……I’m a loyal fan….I come back many times to watch this…….HIGH 5
Ohura, shortest miniskirt and communications at same time. Wow !. Thanks. Dave
I coulden't make it through the first episode, then I started episode 2. Halfway through I went into my kitchen, did the dishes and thought about it. I didn't like episode 1@2 of STTNG,but this one has guest stars from the origional. So I had another shot of that green stuff and gave thought I'd might as well enjoy the ride.
44:09 to 47:37 The final battle between the USS Enterprise Constitution class heavy cruiser and Kargh's Klingon Bird of Prey "Dark Destroyer" versus the Klingon/Federation hybrid/imposter D-7 battlecruiser "Danger Stalker" is awesome!
Ok guys, you got me on this one . Helluva episode with a nice twist.....
Then wait until you have seen episode 3...
I was totally thrilled to see Chekov
D.C. Fontana writes great Trek and these Actors bring out the best in a great story!
Really feels like the real 60s show! Awesome!
Bravissimi. Incredible job. You made this Star Trek fan very very happy
Yeah, what an episode....I totally feel the same.
I watched this for the first time 11-16-2020...fantastic story!
My first Star Trek viewing was " Cat's Paw", 1966...
"Must have been the vodka". All my Saturday mornings 30 years ago.
Nice to see the 1701 in it's correct shape.
Loving these shows. Thank you, lots of fun.
"Today is Monday" that line by Spock cracked me up! Ok. I have gotten over the "queer" looking Spock and just dove in to enjoying this fanfilm! Awesome job guys!!!
Zachary and George may be gay, but I don't believe their characters are. In fact, George didn't want his chr.to be gay, but was ignored. Gene Roddenberry wrote a guidebook describing his characters and stated that his chrs.desctiptions were not to be tampered with but since he died, what goes, goes I guess.
It is a brilliant episode, Walter Koenig (the original) is just brilliant, thanks for sharing!!!
My third show. I like the different Spock and the more active role of Checov. You gave him some brains and talents . Good to see Walter! Kirk needs to have the confident swagger and not be so teeth grinding serious all the time!
Except it isn't Walter Koenig
Damn good to see Walter back as Chekov!
Great Episode! Always enjoyed Walter Koenig in Star Trek. Since D.C. Fontana wrote a Episode, I wish Walter Koenig would have written an Episode. He wrote one for the Animated Star Trek. Anyway, what a wonderful story. 👏👍👍
Damned! This was a really good story. Loved the banter between the two Chekov's. And yes, the Ambassador was hot.
Yeah she was hot, Chekov's grandfather had a good taste in women.
Wishspell.. I think I already said that, and yes it is the same girl.
doubt it most of the cast from the original are dead
Without questionable doubt this is my Favorite New Voyages/Phase 2 episode to date.
I like it.
