    I know this is a different sport, but in soccer if you slide into someone cleats up, you’re out of the game. A studs up slide is almost always intentional. Should be an automatic ejection because that can seriously injure someone.
    Edit: who tf turned this into a discussion of soccer vs baseball. All I’m saying is that sliding with cleats up is dangerous and shouldn’t be allowed. Some of you have some serious problems.

The Warriors aren't quite their yet, but if they keep their core around for the next several years they could get their. The hate is already their, they just to build on it by winning more championships.

    I am the second basemen of my high school baseball team, and seeing the slide by the runner into second gave me chills. It is already dangerous enough getting taken out by a runner, but when the runner comes in with his spike up and gets the fielder right in the ankle? It is unacceptable. A move like that could be an end to a career. He wasn't even trying to break up a double play, very disappointed to see that in what is supposed to be a "gentlemen's game".

    • @cj-nyc2057
      @cj-nyc2057 6 років тому +6

      Frankie 14 it’s not to “spike “ the 2nd basemen , it’s to break up the play. This is called playing hard. It’s how the game has been taught for 100 years. If he didn’t slide like that he would receive and deserve to receive criticism from his teammates for not “playing hard”

      Kegg Plant he broke 2 rules with the slide so there is something wrong with it. The ball slipped out of Kelly's hand and hit Austin so what was the big deal?

      Glock2201 play yea he did spike him so yea that sucks but they still overreacted like I’m not a fan of either teams I’m a fan of the angels but there really shouldn’t have been a fight

      JoeF how am I wrong? He slid past the base and he changed his path to make contact. Those are 2 parts of the rule that he broke.

    Austin was trying to break Brock's leg or ankle. The catcher was a little slow in stopping Austin from getting all the way to the mound. I liked the way all the Yankees tried to explain away the illegal slide. In that situation, you are supposed to slide on the outfield side of the bag. That's the rule.

      It's a clean play & middle infielders get so mad whenever they turn a double play & get spiked, but it's totally legal to spike a person under their knee in the MLB rule book the game is soft.
