    hi! my HR is telling me that i only qualify for disability benefits if my doctor deems me as unable to work due to illness or injury? For example, if i have a smooth labor with no complications, i don't qualify for PDL. Is that accurate? My work provides nothing on top of what the state offers, so trying to maximize. I assumed i'd have 6-weeks of PDL + 8-weeks PFL in the least for a smooth labor. Is it common for OB's to say you qualify for disability leave even if you have no birth complications? Help!!! Due 7/15. Thank you!

    The physicians statement, can that be from my obgyn or does that have to be from a primary care doctor?

    What if I only have one quarter of payroll from the 18 months? Will this still be my highest quarter to calculate by edd?

    How do you apply one week early when you’re still working prior to the 4 weeks before due date

      You can only do this if you actually stop working if you plan to keep working you can start your claim. Congrats!

    I’m 34 weeks and going on disability leave at 36weeks. I should apply for disability at 35 weeks? I thought you couldn’t apply until you’ve stopped working?

    Can you explain PDL and PFL vs short term disability leave? One that I would pay into through open enrollment.

    • @CaelaCook
      @CaelaCook  3 місяці тому +1

      PDL refers to unpaid job protection, SDI is payment while you are not working for pregnancy related disability. PFL is paid family leave after birth.

    I wanted to stop working when I was 7 months pregnant, would I still be eligible to apply for PDL still?
