Haven't listened to this in forever. Really is a great album. They had a couple good albums post Lion Sleeps Tonight but this one is by far the best. It's a Happening World is another one I really like. Grandfather from that is one of my favorites. Glad to see this album is on youtube though.
I like Animal. Cool
In my top 3 albums ev
What would your other three be?
This sounds like Brian Wilson supplanting New York attitude in place of Pet Sounds lovely post adolescent angst. Add humor, lust, and light social commentary. Did this not come out when originally recorded? Nilsson feel/ vibe on some tracks. Will certainly go through a thing with this record. Thanks for posting!
Reportedly, this was a "contractual obligation album" for The Tokens with their label's distributor (they had already signed with Warner Bros.). A minimal amount of copies were pressed by the BT Puppy label.
The Tokens then offered the record to Warner Bros., who told them "get out of here, take that piece of ^*^* with you, and find another label to sign with."
Very good
Another hidden gem! And I mean hidden!!!
Bob G I found this album (original cover) used in a cd shop in south padre when I was like 15. Best find EVER.
Sporm Last Name I am supremely jealous of that memory.
Sporm Last Name I once found The Smokes self titled but finding this would be a trip.
I read they reissued this in the 90s. Sounds like a modern record! Nice! Was Brute Force (Stephen Friedland) a Token at this time?
This is the lamest album I've ever heard. I think it must of been a joke, because it is hard to believe they even recorded this crap.
At least it isn't Disney Disco
Two words: "Contractual Obligation".
