- Today i went to the West Carclaze Garden Village building site. I went there as all of the houses being built there all have to have Solar panels and special heating. The idea is that the Garden Village is as Carbon neutral as possible.
The employees did not want me to put the drone over the site and even moved me from the site entrance. After moving 50 metres down the road a worker approached me and grabbed my drone control. Luckily I had anticipated this reaction and kept a good hold of it. I didnt get all of the pics that i wanted due to low drone batteries but decided against returning to the site after my drone had charged.
I don't blame construction workers for not wanting to be filmed. They are 10% on the job and 90% sitting on their ass, drinking tea and watching telly. :)
But wait a minute.... that builder seems to have mastered the art of..... being completely powerless!

Agree with Cornwall. Their attitude tells me they ARE cutting corners and maybe safety violations and fear filming. As for the project, plans and documents can be reviewed at local Council planning. Great video 👍
I didn't really finish all the drone footage that I wanted because the batteries died. I don't fancy going back up there again though.

It was all quite comical, but boy, did it wind me at the time. I try to be respectful, but I'll only take so much before I tell them to go back to work.

Not only is it assault he could also be charged with Interfering With Distracting a Pilot Wilst in Control of a Drone, which is actually illegal.
The drone wasn't in the air, I had it in my hand when he grabbed the controller. Luckily for him!
a pilot who cannot even see the drone who is not even looking in its direction at times... Give me a break.. Guy does not know how to fly safely at all, the muppet even thinks drone assist is enough proof it is safe to fly.

If (say) a drone is assessed by an employer as to potential risk of causing a distraction to their staff (that may lead to injury) then the employer should instruct their staff to stop working while that risk is present.
An employer can only request the drone operator cease operations (enforcement is a CAA matter).

Exactly you should agree his illegal drone flights should be be investigated..... Flying non visual line of sight, is a clear breach of the rules.
@@kensukadventures628 indeed, drone pilots should be able to visually see the drone at all times. I'm not sure exactly if that were the case here. It seems that there was no obstruction in viewing the drone.

Great video. How long does your battery last on the drone ?
On a good day with little wind, I get about 25 minutes before the low battery warning. On a windier day, it can be as little as 10 minutes. It's also depends tremendously on the height you're flying at ( the higher the drone, the stronger the wind).
Not long but I’m sure you have many spares. Great videos and it’s great to see what you cannot see from driving passed.

12:42 seems to me he’s the telehandler driver to me and where is his hard hat as it’s a live site. Absolute cods wallop. You can see the height of the scaffold that’s how far you’ll boom gear up for trades.
I did try to find a compromise and say I'd say 30 metres above the crane, but they still weren't happy with it.
@@CornwallAudits telehandler is the yellow jcb that you called a front loader bud. Also was a merlo the green one parked at a plot. I used to operate them 12 years ago. You can go by cranes I would say,just stay behind the cab where the driver is then your out of there eyeline. When they slew any direction synchronise there movement so you can watch the lift. Be good content.
He made it sound like he was the crane driver, which was why I drew their attention to that. I certainly wasn't going to fly low enough to interfer with the front loader ( telehandler). It'd almost be below roof height. Which I try to avoid if I can. I wouldn't have trusted them not to throw something to try and take the drone down.
He was sent to stall you whilst the word went round.
What you can do is issue anyone harassing you with a harassment warning.
State clearly and record it " I am serving you verbally with a harassment warning" " you must cease and desist with your course of action which is causing me alarm and distress.
2nd time when they ignore, "This is your second warning to desist from harassment"
If they continue you can summons a constable and have them arrested, as long as you can show proof.If a person uses violence or threat of violence to take or attempt to take your property that is Robbery , not assault.
There is no attempted robbery, its robbery successful or not.
I don't know if it's just me but I think you would be more use to society if you got a proper job instead of just trying to annoy people. Waste of space and no I don't work for them 👍

Unfortunately my drone batteries died before I could finish properly. I didn't fancy going up there for a second visit after the hostile reception that I got the first time. So I didn't get to jave a really good look around!
They are just workie blokes. They have a level of intelligence based around football and going to the pub with their mates. You can't expect them to bother with laws.
I did try to have a conversation with them, but it was like talking to the walls that they build😀

I didn't see any signs at all as to who was running the site. There were a couple of guys with no hard hats or high visibility on as well. It's a shame that my batteries ran out in the drone or I'd have inspected the site properly. I didn't fancy going up there again.

I'm still not sure whether or not I should report them to the head office. I was waiting to see what comments were made.

you cant be accosting the public and enforcing your feelings on them ,as that encourages the public to follow the same example .
It's a fair point. I've email PJ Audits who sometimes does reaction videos and asked for his opinion so I'm hoping that he'll be really nice and get back to me. Even if it's only an email with some help or advice.

I have to disagree with you, I'm afraid. A drone at 70 metres up is smaller than a seagull. Should the CAA stop helicopters or planes flying over building sites so snowflakes don't get upset??

Morally, I wouldn't fly over a residential area, but a building site is a totally different thing. It's apples and Oranges, but if you get your kicks out of filming people's homes then crack on😂
That guy said "give us the respect that I need". Is he having a f*cking laugh? How self entitled is he? What rock has he been living underneath to not know that respect ISN'T JUST GIVEN FOR FREE. You have to EARN RESPECT. And you won't earn respect unless you treat people with respect. A bloody child knows that but obviously this guy has given away his brain in exchange of a hi-viz vest.
I try with everyone. I give respect when shown respect ( and when not most of the time), but that interaction deteriorated really quickly. There's only so much that you can say before telling them to go back to work and leave you alone.
