Yes I agree. Why does someone want to keep an engagement rignt from a creep? But this seems to happen over and over. So tired of these type of case, but I think they aired because the defendant is so exceptionally cute.
If I was Tammy I wouldn't want to keep the ring; it would be a reminder of what she had escaped from. Move on Tammy and just be grateful you didn't marry him.
She probably wanted to hurt him like he hurt her, but t hat never works the way you want it to. The best course is to give them back what's theirs so they can't come after you and then run like hell
Tammy, give this disgusting man his ring back. Why will you even want to keep a ring from this fellow that thinks it's okay to go around cheating and kissing "friends" on the mouth (e.t.c). When an engagement is broken, the engagement ring should be returned.
*I don't know who needs to hear this, what you've passed or passing through can't be compared with the joy that awaits you, soon your story must change forever.Amen💕💕💕*
It's sad she would not give the ring back since if this was me I would have literally released all he gave me and moved on with my life. This chick is a victim of her own choices now
So, I am Melissa (witness) Here is the full back story. Tammy was my bff. She had moved from sacramento where we'd lived to LA. He was always a douche. The hair situation was that he was exceedingly vain and was totally bald. He had a hair club for men installation. But, was too cheap to get it properly maintained. He use to put Elmer's wood glue to his scalp. Anyway, I had gone to visit them for the weekend and to celebrate the engagement. We went to the club. I found him outside in a car and he was getting a bj. Obviously they didn't allow me to say that. So, tried my best to get that across. He had foundation all over the crotch of his white pants. He was confronted and Tammy and I left. We packed her stuff and drove 8 hours during the night to get her out of there because she was devastated. She didn't steal anything. She had the ring and honestly kind of felt like it was compensation for everything he did. He filed a small claims suit in LA County court. This was before Judge judy show existed. However, they trolled the active lawsuits in LA for cases that sounded interesting. We were asked to come on and they paid us and all our expenses. The plan with producers was that Tammy was going to claim she threw the ring in the lake and the show would pay out the 5k to Don. It seemed win win. Tammy panicked after we were sworn in. As much as she seems like a typical blonde airhead, she was actually very honest and religious. She wouldn't lie. So, she did have to give back the ring. Fast forward about a year later they briefly got back together. Of course it didn't last. Tammy loved to Vegas, change her name and became a very successful dancer, I moved to London and Don is still out there trying to be a Rockstar 😂😂😂 Funny side note about. Tammy and I were best friends for 20 years. Sadly we fell out in 2016 over politics. She unfriended me because I didn't support Trump. Which makes it all so hilarious. Clearly Tammy has a thing for orange men called Don with weird hair. Thank you for this hilarious walk down memory lane. To have my most embarrassing moments resurrected on UA-cam has been a blast.
The fact that she wanted to keep the ring after what he did says a lot about her as well. She should have just thrown the ring at his face and moved on.
I wouldn’t want the bad ju ju associated with the ring. I’d give it back in front of a notary with a signed and notarized receipt. That way the other person couldn’t say it wasn’t returned

These early JJ episodes are so lossey goosey, litigants talking to each other, talking out of turn, saying uh huh, defendants witness chiming in on her own, and not a peep out of JJ.
I definitely agree that he breached the contract. Maybe these engagements need a contract. Or maybe women should marry and get an annulment right after. A man should not be able to bring you across the country on false pretenses without compensating for expenses and damages. It’s time for new laws and written contracts.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a video where every word that came out of someone’s mouth just made their situation worse and worse like I watched the Plaintiff do here. Damn
These old episodes are classic. How I remember JJ on TV before Bold and the Beautiful on channel 10 in the early 90’s. Mum and I as a small child used to watch JJ and I just knew that adults argued about stupid things. And they still do.

Standard judgment. She's not marrying him, so why the hell is she hanging on to it? It goes back to him, and she can find someone worth her time. I wonder how they turned out. I tried to find this rock musician but its only coming up with a folk singer from Tennessee, and that's tno the same person. So maybe he wasn't super-famous, but he looks familiar.
Great wisdom from JJ. He may have won the battle but you lady tammy have won the war. Its embarassing that JJ declared the ring cheap because of the actuations of plaintiff.
He really said he kissed the lady (his ex) outside the club because he was gonna be doing her wedding. What? Is this supposed to be like sealing the deal with a kiss? If a guy asked you to do his wedding, you gonna seal the deal with him too? Lame excuse.
I wouldn’t want that ring. I wouldn’t want anything from him. I would’ve left the ring on the counter when I left. It would have been part of the gift of goodbye
