SPOKE TOO SOON, BAR WENT LIVE SHORTLY AFTER UOLOAD. Shipping was $25 for me! One thing I forgot to mention is I think this bar will be a bastard to rack. If you look at the clips of it it's in a mono with the arms in, so that the bar is sitting where the bend isn't that significant. However in the product pics, they're on normal cups and on the bend. Since this is wider than the Kabuki I imagine this will be even more of a pain to deal with unless you use some type of blocks.
Can confirm on Kabuki's lack of accountability on delivery dates. I ordered a Transformer Bar from them last September and they recently told me it'll be another 2-3 months because I'm 68th in the queue for their chrome coating process. Super frustrating to pay such a high premium for a bar and feel like you're dealing with Titan Fitness the whole time.
I just don't get people's love for them. It feels like amateur hour with them. Nice products but you can get products that are just as nice for less and not have to wait 6 months.
@@bmstylee well, I disagree on the “nicer products for less elsewhere” claim as far as the transformer bar goes. Not really anything else like it right now. But yes their shipping costs and delivery dates are straight up bush league and reflect very poorly on a company trying to sell themselves as a premium supplier. I will say- I think someone at the company read my comment as 20 minutes later I got an email saying my bar was preparing to ship out 😂
You seem to be the only one talking about this bar online, I can’t find any info elsewhere, and was in the market for a buffalo bar. When I saw you posted this video I don’t think I’ve ever pulled the trigger faster for a product, even though I’m in Canada and had to go through the Rogue website US and pay crazy shipping fees to get it here. Shipping to Canada was approx 212.00, and taxes were approx 92, bringing the total to 804, and with conversion that’s about 1056.00 CDN, which is a bit less than the kabuki Duffalo. Thanks again man, Im so excited to get this thing🎉
The owner (Bill) teased it on his IG but from when it was officially listed on the site to when it was available was around 48 hours, sold out in a few hours as well!

Great video and yes I appreciate your insight on these type of equipment videos. Also I have to admit that I received the notification, but I don't understand everyone's fascination with coated sleeves that get all scratched up. I would prefer this to have chromed sleeves instead and we would have a real winner!
I just saw the bar yesterday on their site and got really excited, then I saw it was only cerakote. Do you think they’ll do a stainless, raw, or zinc in the future?
Love this style of video and getting your thoughts on a new product or why you would or would not like to purchase. I am waiting on a blemished notification on a black oxide Duffalo, but this one really intrigues me, I may have to go Brandon style and get both! I am giving you credit for asking Bill H to sell this bar 👍
Low budget guy here my friend had bent his bar dropping it in the power rack and gave it to me I use that bar for squatting it's bent about 1" pretty evenly. So mine was free and takes some pressure off my shoulders.
Great comparison on the two. Looking forward to another video when you actually get and use it for an in depth comparison. Don't think I'll be getting a Buffalo style bar since the only specialty bar I want to get right now is a transformer bar. Maybe Rogue will do something similar since you mentioned them hopefully doing something with their SSB.
I was in the same boat for a while, but after having some elbow issues on bench I ended up getting a Duffalo (I live in the area and it was a blemish, so much less cost and hassle than usual) and it’s quickly becoming one of my favorites. Absolute dream for bench press and low bar squats/good mornings, plus a nice subtle variation for OHP. Pleasantly surprised at how much use I’m getting out of it.
Kabuki can be faster too. My Kadillac bar shipped the day after I ordered it even though the site said 4 weeks. Also, my Trap Bar HD beat the time on Kabuki's site. My Transformer Bar did not. I want a Duffalo/Buffalo bar and am happy to see Rogue with one. That may be the one I get as they are closer to me geographically and the price is substantially less.
Because of shoulder issues I completely switched to a Transformer bar for squats about a year ago (got it quick ordering from their cosmetic blemish). Regardless of need, I think that bar was a great investment because it’s so versatile. My shoulders are feeling much better and I’ve been thinking about a Duffalo bar recently, but the price and availability have kept me from pulling the trigger …along with the fact that I’ve never used a Buffalo bar and have no idea if I’d like/use it that much. I’m tempted, but I think I’ll wait for a few reviews. Looking forward to your thoughts once you get it. Cheers.

Will you need to modify J-cups/Roller-cups to accommodate either bar. Does one have an advantage over the other in that regard ? Thanks for all your help and research Brandon.
Great vid my brother! Definitely eyeballing this one (not that I need it), as I've wanted a larger diameter bar. At 38mm, this hits that mark. I agree on a lot of your points in terms of the Cerakote finish looking rough and hope that it's cleaner on production versions. I don't mind Cerakote, but it would have been nice to have a stainless version (I'd like some variety and all of my bars are coated). I also think the price is reasonable, even though on the high side. It's not that much more than an aggro bar and it's way beefier, not to mention a specialty bar. Definitely significant savings over the Kabuki version!
I'm not going to lie and say I was a close follower of Terry Todd but I had never heard him referred to as "Double T" until the Arnold. Good call by Rogue on tossing the moniker upon full release.
Love all your videos and I have gotten alot of your advice/equipment too as I am setting up my home gym. Thank you for all this advice. I have an off the wall question. I have just a bit of space left to fill and I am trying to decide between a Powertec leg press/hack squat machine (which is the shortest at 79 inches and will fit) or a leg curl/extension machine. So hearing you say the legcurl/extension machine is really just accessory exercises for legs, how do you feel about and why have you not gotten a leg press/hack or one of the other, as you seem to have space. My question is *why did you not get a leg press or hack squat machine for yourself. Do you consider them accessory and not worth the money or space, or just that squating and dead lifting suffices?. I have a Rogue Rm4 and ForceUSA G12 smith machine which has a leg press attachment but its awkward.
So take this with a grain of salt b/c it's based off my own preferences. But I would never (well 99%) never get a leg press or hack squat. Not only do I feel like I can do the same if not better work with a barbell, but they're expensive, take up a lot of space, and you need a shit ton of weights to use them (and load them). While the ext/curl gets used maybe 2x a week for me, It's a movement that's hard for me to adequately replicate without the machine.
I'm happy to see this SICK NASTY bar in your space alongside your Duffalo bar! I trust your comparison. (I am one that bought a Duffalo due to a shoulder "issue")
Just got notified that you can buy it. The only downside to me is the cerakote but looking forward to your review and comparison. Something to note is that the duffalo bar is also used for benching and I wonder how that feels with this thicker bar.

On occasion, def get a deeper stretch. Kind of same thought as a cambered swiss bar, but with a buffalo you have your hands in the same orientation as a regular bench press.
Nice preview. Well Brandon… since you asked… it would be nice to have you review the Eleiko Performance Power Bar. I’ve seen a few reviews of the Eleiko Competition Bar, but not the Performance bar. I know you don’t like coatings and this one has a chrome plated finish, so I’m curious.
@@BasementBrandon I know right!? But I bet you could sell that thing pretty easily for near retail when you’re done. OR… maybe you’ll love it and keep it. Come on Brandon… swallow that pill.
Obviously I haven’t tried it yet but with the deeper camber I bet this is only going to be usable as a squat bar, Duffalo bar seems like it would have a bit more versatility but looking forward to the head to head comparison
Brandon have you heard much about Rogue's equipment arriving damaged? like the power racks and squat racks. The stuff I'm getting from them, even the replacements are arriving in terrible condition to be brand new.
60” between collars? Oi, that’ll sit quite awkwardly on my S1. Looking forward to your review but doubt I’ll get it unless I get a new rack. Have been very intrigued with it since seeing it at the Arnold, definitely would like to lift in it at some point regardless
Yeah that's my only concern for most people. I have duffalo blocks that work great, but they're made for a 32mm bar so might have to look into getting an adapter.
My shoulders are trashed and can even use that kabuki bar anymore . Will look into this as it has a lower drop . If all else fails there is the Marrs bar
I've had my eye on this bar since it went live on their website, but I'd like to wait and see if they offer it in a different finish. I have an Ohio PB in the black, and it's great, but I have a bare steel Rogue DL bar, and it feels so much better in my hands. Btw, what's wrong with their safety squat bar? Lol
I don't think they do, but I will say they're all so outdated now that they seem like they do. Liking that they're putting more effort into these specialty offerings.
Hey B, I think the CB4 stands for “curve/bend 4.4” drop. You probably know that by now but figured I’d mention due to it being an aha moment when looking through the specs of the bar. So you gonna keep the duffalo with this one coming in?
Never thought about that actually but not sure that's the case here based off their other naming conventions. I think it may have to do with the iteration of the bar. For example the CB-1 is their original camber bar. They also have MG-1 through MG-4 (with 4 being the newest ones they released last week).
Have the Yukon Bar from Titan Fitness and it’s very high quality I actually prefer it over all my Rogue bars… and also it doesn’t tip over at all like what Coop says not sure how he got it to do that cause I’ve genuinely tried and can’t get it to do that. Tbh I use it more for bench press the camber on it helps my bench go up drastically when I go back to a straight bar.
@@BasementBrandon Who know’s maybe I got one of a kind from Titan but all the people I lift with say the same thing. This Rogue one looks nice to though. Not $500+ nice though.
@@reconstructionwouldhavesav9472 I don’t believe that I’ve literally tried to make it flip and it won’t. I’ve used it on Rogue and Titan 3x3 Racks. Must be user error.

I don't get that. But my Ohio Deadlift Bar has Cerakote on the sleeves and they are holding up ok. For a specialty bar it's not as big of a deal compared to something that is a high use bar where it will definitely get scarred up.
@@bmstylee That's awesome to hear, though. Perhaps you use your specialty bars on even fewer occasions than other people, or maybe you just treat your gear better than others do. I bet some people treat their home gyms like they used to treat the stuff at their commercial gyms
@@turkishdelight6032 a bit of both. It doesn't get used as much as my Ohio Power Bar which has a cool used look and I take care of my gear. I have a lot invested so I am not going to abuse it.
Hard to justify the purchase when I already have a duffalo bar that I don't use all the time. It looks like it will be an amazing bar but they are years behind the game.
Specialty bars aren't their game. And I don't necessarily disagree with their lack of focus on them. It's a very small market. They'll sell many more Ohio Power Bars over this.
I think it may be different enough to make people buy this over the Kabuki, or just give people a similar option at a better price point. But agree, if you already have one, def not worth having 2.

I suspect it would be easier to rack. The camber being wider means it won't constantly flip over like the Kabuki. I could be missing something though.
Nice and will wait to hear your thoughts before I get on the waiting list for future batches! 😂
Personally, I have a hard time racking a buffalo bar with rolling J cups. As soon as a plate goes on one side it slides over.
swap the j-cups to the opposite side of the rack, then they can swing in to match the contour of the bar. I have a *** bar and that works well for me.

Obviously I haven’t tried it yet but with the deeper camber I bet this is only going to be usable as a squat bar, Duffalo bar seems like it would have a bit more versatility but looking forward to the head to head comparison
should be able to bench with it as well! Duffalo is great for that.
Curious how that 38mm will impact its use benching.
I see a lot of people prefer thicker bars for benching actually.
@@BasementBrandon Definitely in this camp.
Brandon have you heard much about Rogue's equipment arriving damaged? like the power racks and squat racks. The stuff I'm getting from them, even the replacements are arriving in terrible condition to be brand new.
I have seen an increase in issues through shipping since 2020
@@BasementBrandon Yeah I figured it couldn't just be me. The stuff i'm getting is really arriving in sub par condition.
Do you prefer squatting with a buffalo style bar over a straight bar, or do you you just like having the buffalo bar as an option?
I like it for variations or to just mix things up when I'm far out from a competition.
Hey Brandon did you end up getting this? I commented on your newest video regarding product reviews. Could you do a review on this please?
I think I mention in my MG-4 video that they're behind on this, they said another 1-2 weeks.
Is it just less stress on the shoulders with buffalo bars like this or less stress on the wrist as well?
Can be both
@@BasementBrandon Nice! Awaiting you and Coops review of these to see what you guys think v the kubuki offering since they are never in stock!
Are these type of bars are more beneficial for low bar squatters?
Not necessarily.
No one: me only being 17 and wasting my money and buying 3 of them 😭😎
Lol
Bar looks a lot tougher than me. Don't think I'm man enough for this GIRTH
Don't sell yourself short!
What are your thoughts on the E-coat?
I dig it for plates, but haven't used it much on bars.
My shoulders are trashed and can even use that kabuki bar anymore . Will look into this as it has a lower drop . If all else fails there is the Marrs bar
Could prob also get an affordable SSB!
Maybe time to invest in belt squat
I've had my eye on this bar since it went live on their website, but I'd like to wait and see if they offer it in a different finish. I have an Ohio PB in the black, and it's great, but I have a bare steel Rogue DL bar, and it feels so much better in my hands.
Btw, what's wrong with their safety squat bar? Lol
From the design of the pads, to the price, to the finish with powder coat it's just way behind the competition
this bar looks awesome
Going to add it?!
If I bought that bar my wife would murder me in my sleep. I will just admire yours!😂 great video Brandon.
I'd rather wait for some feedback on the bar. Rogue tends to miss the mark on specialty bars.
I don't think they do, but I will say they're all so outdated now that they seem like they do. Liking that they're putting more effort into these specialty offerings.
I ordered mine today! Can't wait to try it out.
Now we wait the 14-30 days!
I love my Duffalo but I’ll watch everyone’s reviews on the big mother and go from there
I imagine if you have a Duffalo this would likely be a pass, but if no current buffalo it may be a similar bar at a better price point.
Sweet!
Picking one up??
@@BasementBrandon Maybe for the commercial gym when it opens. But it's too pricey for my home gym. I'm cheap!
Hey B, I think the CB4 stands for “curve/bend 4.4” drop. You probably know that by now but figured I’d mention due to it being an aha moment when looking through the specs of the bar.
So you gonna keep the duffalo with this one coming in?
Just look at how many bars he has now and you will find the answer is a probable yes.
You're the first person I've heard say that about that bar!
@@BasementBrandon Who know’s maybe I got one of a kind from Titan but all the people I lift with say the same thing. This Rogue one looks nice to though. Not $500+ nice though.
You are dead wrong on that. My Titan Yukon bar flipped over and knocked a hole in my garage wall. It is a horribly unstable bar
@@reconstructionwouldhavesav9472 I don’t believe that I’ve literally tried to make it flip and it won’t. I’ve used it on Rogue and Titan 3x3 Racks. Must be user error.
@@bawlsmcthaniel5549
User error? Please. I've been lifting for over 2 and a 1/2 decades. And I've owned over 100 different barbells. None of them ever flipped during deloading. The Yukon bar Is a cheap low end bar with a defect. Deal with it.
Nice bar at a nice price. I would be interested if they offer bare steel.
Another coating would be nice. Black zinc would be a possibility.
Yeah sad they haven't but imagine they might? Their squat bar is only SS so who knows.
What's the benefits of this bar?
Most would say to ease stress on shoulders, but the camber can also come into play for increase ROM on bench.
Whoa nellie! That's a thick shaft right there.
BBC. Big Black Cerakote
Dr Todd has done more for strongman and other little known sports than anyone will ever know.
Great champion of strength!
Its surprising the bar is only 60 lbs. Being 38mm I would have expected it to be 70-75
I don’t think that adds much tbh!
100% Brandon buys the Rogue multigrip bar within a year.
I actually went to buy it after the video but sold out 😂
Why are they still cerakote coating the sleeves...
This is apparently a newer version on the sleeves, we will see how it holds up.
@@BasementBrandon Can’t wait for your first impressions/review.Thanks for being the people’s lab rat lol
@@turkishdelight6032 a bit of both. It doesn't get used as much as my Ohio Power Bar which has a cool used look and I take care of my gear. I have a lot invested so I am not going to abuse it.
I'm highly tempted to pick one up even though I've already got a Duffalo. Looking forward to the comparison!
DO IT
Hard to justify the purchase when I already have a duffalo bar that I don't use all the time.
I need that 🏋♂️
Get one!
Transformer bar review. You know you want to.
Hah yes, I just haven't been using it as much since I'm so close to my meet. Might have to wait until after.
Thanks for putting this on my radar. I think the more comfy I can make squatting the more often I will do it 💪🏾
How would benching feel with this? 🤔
Gives you a deeper stretch!
Just placed order! 💪🏾 I was debating too long last time & they sold out... should arrive June 1st. Looking forward to your review.
Does this help with front squats (reduce wrist discomfort) or nah?
@@JayMulah73 I haven't seen many if anyone do front squat with a cambered bar like this. Might be able to try.
Your face is why I come here
oh baby
The new Rogue racks are 4x3 not 4x4"
Right on
Ultrawide gang ?
Recent convert. Thought it would be easier to have both pages up at the same time.
It's a Duffalo bar, but with a B, because it's better. lol
Started at buffalo, went to duffalo, now back to the beginning!
@@BasementBrandon color it with green powdercoat and call it the Ruffalo bar!
