No thinker of thoughts? Then who is having the thoughts? No sound but only sound itself? Then who is listening? Self is only an idea? Then who has determined that? Because we cannot see the seer but only what is seen, we say there is no seer. Because we only know the past by memories we say the past doesn't exist. The past to be a memory must have been a present moment, if there is only the eternal moment then the present moment always has its future. We only believe what exists is what we are actually experiencing even though a universe is endless with what we arent expriencing, so therefore, the universe must not exist?

We are not allowed to bring up hijackers in this Zen Safe Space
Which makes it more insidious when most of his platitudes are accurate and genuinely helpful...
The beginning of responsibility is also discernment...
      Keep it up

All of your questions are answered in one word: consciousness (awareness itself). Once you realize that you are not just what you perceive yourself to be-an individual experiencing the world-but rather the experience and all its contents, including thoughts, sounds, and the universe, you recognize that the mind and body are merely tools through which you can access the past via memories and the future through concepts and ideas. Your concern shouldn't focus on what's real, because the only thing that can answer that is your thoughts, which you perceive as yourself. You can attempt to answer that question without using your thoughts, but that will only bring you to the present moment, which is why it's the only thing that's real.

Cool Chanel, would be great to be translated in Ukrainian language. Many people would appreciate to have the opportunity to understand this information, they don’t understand English

I just got here the other day by the thought of "why would the real reality be working for the man made concept?" 😅

Exactly how does a man made concept have any effect on reality whatsoever? It's such a ridiculous idea once you see it. 😉

I've listened to Alan many times and gained from his work. The only thing that I learned from this video this time, in my humble opinion the meaning to me is profound B***s**t. If anyone reads this and feels annoyance please don't respond to me. Just express your opinion in the comments. We are all allowed an opinion.

Then you are still living in delusions. Perhaps your feeling is not so much humility, but fear. Looking deeply within requires that we accept the dark aspects of our selves. See the work by Carl Jung and the integration of the shadow self.

@@jujumulligan43 I think your unstudied illusion about Carl Jung is hilarious. He was supposedly a Christian yet he had many extramarital affairs which caused his wife much emotional distress. So much for him integrating his shadow self. Many of his affairs were his patients. Not very professional by today's standards. When you learn to integrate your shadow self you become whole and that shadow self becomes a 'tame dragon on which you ride'. Humility doesn't come into the equation. You are simply whole, without illusion and look at the world from reality.
