Quite the climate change from -27! Despite the rain, it seemed like you were off to a great start. Beautiful waterfall along the way too. Plenty of time to rest in the tent with that rain. Good thing was not raining cats and dogs I don't think the Lanshan would have held up! LOL. Hope you have a dryer days the rest of your trip. Have a great day.
Haha yea...major change. It was a great start even with the rain.. i can confirm that the lanshan did held up...cuz day 5 was terrible. I will spray nikwax on it before next trip...to help. Thanks for watching and hope you'll enjoy the rest of my adventure on the fht. Take care

Hey I see you made it!! We talked to you on the trail we were going south bound as you were going NB it was myself, husband, daughter and grand daughter. My daughter had the same backpack as you only folded on the top instead of the sides like you had yours. We thought about you on Tuesday when it rained ALL DAY LONG! We were supposed to finish on Wednesday with a short 3.5 mile hike but we ended up hiking Tuesdays hike and Wednesdays hike on Tuesday to go ahead and finish since we were soaked… so we ended up staying at Table Rock Inn. It was nice to get showered and change into dry clothes… other than that though it was a great 4 day hike! I look forward to seeing the rest of your videos of the foot hills trail! I posted our trip on my UA-cam channel

Too bad about the downpour! You’ve gotten a great start, hopefully the weather clears up. I was wondering if they have any shelters along the way? I got a Lanshan 2 Pro also!! Do you use a footprint? I couldn’t see where to buy one- I’ve always had them for my REI tents- I haven’t been out yet with it. How do you like the umbrella? it was great 4 out of 6 days.. Worst day was on the fifth... I used a polycro sheet for this trip but I will go back to my original Lanshan 2 pro footprint. You can buy them on AliExpress etc (light and fit like a charm). I love the umbrella... To stop for pics, look at GPS or when it was raining sooooo bad. Let me know if you don't find the footprint (I'll find you the link). Take care

@@JenniferLupine I'm not a pro on sc weather. I found that it was great. Warm during the day and just perfect during the night. The foothills has a jungle climat type which receive tons of rain so it's normal but.... not that much mud... mostly orange type ground.. don't know the name or term for it.
