He was suspicious the entire time, she handled it correctly. I'm sure that's the last thing they wanna do, but you have a fellow officer on top of a male with a gun in his waistband. What was she to do, wait for him to gain access to it, and risk them both getting shot. They told him to stop, it's simple, follow directions!

I think when the OIT discharged her Glock, she shouldn't have just left it on the ground as the suspect could have grabbed it. Also her shot was a little delayed on the suspect, considering he did discharge his weapon wounding an officer. However, it did seem that the FTO was able to stay in the fight and get the suspect restrained.
You hear her ask if the shot was from her FTO, and as soon as she said no, that's when the rookie shot. She did pretty well for someone on their first day.

Too often I see negative comments about female police officers. Those who doubt their abiliity, haven't come up against this woman. Strength is important, but it isn't everything. This woman had excellent training in hand to hand combat. Good work! And she didn't even flinch when she was shot.

Nothing like being thrown into it on your first day of training! She didn’t run, she seems to have remained ca and in control-I believe she was the one calling in for assistance and giving updates. Putting her gun in the ground was a minor mistake, but I’ve seen seasoned LEOs do the same many times on other videos.

This is one of my favorite body camera videos. The white female officer was and is a BEAST! I know she was full of adrenaline. The officer in training did what I believe a lot of us would have. The immediate reaction is never what people who don’t do this line of work think it is. She handled herself accordingly. If the lead officer isn’t a white shirt at this point then it’s a disgrace!
