TV-am opening - 16th April 1987

Published here 30 years later, an abrupt end to Central Jobfinder going into TV-am at 6.15 with Mike Morris and Caroline Righton. A fortuitous find on the end of a tape recently!

Technically TV-am starts at 6:14:50am for Mike to start speaking at 6:15am on the dot.
Quite surprised TV-am didn't kick off at at Central for broadcasting past 6am.

What I don't understand is , they had the ident but why no opening titles? Was this during the strike? Also, do you have idea when they digitised the ident? Looked so cheap compared to the water colour slide

Didn't realise that Commander David Philpott was still at TV-am as late as 1987.

JasonC1782 I was surprised to see him there too. They mention he's covering Wincey's sick leave, so I don't think he was a regular face by any means.

I believe he did the weekend weather, but by September 1985 Wide awake club started at 07.30 so I doubt there needed him, after this point bar relief. After this point in time he left.

Yes, I thought that he left not long after Wincey started, even though he was moved to weekends. Come to think of it, I can't remember any other male weather forecaster at TV-am during or after Wincey Willis.
