Prices are insane. A recession is looming, some would say already here, and they charging this because people actually pay it. Soon, a lot of collectors are going to be stuck holding over priced pieces they can’t move, and companies are going to have warehouses full of discounted stock. It’s wild.

Overpriced for sure. Even $2999 would have been enough, but if they nail the production quality and those are real metal axes and not plastic I think I will still get one to pair with my Legolas and eventually Aragorn. I have the Witch King on order as well. P1 kind of pushed me into the 1/2 line as they just didn't impress me enough over my OG PFs to upgrade those as was my original plan. I ended up selling most of the 1/4 and will just focus on Weta 1/6 and environments/dios, 1/2 Infinity, and life size busts/props.
Yeah, the axes being metal would be excellent - but I don’t think they are? They openly state that the belt buckles are metal, why didn’t they say the axes were as well, if they are? They must know potential buyers would be all over that?? For the prices, all the busts and statues made with silicone I won't ever buy one. I reached out to a company I will leave unnamed and asked how long if properly cared for. They said normal silicone is around 25 years but theirs is 70 years. Now that's longer than I will be around but if I left it to a grand-kid they would be around long enough to watch it turn to garbage.
This caught my eye even though i don't have a single lotr piece, but yeah, pricey. It is funny though, cause you have a 1/3 predator behind you that was almost the same price (still can't believe they sold individual busts for $900 before shipping). I'll just keep an eye out for p1 1/3 t2 terminator and liquid cop when it comes out, and be happy with those movie pieces.

Yeah, but the Predator was a one off and not an entire line & Gimli is a ‘half sized’ 1:2 scale and has had a serious price hike from the 2 previous ‘full sized’ 1:2 scale pieces - so, guess where Infinity are going with their future pricing? Plus - I just don’t like MM!… and I have some issues, through personal experience, with certain areas of Infinity’s quality of their work!… And I agree - the P1 Pred bust is seriously overpriced (as I have said on previous vids… many times!)… 😁👍🏻

Although, I thought they were doing more 1/3 predators? Very good point about getting this piece and sort of getting locked in to collecting the others (and thereby facing more price increases). I think that's why I'm looking forward to the 1/3 prime 1 t2 terminator. 2 iconic characters, and be done with it. However, since the franchise is regarded as highly as predator, I'm sure it will be just as pricey.

Tend to agree on the pricing, I was surprised. I assume this is just where pricing is headed, manufacturing prices increasing with inflation. I think if Legolas and Gandalf were released now they would be asking another $1K or so on each. Just my thoughts.

And I’m also very confident that something like this at $3.2K will never be something to buy as a future investment! Expensive? ABSOLUTELY! Overpriced: Maybe… Unfortunately, inflation is real and there are sectors/industries that are seeing inflation rates well above the headline rates you see in the news. Raw materials and labor are vastly more expensive than when they eg listed WK for PO. Then add the fact that it’s a very limited ES with no sculpted version and you easily get to a price well above $2K. Now, I do think $3,200 is high and it would be a huge factor for me if I would be considering order this piece (which I won’t as I’m focusing on select villains in this particular LotR line). It’s definitely the best Gimli ever made (assuming production = prototype) but it comes at a high cost, especially factoring in the additional cost like shipping, import duties (if applicable), and taxes (if applicable)

The Prime 1 Sauron does not have a silicone head with hand punched hair and glass eyes. This dramatically increases the price. You can’t compare to Sauron or the 1/2 scale Witch King. I have several of their DC busts and they are incredible. That said, I was also floored by the price. However I do think that’s where things are going for pieces like this.

Gorgeous piece, best one out of the three fellowship statues they've done imo, but that's definitely a high price when thinking in terms of size. Obviously this is a lot harder to produce than the Witch-king statue, but still a huge gap in terms of pricing

It is a lovely piece. I do really like what Infinity are producing and I am glad to see more of their LOTR line coming out. If i was a brand new collector to LOTR i would be tempted to pursue the line. However i am 22+ years vested in original Sideshow & Weta lines and they remain my prime focus. I do however think the price escalation is rampant 3200 is 400 more than initial Legolas and it no longer seems to have the alternate non silicone portrait as we also saw with Gandalf. I just cannot see these silicone portraits standing the test if time 10 to 20 years from now. I think what just immediately kicks me out of collecting their line is when i see 3200$ retail i see 600 to 800 in shipping from china and another 1000 in import tax. This could be 4500 to 5000 all told delivered to my door in Scotland. I must admit I have form when it comes to irresponsibility in statue collecting hobby but i have found my limits. Congratulations Infinity you have sobered me up. Last year I cancelled my PO for Legolas Ultimate after being wowed by initial images - i still think this was the right decision. I have since cancelled quite a number of additional POs because of shipping tax and crazy PO escalation. Every collector at some point has to know their limits and this is mine. This is 1/5 the cost of a new car for me, but kudos to those collectors that chase this series I look forward to them sharing their collections for my vicarious enjoyment.

I found that price grotesque! Yeah it is done well but that price is absolutely ridiculous. And shipping etc...and if you want the whole collection you could buy an BMW...I think pricing like this is where the fun ends. If collectors are willingly accept prices like that, I think the hobby will be doomed.

Completely agree. I think I had to look three times at the price to make sure I was seeing it correctly. At first, I thought the site was listing it as Australian dollars instead of US dollars. I still can't wrap my head around it. I too think it looks brilliant, but if this is the price direction of the high-end collectibles market now, I'll be moving back to 1/6 or leaving the hobby altogether. Even at an ES of only 250, I wish them luck selling them all.

Yeah mate, when I saw the first images (& I was thinking about the pricing on their previous three 1:2 scale pieces), I was expecting this to be around $1.8K - $2.2K! So, when it revealed it was $3.2K, I was genuinely shocked!!! Such a shame, as I think the piece itself is exemplary!
I hate to use the term "overpriced" - because, generally, it's a subjective assessment.....however, considering the benchmark they've set with their other pieces....well, yes, it's overpriced. I'm wondering if they tried to bait people (completists) into the line with "introductory" pricing, and then, when they're hooked - gradually increase the pricing....although, that said - there's nothing gradual about this price hike. I was going to jump on this line, as my sole LotR collection....Legolas was pretty good, Gandalf...not so much, and this is the final nail in the coffin 😂😂

I agree with you, 100%. I assume they know their business, but this pricing seems childishly optimistic. I mean, the global economy notwithstanding, their other pieces in the line are hardly "flying off the shelf". Name any one of these 1/2 pieces, and I can name you a store (or two) that has it available. ...and they were ALL very low ES. So, I'm not sure what planet Infinity is on, or what they're smoking, but they seem to be out of touch with current global economics and the desirability of their products on the market. Hopefully this balls up of a pricing model will be their wake up call.

If you want to take prime1 company as a reference, this Gimli is more like their 1/2 scale Death Stranding premium series, and their price around 3500$ for Porter. And it was couple of years ago. I just do not see a reason to call this Gimli expensive if other companies on market put the same prices on product same level of details. It is like compare it to hot toys, of course hot toys is cheaper, but not the same product.

Gorgeous piece, best one out of the three fellowship statues they've done imo, but that's definitely a high price when thinking in terms of size. Obviously this is a lot harder to produce than the Witch-king statue, but still a huge gap in terms of pricing

And I already feel guilty if I buy a Neca figure every now and then. And I hardly buy lego sets, now that most cost hundreds. Over 3k for a just a decoration is just too much, no matter how cool it looks. That's more than most people make in a month.
Precisely mate! Some of these statue companies now are clearly just focusing on a very small % of collectors who have huge expendable budgets!
For me, this is a very risky gamble by then and I expect to see at least a couple of these companies fold in the coming years…

Couldn’t agree with you more Jase, this is the reason I got out of collecting statues years ago, although I adore this hobby I could see this rise in prices back then, it’s mental what companies are asking for pieces nowadays, hope your well bud, this is Jake by the way who used too be in no dc marvel collectibles, I don’t have my Facebook account anymore 😂

It is a lovely piece. I do really like what Infinity are producing and I am glad to see more of their LOTR line coming out. If i was a brand new collector to LOTR i would be tempted to pursue the line. However i am 22+ years vested in original Sideshow & Weta lines and they remain my prime focus. I do however think the price escalation is rampant 3200 is 400 more than initial Legolas and it no longer seems to have the alternate non silicone portrait as we also saw with Gandalf. I just cannot see these silicone portraits standing the test if time 10 to 20 years from now. I think what just immediately kicks me out of collecting their line is when i see 3200$ retail i see 600 to 800 in shipping from china and another 1000 in import tax. This could be 4500 to 5000 all told delivered to my door in Scotland. I must admit I have form when it comes to irresponsibility in statue collecting hobby but i have found my limits. Congratulations Infinity you have sobered me up. Last year I cancelled my PO for Legolas Ultimate after being wowed by initial images - i still think this was the right decision. I have since cancelled quite a number of additional POs because of shipping tax and crazy PO escalation. Every collector at some point has to know their limits and this is mine. This is 1/5 the cost of a new car for me, but kudos to those collectors that chase this series I look forward to them sharing their collections for my vicarious enjoyment.

Yeah, that’s the thing with the additional costs, especially to us here in UK, they’re exceptionally high! Shipping and import on my Infinity 1:1 Nazgûl bust were just horrendous!!

Beautiful statue. Price is putting it at a level your average collector can’t justify, especially the way things are these days. The book on the base is the book of Mazarbul….in the Peter Jackson films it was written by Ori the dwarf

I found that price grotesque! Yeah it is done well but that price is absolutely ridiculous. And shipping etc...and if you want the whole collection you could buy an BMW...I think pricing like this is where the fun ends. If collectors are willingly accept prices like that, I think the hobby will be doomed.

Completely agree. I think I had to look three times at the price to make sure I was seeing it correctly. At first, I thought the site was listing it as Australian dollars instead of US dollars. I still can't wrap my head around it.
I too think it looks brilliant, but if this is the price direction of the high-end collectibles market now, I'll be moving back to 1/6 or leaving the hobby altogether.
Even at an ES of only 250, I wish them luck selling them all.

Mate what a shame they chose that price tag for this unit. Portrait is unbelievably perfect armor etc. I just seen on their official channel the “unboxing” for 1/2 Gandalf and their quality is simply class. They got it man but they threw it all out with Gimli’s pricing 😰

Figurines are expensive, so I'd say about 500 USD is reasonable for this.
Hi there… $500 would be extremely low mate! This is a 1:2 scale with silicone skin, glass eyes, hand rooted hair and precise detailing throughout! For me, a ‘reasonable’ price would be around the $2000 - $2500 mark?…

Yeah mate, when I saw the first images (& I was thinking about the pricing on their previous three 1:2 scale pieces), I was expecting this to be around $1.8K - $2.2K! So, when it revealed it was $3.2K, I was genuinely shocked!!!
Such a shame, as I think the piece itself is exemplary!
I hate to use the term "overpriced" - because, generally, it's a subjective assessment.....however, considering the benchmark they've set with their other pieces....well, yes, it's overpriced. I'm wondering if they tried to bait people (completists) into the line with "introductory" pricing, and then, when they're hooked - gradually increase the pricing....although, that said - there's nothing gradual about this price hike.
I was going to jump on this line, as my sole LotR collection....Legolas was pretty good, Gandalf...not so much, and this is the final nail in the coffin 😂😂

I agree with you, 100%. I assume they know their business, but this pricing seems childishly optimistic. I mean, the global economy notwithstanding, their other pieces in the line are hardly "flying off the shelf". Name any one of these 1/2 pieces, and I can name you a store (or two) that has it available. ...and they were ALL very low ES. So, I'm not sure what planet Infinity is on, or what they're smoking, but they seem to be out of touch with current global economics and the desirability of their products on the market. Hopefully this balls up of a pricing model will be their wake up call.

For my money… Weta & Prime 1 have the LOTR secured, everyone else has a real fight on their hands & from what I’ve seen, the majority of hardened, long-term LOTR collectors seem to be disinterested in this scale? Of course, that’s not to say ALL!! Certainly a small % are very interested in this line.
But is that ‘small %’ enough to fund an entire line? I think not!!!

If you want to take prime1 company as a reference, this Gimli is more like their 1/2 scale Death Stranding premium series, and their price around 3500$ for Porter. And it was couple of years ago.
I just do not see a reason to call this Gimli expensive if other companies on market put the same prices on product same level of details.
It is like compare it to hot toys, of course hot toys is cheaper, but not the same product.
