There must be something bad with my ears but I prefer Jamo speakers instead of these vintage magnat speakers. Jamo has better middle resolution although we are talking over a 150- 200 euros range price.. They are not a 5000 euros Proac.
Wrong way to test speakers, the magnat spekers has frontal bass unit that fires toward the jamo has a 8" bass unit at the side that in the video blocked by the furnuter . the magnat sound nice for they age but for optimal low range sound the s606 got to stand with 2 meters of open space on the woofer side insteed of hearing the sound of the woofer you listening to hums & feedback from the items from the side
Jamo is more precise...has a dry and precise bass..... bass from others is loosen...i would keep both..... Magnat (center one) for bass and Jamo for mids and treble.... quality goes for Jamo...more precise...less boomy...i do think Jamo is superior in quality, despite we like the crazy bass from Magnat...but we have to separate quality from our personnal taste...one is precise..other matches our taste of boominess and lack of precision.
Thanks for your opinion, I only hope you don't make the mistake others did and close your eyes for other options.... this speaker, and not only this one but lots of jamo speakers are just bad sounding speakers, If you open your mind and start at 0 for every brand, without going for the looks you will find out that jamo is for this price a bad speaker, they more sound like a set what cost about 50 euro on ebay. Also modern av receivers can't match the vintage quality, if you ever try, you know.
Jamo was taken over by Klipsh they have been crap since then if you want to listen to some great Jamos listen to the Concert VIIs they are probably one of the best speakers ever made they won loudspeaker of the year on 1989.
Nice comparison! You know, the Jamo does not sound bad for the driver size, but the Magnat 110's are definitely much stronger on base. The MSP 70 sounds a bit weak on bass and stronger in mid than the 110's.
Ever since I heard the all ribbon Magnat speakers back in the 80's I have been a Magnat fan. I agree with the commentary in the videos; the Magnats win this comparison. I read the comments about the highs from the Jamos being better and I strongly disagree. More treble doesn't equal better sound, may even fatigue your ears after prolonged listening. I'd be hard pressed to find any speaker manufacturer in the world aside from Acapella perhaps that knows sound like Magnat, especially the highs. The Magnat bass is very tight in the upper bass range which make them useful for many types of music, and the all ribbon wires really do produce detail and speed. The MSP vintage line is definitely a fine speaker in the used market, from Europe's largest speaker manufacturer. I use a set of MSP-300's in mint shape daily and every time I go to the malls and check out other speakers, only the ones in the $4000 plus range really sound better. As a general rule, if you hear some good gear running mid to upper end German speakers, they will most likely change all that you thought you knew of audio.
More details but less bass -Jamo.... Full sound clear mids and highs, deeper bass -Magnat Prefer Magnats, personally own Magnat All Ribbon 6, perfect, detailed highs and mids, correct and powerfull bass with no bassreflex 10inch woofer works properly, with excellent cabinets, made in western germany ...Nice video
few days ago I bought a jvc set(jvc rx-1010vtn) with MB quart 890 mcs speakers. Did not pay much attention to the speakers, left them behind the front door and started testing the jvc. But after I put them for sale and got 2 emails that they both want to give me the asking price I waked up and lifted them to my living room, connect them to my marantz 2238b and I was sold. I heard many speakers over the years but I never heard something like this.Put my magnats for sale the next day! LUCKY LUCKY
Wish you a good vintage score for the holidays. I just put a used pair of 8 inch Paradigm 8 woofers in a pair of Reference 228L speakers, took out the blown passive 8 woofers, then put the tired Reference wired woofers in the holes where the passive woofers were. I also put a 1 amp fuse in place of a 1/2 amp blown fuse which allowed the tweeter to work better than before. I hooked up a Panasonic SA-6200 receiver (pre-Technics) and holy cow! I got some sound! Total separation, bass, highs. Goodwill thrift speakers for $30USD a pair, eBay receiver for $40USD plus $30USD post. Receiver is 40 watts per channel , speakers are a liner phase loud system ,8 ohms, 60 watts max power, manufacture d in USA by CBS Audio Products. A guy in New York selling a pair for 250USD. Have A Good One, Tom
I own a pair of s606 for 10 years now so i really wanted them to win. Although in this video i think the winner is the msp 70. But to be fair you didn't have the s606 set up right.
you are very funy person, like your videos.i see you are big magnat fun...i was too...now i am in love with my jamo...good day from germany and keep good work
I have some Magnat MSP 300 I recently acquired and am extremely impressed with. Excellent build except for the bottom wire only terminal and no place for spikes. I modified mine and added outriggers with spikes and rear binding posts. Great vintage speakers though and great video!
Ik weet niet meer welke versterker ik voor deze video heb gebruikt. Maar de magnat speakers van toen klinken beter dan vele topmerken van nu die bijna allemaal een slechte bas hebben door de slanke ontwerpen en kleine bas speakers.
Ja ben inmiddels erachter dat je oud spul en nieuw spul niet kan vergelijken. Heb jamo studio monitors en erres versterker nu uit de 70s. Klinkt beter als Sony en magnat 20?? Goed spul wordt er niet meer gemaakt.
try these links, they are in dutch but you can use google translate. be aware that after the take over in 1993 the quality is changed, there are a few series who are good after 1993 but before 1993 is the good stuff. a few good series are the: all ribbon, zero, magnasphere, msp, sigma, see the website links in my discription
I just bought/test/sold a 1979 sansui G-7500. I was hunting for a receiver from this series for a long time , just for the looks... I didn't understand why they cost that much, I bought/sold it for a higher price most new 5 x 120W av receivers cost! You really think people are crazy, all the persons who bid on this g-7500 knew what it was and how it sound, watch my coming video about the sansui g-7500, I was also surprised, the best sound I ever heard. not one new one can match this one.
They are bright but quite harsh, not strictly detailed as such compared to better speakers IMO. Bright is not the same as detailed. They sound more like a stereo or hi-fi system, than a home theatre grade speaker IMO. :)
those Magnats sound awesome! the mid and hi's are very present, and the bass is rich and accurate; you don't need a sub with those magnats. The good looking Jamos have OK mid and hi's but they are a muted. The Bass is thin on the Jamos; if you add a sub on those jamos, there will be a big 'hole' in the lower mids (and add to the expense of the speaker system). Magnats are way better than that Jamo set; no contest.
Going to get some wharfedales diamonds 9.5 and 9.1 end of this week. I want to know if they sound as better as the jamo's, i love the looks of the wharfdales, hope they sound nice , but i dont think they can beat my magnats and quarts.
Ik heb een cd van Nina Hagen en daar wordt een glas in kapot gegooid. Toen ik mijn nieuwe set had draaide ik de cd en ik schrok me een hoedje ik dacht dat ik mijn glas van de tafel had gestoten. Dit had ik nog nooit bij mijn oude instalatie gehoord. Je ondekt allemaal nieuwe geluiden op je cd, er ging een wereld voor me open.
the jamos are by way the best speakers in this test. crystal clear sound, strong middle, hard and clear bass. first of all you have to get the jamo speakers in the right position, this is very important (min 40cm from the wall, the side bassspeakers should shown away from each other). if you want hear music like "dead can dance" from kiko or someting like this, jamo beat your magnats. but if you are a 80´s kid with dance, hiphop and so on, better don´t show for real good speakers. just buy some crap high and middle and putt 4-10 cheap active subs in your room. this is the sound you want. this jamos are very good, clear and precise speakers. they give the sound that way he is, no plus and no minus. you also need a good amplifier or all speakers are useless. and its personal taste.
No doubt they are clean, but there is something about highly engineered speakers. Imo these Jamos still use drivers you could probably buy for a couple of hundred for the lot - doesn't mean they are bad, I just like unique designs for speakers. I've been trying to find a speaker that sounds good on "everything" aside from bad recordings. I've found one that is very close, from the 80's. Never get that sound for the price I paid in a new speaker ;p All metal drivers. I have speakers I made that also uses small aluminium midrange/woofer, so I have a fair idea of what the Jamo could sound like. I do like the sound, but can be something missing at times. I listened to that DcD song, and I also listen to rock, movie tracks, orchestral, most other things except most rap and boring dubstep songs. Agree on speaker placement, it matters. Having lots of other speakers in the vicinity also affects the sound
i own a set of the s606 i really love them :D and i use a set of jamo ls800 as surround speakers (and some crappy jvc center speaker, but i dont have the money to buy something better)
It must be your own preference and what waves your ears like. I had Jamo 606 before when they first appeared. Heard them at the store and loved them, however got shock at home. They sounded weird. It's very important how you positioning them within the room and apart from each other. And make sure you Bi-Wire them! Trust me it will not disappoint. You olso need a strong amp to move them and listed them slightly louder. Then they can sing. By the way matching bookshelfs and center one are very weak. Did not like them at all. Floor standers are amazing. Would I by them again? 100% yes
jamo is goed, zelf heb ik de Jamo S 628 HCS 5.0, en heb geen problemen, maar magnat was best in de jaren 70 a 80, en het is natuurlijk welke receiver je gebruikt dat is heel belangrijk ik heb de denon AVR-X1100W alles digitaal en goed geluid
Going by as good as we can on YT, I reckon the Jamos by a good stretch overall Good tight bass decent midrange and as Carlos says. smooth treble also Magnat msp-110 sound punchy but very recessed with ok midrange, Magnat msp-70 sound a bit wooden and light but more detailed than the msp-110 Jamo S606 are aimed more towards a home theatre than 2 ch. stereo with the passive 8in drivers on the side, so it goes to show how speaker sound have improved over time. Try Jamo C600 C800 range , seriously good speakers
I agree that you can get great value on older speakers. You can also find a lot of trash ;p Edit: All you people listening, do remember that you are hearing these speakers in his room, through a microphone, and played back on your speakers in your room. Listen to the actual music track and you will hear just how much his room and mic change the sound. As well as the speakers being different, certain speaker recordings will sound great on your speakers, but may be crap in real life. Goes the other way too! And finally, personal preference! In your recording I am finding a lack of bass in the centre speaker - could be a room mode. The mids also seem to be very low
I love the old magnats, you not gonna believe me i have the msp 70 and the 110 and i have also 6 times the msp 120 powered with a yamaha amp it cost me years to find 6 msp 120 speakers For the bass i use a omega 380 (15 inch) sub and a little fast jamo active sub(8inch) I have seen a lot of speakers and the old magnats are realy nice speakers Magnat Maakte in die tijd veel gebruik van vifa units uit denemarken.Beste tijd was toch wel voor de jaren 90 toen de woofers nog van papier waren ipv kunstof en de frames van aluminium ipv staal en de rubber randen die bijna onverwoestbaar zijn
and btw, u cant compare just 1 speaker to the other, maybe one has less lows than the other, but better mids or highs than the other, i hear magnat fires better lows, but dosnt matter cuz u will add a subwoofer to the mix and it will cover them, same as for highs, u can cover them with better satellite speakers,
Ik had vroeger ook jamo, er zat een goede bas in maar was op den duur vermoeiend, heb toen elac speakers gekocht en die heb ik nu al 20 jaar en klinken veel beter maar waren ook veeeeel duurder.
Whas the microphone every time on the same spot? I think the Jamo sound awesome for such cheap speakers. They have a punching bass and sound more natural. I like Magnat speakers but this time, in this video Jamo wins.
С другой стороны, мне дома саб не нужен совсем... Все играет очень здорово! И очень многое зависит от записи :) Усилитель 2х250 Ватт - только один раз включал на половину громкости... В этом случае танцует даже мебель ))) Что здорово - на небольшой громкости у Jamo очень хорошая детальность звука.
This test is, although the publisher states it not representative for the actual sound.. And sound is a very personal experience, I do not think that an individual can tell what speaker is 'the best' , some like clarity, others go for an extended mid range, others want boomy bass... only way to tell is to be in the room, and listen to them.. The Jamo S6xx series gets good reviews, but I love the vintage Magnat sound... but like I said.. it's personal... there is no wrong or right here, when talking about mid or high-end speakers..
you might be correct in every thing you said ... but ! the way it was recorder the JAMO sound the clearest and the best the others sound compressed, too much of everything trying to escape .. and the jamo again .. i emphasize that the way you have recorded it .. sound open and clear .. the only bad point is that the bass is muddied but that again is from the microphone probably .. and in absolutely no way you could reproduce or show us the viewers the comparison between speakers ..
For sure i would not pay more for Jamo...if same price, i would be confused wich one to buy as i would love the loosen bass of Magnat (unprecise oil barrel filled with reverberations) and i would love the realism of the Jamo...with some lack of bass...or..... mids and treble are just louder..it is a matter of include 10 ohms resistors in series with the midrange driver and 6 ohms in series with the tweeter and everything gonna be all right...you will not feel it with lack of bass...just ballance...anything more then ballance.
MSP 70 sounds the best imho. The S606 sounds a bit thin compared to it. Mids sound a bit hollow and they lack a bit in the low end. But the MSP 110? They just sound bad. As if something is wrong with them (faulty crossover, phase issue..?). The mids are to recessed. It pumps bass like a mofo but that's about all it does. Not a musical sound at all. If I had to choose between these 3 I would go for the Jamo's and pair a nice sub with them. They probably wouldn't sound as good as the MSP 70's that way but they wouldn't be an eye sore in my living room either. The MSP 110's I would not even consider. They sound as bad as they look.
You are 100% wright, if I had a zoom microphone it would be different but all these camcorder mics are terrible. the one in my cam is very good for a camcorder mi, but bad if you compare it with a zoom mic. In real the jamos sound terrible compared with the magnat's but in the video it is hard to say indeed...
The German manufacturer has a wide frequency spectrum ,it is very funny . Bass play magnate of 28Hz ? Hahah No, not unfortunately !!!! Jamo - you have a very high quality sound due to price and the real parameters ! As the frequency range of 42hz - 20Khz with the specified tolerance. Jamo is definitely better :)
+Florentin Niculae thank you, after i made this movie i sold them all except the zero 5. The zero5 i blew up due to a dirty switch in a amp. Since then I am looking for other zero 5 but bought the zero 7 the msp120, bought back the msp 70 and also bought the msp 60, ...so time for a new vs movie
+vintage stereo You are lucky in your country Netherlands. In Romania This speakers is like a dinosaurs.I looking to buy it one pair.Currently I have a pairs Canton Nestor 702 but i don't satisfied with tweeters.no crystalline treble. My amplifier Onkyo Integra 8690 an cd Onkyo Integra 706
hi, it seams tha tthe magnat msp 110 had almost no mid frequences, either speaker or kondensators are in bad shape. it is really hardto impossible to test 2 different speaker settings like that, some speaker prefare hard sounding amps, while others like warmer tube sounding amps. i gotmagnat msp 300 since 1989 and they sounding great till today. i like the speed of magnat systems cuz they use flat coils instead of round coils, and made of aluminium. this is faster then copper, cuz its lighter in weight, meaning faster to react....sorry for my school english. PS dont use mp3 or anyýthing like that, best to test speaker with vinyl records on a real good turntable with good pickup system like ortophon mc200/t30 combination yamaha pre/end amp komp with minimum 200 watt sinus....or anything that range...
Heel nice, heb zondag nog een paar msp 200 in erg goede staat op marktplaats gekocht voor maar 50 euro! Die klinken ook echt geweldig... Zo helder als de msp 70 en nog betere bass dan de msp 110. Ik ben echt verliefd op die dingen
vintage stereo ohh zo. De hele reden dat ik die magnats heb gekocht is deze video haha, ik was al langer op zoek naar speakers waarbij ik geen subwoofer nodig zou hebben
so...?what do you yhink for price in poor serbia? thin cristal clear speaker is match whit the please were i live :) afcourse BATT (but) i reali likes the presents :)
B&W have some very good speakers, but they are also more expensive, the magnat zero 5 are around 200/225 euro second hand, for that money it's hard to find good b&w's. But yes there are plenty better speakers than the zero 5 It's all abvout how much you want to spend for them. The zero 5 is a much better speaker than the jamo s606, they are in the same price range second hand.
I have the jamo and they need bi wire!! And then the are fantastic! The lowest i got out of it almost 15hz and NEVER!!! Test your speakers at 25% you need atleast 50%
1-left magnat - visoki-ok,srednji(+),bas(-/+) / 2-right/middle magnat - visoki-ok, srednji-(-) , bas(++) / right-jamo s606- treable(+) , Middle (++) , woofer (+) i prefer deep house, tech house and electronik so on my zamaha rx-v1900 , canton fonum 701dc , canton fonum sc3 , canton c875 and canton av700 + yamaha sub woofer yst-w010 x2 is that sound come from speaker throu sound blaster fatality shampion edition german spdif and x box one hdmi interconect (wire is something dojch olso,so i think for me is prefer all three BaTT! i jamo keep just like present and i happy now (edge of tomorow :) because i dont 380euro in pocket to by them from KP in srb :( thac ok to i keep them like presents mondjuk ra (its black friday and its your !!) im just now happy, and wait for them (ako treba i 1years :)
Libijan Jovanovic magnat have modern tweeters, still hard to beat these days, old sound is for example the jbl l100, these magnats sound superior in compare with the jbl l100
Generally speaker manufacturers these days have managed to reduce large peaks in response (or sounds of) that older speakers may have had. They also tend to have "smiley face EQ". Modern sounds "cleaner" but can sometimes lack involvement, dynamics. The equivalent inflated cost modern speaker would compete and even beat the older speaker. It's just that a lot of people can get old speakers that cost 2-3k back in the day for 200-300, and compare them to speakers costing less than 2k today. You'd probably need to at least get something 3-5k to get some good engineering that's not just added aesthetics. Case in point - the Jamo's are thinner, and use small drivers for more of the midrange, which can make it less bloomy in the lower midrange. You may still get flat, clean response, but the widebox/woofer design of older speakers gives a "bigger" sound that some people like. Just being wide doesn't mean it's good though, i.e. get one of those cheap flimsy big boxes and it will sound "warm" but not very clean.
ineed, ... seems... is the good word here, because it seems to be a good speaker but it is not a good speaker. Like i say before, the speakers are just good looking nothing more.
the magnats both sound dull and washed out. the jamo clear and crisp, it has more mids. Better than the bathtub effect from the magnats. To me the Jamo sound a lot better and more precise.
B&W made some cheap stuff in the 80's/early 90's. The DM110 and de the DM220 were nothing special in terms of build quality. People bought them for the branding and not for the quality. On the other hand, quadral, magnat, Jamo, Bose did the same.
I love your videos..you are kind and clever...what i do not like...SALSA!... and i am South American from Brazil...but we hate Salsa..we love Samba....the rithm of carnival with all drums you love in Nedherland
I agree with you the jamo sound like shit compared to the others, that's my personal taste. My mains speakers are from he 70s and I'm happy so I think I like the old sound better.
*Magnat msp 70 sounds the best*
Jamo is more precise...has a dry and precise bass..... bass from others is loosen...i would keep both..... Magnat (center one) for bass and Jamo for mids and treble.... quality goes for Jamo...more precise...less boomy...i do think Jamo is superior in quality, despite we like the crazy bass from Magnat...but we have to separate quality from our personnal taste...one is precise..other matches our taste of boominess and lack of precision.
They are shit Come on! Shittiest speakers I got, just trying to sell them
For me msp 70 sounds best
The Jamo's are entry level speakers in their line. Try the concert series.
As a general rule, if you hear some good gear running mid to upper end German speakers, they will most likely change all that you thought you knew of audio.
i agree with you
More details but less bass -Jamo....
Full sound clear mids and highs, deeper bass -Magnat
Prefer Magnats, personally own Magnat All Ribbon 6, perfect, detailed highs and mids, correct and powerfull bass with no bassreflex 10inch woofer works properly, with excellent cabinets, made in western germany ...Nice video
MSP 70 is better ..
few days ago I bought a jvc set(jvc rx-1010vtn) with MB quart 890 mcs speakers.
Magnat MSP 110 for sure, the sound is very good.
you are very funy person, like your videos.i see you are big magnat fun...i was too...now i am in love with my jamo...good day from germany and keep good work
I have some Magnat MSP 300 I recently acquired and am extremely impressed with. Excellent build except for the bottom wire only terminal and no place for spikes. I modified mine and added outriggers with spikes and rear binding posts. Great vintage speakers though and great video!
zarrdoss your neighbours will not be happy as you because they will feel the bass kicks from these speakers, they have a tremendous low end
And I also use a Sunfire 12" architectural sub with them to fill in the extreme bottom end as well.
magnat maakt mooie speakers.
What I want to tell you is that good (not all) vintage is much better than the new stuff.
Jamo is the best by far. they just need to be paired with a sub. The two magnat sounds awefull.
Jamo is bullshit😂
try these links, they are in dutch but you can use google translate. be aware that after the take over in 1993 the quality is changed, there are a few series who are good after 1993 but before 1993 is the good stuff. a few good series are the: all ribbon, zero, magnasphere, msp, sigma,
see the website links in my discription
I just bought/test/sold a 1979 sansui G-7500. I was hunting for a receiver from this series for a long time , just for the looks... I didn't understand why they cost that much, I bought/sold it for a higher price most new 5 x 120W av receivers cost! You really think people are crazy, all the persons who bid on this g-7500 knew what it was and how it sound, watch my coming video about the sansui g-7500, I was also surprised, the best sound I ever heard. not one new one can match this one.
better sound on Jamo, they are more clear on details..
They are bright but quite harsh, not strictly detailed as such compared to better speakers IMO. Bright is not the same as detailed. They sound more like a stereo or hi-fi system, than a home theatre grade speaker IMO. :)
it seems that the Magnat msp 70 has a bit more fuller sound than the msp 110 - for me the msl 70 is the winner
the name is faith dub from label 48, i put the direct link under the video in my disription
I think the Magnat has a better bass punch.
those Magnats sound awesome! the mid and hi's are very present, and the bass is rich and accurate; you don't need a sub with those magnats. The good looking Jamos have OK mid and hi's but they are a muted. The Bass is thin on the Jamos; if you add a sub on those jamos, there will be a big 'hole' in the lower mids (and add to the expense of the speaker system). Magnats are way better than that Jamo set; no contest.
The Jamo have a punching bass. And even they are cheaper, they sound better.
Having lots of other speakers in the vicinity also affects the sound
i own a set of the s606 i really love them :D
and i use a set of jamo ls800 as surround speakers (and some crappy jvc center speaker, but i dont have the money to buy something better)
Going by as good as we can on YT, I reckon the Jamos by a good stretch overall
Good tight bass decent midrange and as Carlos says. smooth treble also
Magnat msp-110 sound punchy but very recessed with ok midrange,
Magnat msp-70 sound a bit wooden and light but more detailed than the msp-110
Jamo S606 are aimed more towards a home theatre than 2 ch. stereo with the passive 8in drivers on the side,
so it goes to show how speaker sound have improved over time.
Try Jamo C600 C800 range , seriously good speakers
I agree that you can get great value on older speakers. You can also find a lot of trash ;p
Edit: All you people listening, do remember that you are hearing these speakers in his room, through a microphone, and played back on your speakers in your room.
The mids also seem to be very low
bedankt voor je bericht, daarom raad ik iedereen ook aan beter een goede 2ehands set voor hetzelfde geld ipv een nieuwe set speakers te kopen.
I love the old magnats, you not gonna believe me i have the msp 70 and the 110 and i have also 6 times the msp 120 powered with a yamaha amp it cost me years to find 6 msp 120 speakers
For the bass i use a omega 380 (15 inch) sub and a little fast jamo active sub(8inch)
I have seen a lot of speakers and the old magnats are realy nice speakers
Magnat Maakte in die tijd veel gebruik van vifa units uit denemarken.Beste tijd was toch wel voor de jaren 90 toen de woofers nog van papier waren ipv kunstof en de frames van aluminium ipv staal en de rubber randen die bijna onverwoestbaar zijn
and btw, u cant compare just 1 speaker to the other, maybe one has less lows than the other, but better mids or highs than the other, i hear magnat fires better lows, but dosnt matter cuz u will add a subwoofer to the mix and it will cover them, same as for highs, u can cover them with better satellite speakers,
Ik had vroeger ook jamo, er zat een goede bas in maar was op den duur vermoeiend, heb toen elac speakers gekocht en die heb ik nu al 20 jaar en klinken veel beter maar waren ook veeeeel duurder.
The Jamo S6xx series gets good reviews, but I love the vintage Magnat sound... but like I said.. it's personal... there is no wrong or right here, when talking about mid or high-end speakers..
you are wright, it's very personal. my taste is not the taste for another person
Magnat is the best
you might be correct in every thing you said ... but ! the way it was recorder the JAMO sound the clearest and the best the others sound compressed, too much of everything trying to escape .. and the jamo again .. i emphasize that the way you have recorded it .. sound open and clear .. the only bad point is that the bass is muddied but that again is from the microphone probably .. and in absolutely no way you could reproduce or show us the viewers the comparison between speakers ..
For sure i would not pay more for Jamo...if same price, i would be confused wich one to buy as i would love the loosen bass of Magnat (unprecise oil barrel filled with reverberations) and i would love the realism of the Jamo...with some lack of bass...or..... mids and treble are just louder..it is a matter of include 10 ohms resistors in series with the midrange driver and 6 ohms in series with the tweeter and everything gonna be all right...you will not feel it with lack of bass...just ballance...anything more then ballance.
thanks for the support because some are very stubborn and still believe jamo is good
Midrange of the Jamo seems to be better, overall balance of the Jamo is better.
I can tell you that im convinced. Do you know something about Magnat art nr. 1011510?
I can buy them for 89e second hand?
Also 100/150w...
They sound as bad as they look.
i have the magnat all ribbon 10p and simaudio electronic made in quebec/canada take a look on this
You are 100% wright, if I had a zoom microphone it would be different but all these camcorder mics are terrible. the one in my cam is very good for a camcorder mi, but bad if you compare it with a zoom mic. In real the jamos sound terrible compared with the magnat's but in the video it is hard to say indeed...
en die MSP70 klinkt alsof ie in een kartonnen doos speelt,.
Спасибо)
Thank you for good test)
So everyone have his preferences but in general I have to agree that old MAGNATS are much much batter! and thanks for your effort;-)
peace
which is the melody name?
I Own Magnat Ribbon 8P Acrylic superb sound.
The sound is so crisp and clear from the jamo. you cant hear any of the highs and mids from the magnats
You are delucional! Shittiest Tweeter I know😂
The German manufacturer has a wide frequency spectrum ,it is very funny . Bass play magnate of 28Hz ? Hahah
No, not unfortunately !!!!
Jamo - you have a very high quality sound due to price and the real parameters ! As the frequency range of 42hz - 20Khz with the specified tolerance.
Jamo is definitely better
:)
Jamo s606 ook gehad pff echt waardeloze dingen. Het hele stereobeeld klinkt voor geen meter. Bass is rommelig echt een 4 waard. Greets roy
ik heb 2x akai sr 1050 gekcoht maar de tweeters zijn kapot ik denk dat ik voor €4 al 2 nieuwe tweeters paizo zo iets
I listen to it through Jamo S606))) The Sound is changes. Jamo doesn't suffice low frequencies, but sub to it will help :)
Very good speach and commentary.
What’s. The name of that song
hi,
it seams tha tthe magnat msp 110 had almost no mid frequences, either speaker or kondensators are in bad shape. it is really hardto impossible to test 2 different speaker settings like that, some speaker prefare hard sounding amps, while others like warmer tube sounding amps. i gotmagnat msp 300 since 1989 and they sounding great till today. i like the speed of magnat systems cuz they use flat coils instead of round coils, and made of aluminium. this is faster then copper, cuz its lighter in weight, meaning faster to react....sorry for my school english.
PS dont use mp3 or anyýthing like that, best to test speaker with vinyl records on a real good turntable with good pickup system like ortophon mc200/t30 combination yamaha pre/end amp komp with minimum 200 watt sinus....or anything that range...
Magnat 110 is my favourite, whats the dub track?
uh..read teh description!
Heel nice, heb zondag nog een paar msp 200 in erg goede staat op marktplaats gekocht voor maar 50 euro! Die klinken ook echt geweldig... Zo helder als de msp 70 en nog betere bass dan de msp 110. Ik ben echt verliefd op die dingen
50?, mooie prijs
vintage stereo ik zag trouwens in de video waarin je de beovox op ging halen dat je in uitgeest was, woon je daar ook?
nee woon in r'dam
vintage stereo ohh zo.
Try some Spendor SP1's...
Good speakers for the money is my verdict, the Magnats are much older, emphasising bass and stingy treble.
System matching is the answer.
can you do review of hh scott S196B . i own a hh scott s196 nott the same but they are one of the clearest speakers i have ever heard.
Jamo S606 sound good but the others sound real more alive
for me Magnat is much better, and I wanted to buy jamo :(
i tested them with both speakers, only for the video i showd only 1
hele slechte tweeters in jamo .... staat een mooi setje magnat op mp met mooie stand in de zelfde kleur 125 euro is volgens mij een koopje ?
If you use bigger size Jamo speakers compare with smaller Magnat, you will find out what is the matter.
B&W have some very good speakers, but they are also more expensive, the magnat zero 5 are around 200/225 euro second hand, for that money it's hard to find good b&w's. But yes there are plenty better speakers than the zero 5 It's all abvout how much you want to spend for them. The zero 5 is a much better speaker than the jamo s606, they are in the same price range second hand.
magnat msp 70.
super sount nr"1
nr"2 jamo
nr"3 magnat
I like the Magnat
Not even a comparison. The Jamo's HANDS DOWN. Bi-Amp them and really let them shine.
They are shit period😂
Jamo has modern sound.Magnat has old sound.Magnat sounds like speakers from eighties.
Libijan Jovanovic magnat have modern tweeters, still hard to beat these days, old sound is for example the jbl l100, these magnats sound superior in compare with the jbl l100
What is modern sound?
Magnat make great speakers but this time in this video Jamo sound better.
Just being wide doesn't mean it's good though, i.e. get one of those cheap flimsy big boxes and it will sound "warm" but not very clean.
plyz song name
ineed, ... seems... is the good word here, because it seems to be a good speaker but it is not a good speaker. Like i say before, the speakers are just good looking nothing more.
I don,t like both of them . but I like your videos good work !!!
the magnats both sound dull and washed out. the jamo clear and crisp, it has more mids. Better than the bathtub effect from the magnats.
To me the Jamo sound a lot better and more precise.
You have to listen this video whit headphones
Jamo All the way
I love the Magnat 110, Im a Bass head
B&W made some cheap stuff in the 80's/early 90's. The DM110 and de the DM220 were nothing special in terms of build quality. People bought them for the branding and not for the quality. On the other hand, quadral, magnat, Jamo, Bose did the same.
Magnat msp 70 1st, Magnat msp 110 2nd, Jamo. 4th place (3rd place was total silence)
magnat is better
surround beat good looking
I love your videos..you are kind and clever...what i do not like...SALSA!... and i am South American from Brazil...but we hate Salsa..we love Samba....the rithm of carnival with all drums you love in Nedherland
i would have liked to hear that for real. From my perspective, they all sounded like a Samsung Note tablet.
In the end jamo sounds better and clear magnat sound too boomy and flat and seems you move the mike when is sounding the magnat
msp 70 sounds is No.1 msp 110 is No.2 and Jamo is No.3
I agree with you the jamo sound like shit compared to the others, that's my personal taste. My mains speakers are from he 70s and I'm happy so I think I like the old sound better.
Home cinema speaker is not for stereo music! Hifi speaker is again not a studio monitor! Every type for something else ! Magnat is rubbish.
