- Ex-LMS Coronation Pacific, 6233 (46233) Duchess Of Sutherland, on a number of workings over Shap and the Settle & Carlisle Railway in 2005 and 2006, including:
- The Dining Dalesman (17 September 2005);
- The Northern Belle (12 October 2005);
- The Hadrian (1 July 2006);
- Cumbrian Mountain Dalesman (5 August 2006 and 19 August 2006).
- The Dalesman (12 August 2006).
Nothing better than 6233 hard at work David, sadly missed up north but hopefully we can get to see her again.
Let's see what happens after the intermediate overhaul, perhaps could be of use to West Coast at the moment.
We still get to see that loco out on the mainline since then
Indeed Scott, but only once on the S&C since 2017; hopefully that will change. Cheers, David.
@@Linesider1yeah I hope so
Excellent quality footage David with the Duchess working well. The future is a bit hazy where these privately owned locos are concerned given the current situation
Thanks Austin, always a pleasure to see 6233. It certainly is rather hazy - perhaps there is an opportunity developing for some of the privately owned air-braked loco's.
An excellent collection David and some choice action from the Duchess, sadly a rare visitor the these parts nowadays, cheers nige👍
Many thanks Nige, yes it's a shame how things have gone. Perhaps an opportunity is arising for her to work some air-braked trains but we shall see.
Fabulous collection of videos from the archives, thanks for posting.
Many thanks Steve, appreciated your comment and you're welcome. Lots more on the way. Cheers, David.
She just ouses power in those wonderful shots David. Well worth a revisit. Thanks. Take care - Chris
Many thanks Chris, much appreciated. She does indeed - a wonderful machine, and so many enjoyable experiences both at the lineside and on-board. Looking forwards to her return from intermediate overhaul. Cheers, David.
Excellent footage of the Duchess David. Just a reminder that she was a regular feature over the Northern fells up until recently.
Thank you very much Simon, she was indeed and is much missed - hopefully things may turn in her favour again soon for some runs over her former stamping ground. Cheers, David.
Cookin'!!! That's a terrific compilation there David, thanks for putting it all together. Cheerz, Alan
Many thanks Alan, much appreciated. I spent much of Christmas and New Year editing, always a good time to reflect.
A great compilation there of the BIG Lady hard at work in her natural habitat.
I'll would have been out somewhere for most of those trips with the camera.
Many thanks for sharing.
Thanks very much, great days and I hope it brought back happy memories for you too.
A good Duchess is hard to beat.
Coming from someone raised in Somerset that's quite a compliment.
Noel
Indeed it is Noel, fabulous engines.
Archive footage is a benchmark that shows how evolved your art is today
Many thanks Sorin, much appreciated and yes it's good to look back and reflect on earlier approaches to filming and also the technology of the time. Thanks, David.
Oh yessss! Another fantastic archive video 👍🏻
Many thanks LoKe
Brilliant camerawork and subject matter David
Thanks Dad, happy days in the fells.
@@Linesider1Yes indeed David
