Now I see what all of the excitement is about. These guys impress me as rock solid.
Seems like a group or men that hold themselves accountable which is exactly what is needed at Mizzou. Counzo was a good man, but didn't have the drive and hunger and the will to do better when he failed as a coach. Wasn't sure what to think about the hire at first because I hadn't seem much from Coach Gates, but love his confidence and energy. That is what has been missing with the last 3 coaches. That energy and confidence brings in the recruits. It's been since Mike Anderson was here that they really recruited well and that is going to return with these guys. Really excited for the future of the program and to see Mizzou Arena flowing with energy like it used to.
Missouri fans, I have a great feeling about coach Gates. It's early, but I feel good in my bones. And that's a good feeling.
Very impressed with Coach Young, and with Coach Gates for having the emotional maturity to hire someone who is a colleague, who challenges you, and who could easily be your boss. Through Coach Gates leadership and his team’s capabilities, I think Mizzou has a bright future ahead.

Cleveland State University is going to miss a great person but, a GREAT LEADER OF YOUNG MEN!!! Missouri you should be standing proud. He will install great defense and also, great men inside the classroom that will follow the players outside of basketball to make them good family men and giving them the tools to have a successful professional life outside the basketball courts. Dennis Gates will do wonders for the tigers.
The results Mizzou Basketball produced in 22/23 confirms what these two gentlemen believe is true. They have set the program up for future success. I can see their expertise will impress recruits and fans now and in the future. The Mizzou Basketball program is set up for consistent winning! Miz!!

Love how he dropped the nba players they recruited to FSU. St Louis and Missouri has so much top tier talent that goes else where. They have to get that home grown talent. #MIZ
I look forward to Mizz being competitive. Illinois is recruiting at a high level and is starting to pull away in the border war game.
