getting those forest heavy spawns with vengir is nice. I like getting T0 warrior, then rushing to forestry T4 so then i can ramp my economy at a somewhat ok rate.

He thought the warrior might die if he took the city, but the warrior would survive with 1 hp if Elyrion's warrior attacked it after he captured the city. Under normal circumstances, GullYY's warrior would die. However, the defense bonus given by cities to most units means that a 5 hp warrior can survive an attack from another 5 hp warrior with 1 hp. Thus, GullYY would have gotten the city a turn earlier. For those who say he was afraid of units in the fog, healing his warrior would not change the outcome of a exchange if Elyrion had a unit out of sight but within attacking range of the city. (such as a Polytaur or warrior)
YES! Vengir power! so underrated! edit: while you where playing I relised a mistake you made. You went for the forestry route witch is the 3rd best route to take. the farming route and mining are both better and more reliable. Just in case you do this agian!
In his case, and especially since he was really close to his opponent, forestry was better. He also ended the game pretty fast so it doesn't matter. However, you are right that mines and farms are more consistent. Personally, I prefer the farming route as Vengir, especially on larger maps where I have time to get a decent amount of villages and techs.
forestry is by far the best route for vengir. If your spawn allows for it, you should be rushing forestry on T3 or T4 (i usually delay capturing villages just to get forestry bc it's that important)
Honestly ik u dont like Vengir but they're really good for early game sweeps. Swordsmans do a lot of damage, and if the enemies don't have ready defenders or ranged units, it's an easy win.

I love Vengir, but I prefer Xin Xi. Vengir is fun on smaller maps. I love it when I spawn next to someone and rush them with my swordsmen.
