I need to hear the boyfriend's story, before i side with her. Sometimes the real crazy people are the one who writes break up songs and constantly have the need publicly share their problems on social media, seeking for validation.
I'm willing to bet that things were all honkey dorey before the move and something either happened during the move or shortly after that they broke it off and now she's making it look like he abandoned her after the move.
Its definitely a sad story. Assuming her side of the story is fully accurate. A few things: If you watch some of her follow ups on the story, she was on the level of obsession with him. I think people are right in that he never intended to move away WITH her, but she insisted. He has likely been trying to break up with her for a long time and she just would not accept it, in fact in one of her follow ups she even said "I NEVER SHOULD HAVE LET HIM BREAK UP WITH ME" Uhhh. He also paid for her move to Florida, which, I guess she didn't want to move back to LA? Maybe couldn't find a place there? Who knows. People seem to think HE didn't bring HER on the family trip, but theres a good chance SHE didn't want to go on the trip, or that his family didn't want her to go on the trip. She included some clips where she screams at him for something and it sounds pretty close to verbal abuse. Anyway there was more going on here than what shes said. I don't think shes as innocent in this as shes letting on. What I see going on here is her being overly obsessed with him and him trying his hardest to let her down easy. Every time he tries to let her down easy she completely freaks out and starts screaming at him and crying. He decides to move back to Texas, maybe out of desperation, maybe his parents suggested he did, and unfortunately she decided to follow once again refusing to take any kind of no as an answer. The letter was his last ditch effort to let her understand, he couldn't tell her himself cause any verbal mention and she'd just start screaming, crying, and freaking out again. What I'm saying is, I think this guy was being held hostage emotionally. Either way, nothing is concrete unless the guy steps forward to give his side of the story, which if hes smart he WON'T do that. These 35+ single women who think men are the enemy of the world are just waiting for the opportunity to rip him to shreds for existing. Regardless of what he says.
It’s called red lighting or crossing the red light he clearly laid boundaries in his own way but she drove through those red lights with a truck huh! It's very one-sided - she's inevitably going to be slightly bitter and present herself as the warm-hearted victim of a heartless dude (maybe ruining his life as it goes viral). Brett slightly assumed that everything she said was gospel and really there should be a big warning on any video about this saying "It's one side of the story, folks!"

Without hearing bretts commentary and going off the clip alone, I'm sensing she absolutely refused to believe it was going south. Guy probably slightly tried to breakup. She was probably delusional about it. He wants to move closer to mom and dad because he realized he doesn't want to grow up yet and thinks he can just physically leave the situation. She still doesn't get the message and thinks they're taking big steps forward in the relationship. Parents probably uninvited her to the "vacation" because it was an intervention for the bf to build up the courage to actually leave her. My cousin kind of went through this exact thing. BF was a daddy's boy and he still wanted to live like he was in college always on the go. He was amazing at every leisure sport(golf, darts, bowling), but had no home management skills. He was hardly ever home, never cooked or cleaned. He also had the pallet a toddler. Didn't like anything green and leafy. I've seen it happen multiple times from stories. the guy just realizes he wants to be kid living in mom and dad's basement again. Some even leave their wife and children to go do that. Don't drag someone else into your trial run of being an actual adult.

One of my biggest rules while dating is that I would not move for someone unless I was married. I was in a long distance relationship for 2 years and now I've been married for more than 3. You never want to completely upend your life for someone who hasn't even committed to you.
It depends on the situation. My ex stole grocery money and used it on drugs and the money she DID use for food she only bought food for herself. Needless to say I only bought food for myself after that.
Lesson for the girlies (and anyone else to whom this may apply). Stop using the word 'partner' to refer to your spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend. It makes your relationship sound like a business arrangement or homosexual.
The truth is I'm my experience, when you know you know, if you find yourself questioning it at all it's not gonna work. The right person should make you feel completely comfortable in yourself, you can both be yourselves and do your own thing and know it won't change their opinion of you.
If he didn’t think they're compatible, then why would he still be with her and let her move in with him? He didn’t want to grow a pair and tell her he wanted to break up beforehand, so he put her in a horribly spot.

My husband and I were together for 3 years and were engaged when we finally moved in together. We took things very slow. We also had big discussions (marriage, kids, finances, etc.) early in the relationship so we knew we weren't wasting each others' time. People need to start having conversations when they're dating. By not asking questions, they're setting themselves up for heartbreak.

The horrible realisation that you're emotionally invested with a sociopath, who would drop you in a heartbeat, without a second thought. Easy to say look out for the flag flags, but sometimes your blindness for that person, ignores and neglects the warning signs. I think the majority of us, at some point have let our heart rule their head and end up taking a very humbling L. Have to learn by picking and vetting someone with a good heart and good values, to avoid being taken for a fool. Easier said than done of course.
OMGoodness this almost mirrors my last relationship before I met my husband! I was dating a Marine and he was transferred from the East Coast to San Diego. He was 25 and I was 24. We had been together for four years at that point. I moved from Boston to San Diego to continue our relationship. We ended up moving in together for almost a year before he got transferred to another duty station about the hours away. I visited him a couple of times and when the topic of marriage finally came up (after being together for 6.5 years at this point), he said he has to ask his dad. Not my bad. HIS DAD. I broke up with him on the spot. The red flags had been there for years, I just chose to ignore them. Always listen to what they show you!
In general, this is why women should be taught to put a ring on it before moving in together/sleeping together. I was not taught that but my daughter sure as heck will be taught that valuable and important lesson
Almost married a man I didn’t live with until we were engaged. We planned it, talked about it, we needed to get married because he was under the dream act. He ended up bringing a girl home to MY apartment lol. My now husband and I moved in together pretty much right away, not planned or talked about it just kinda happened. I did make him keep paying for his apartment he lived in when we first met just as an escape plan just in case. 8 years later we’re married and happy in our little home together. It’s not so much about what you do, but who you do it with.
Something very similar happened to me before I met my now husband. Do NOT move in with a boyfriend. Trust me. I made my husband wait til marriage. We were married later that year! We are now still happily married with two kids. You can trust a man, but if he’s not willing to marry you, than he’s not all in.
This all boils down to another example of what happens when you your bf live together before you are married. He has all the benefits of marriage and none of the responsibilities. Don't live with your bf/gf until you are married. In fact I'm a strong advocate for waiting until you are married to sleep together. I did it back when it wasn't cool. I got lots of grief for it too. But I have been married for 27 years now. I maid my husband work to get me into his bed and it paid off. So much frustration and heart break can be avoided if you start looking for long term commitment in the form of a spouse first.
People refuse to see the red flags because they'd rather be in a relationship no matter what then be alone. They are unwilling to be uncomfortable for any amount of time but unless you step out of your comfort zone you will never grow and change. Nothing will get better unless you try for it.
The real story is that he wanted to move away from her but she was a stalker and tagged along. She offered to pay for the move in order to be able to get him to take her with him. She's the one with the problem and is clearly sociopathic.
Had a boyfriend back in my senior year of college who was going to be moving to Chicago from Minnesota for med school. We had been planning on living together and I’d be working while he was in school. Had put in my notice at my current job and the place I was renting at the time. Was getting close to the time to move out there when I found out his mommy and daddy were paying for his apartment out there and wanted him to live alone. So if I moved out there I’d have to get my own place. Thankfully I was able to take back my notices at my job and apartment and he still tries to get back with me to this day. It’s been more than 10 years and he’s a doctor now but mommy and daddy still make many of his life choices for him.
In my day, we kept a sense of dignity through personal issues of this nature. We did not feel the need to share these kinds of emotional heartbreaking moments.

"You live in LA with your boyfriend"
There, right there, there's where it all went wrong.
I thought the same thing
😅
I need to hear the boyfriend's story, before i side with her. Sometimes the real crazy people are the one who writes break up songs and constantly have the need publicly share their problems on social media, seeking for validation.
True
I'm willing to bet that things were all honkey dorey before the move and something either happened during the move or shortly after that they broke it off and now she's making it look like he abandoned her after the move.
@@Kaboomboo what the heck is honkey dorey ?

Yeah, while there are red flags in the story she told, there were also red flags about the story she told.
It’s called red lighting or crossing the red light he clearly laid boundaries in his own way but she drove through those red lights with a truck huh!
I agree totally with you and if this whole thing was monetised for her on social media she has made a bunch of $ potentially too out of the 60 million views !

We also had big discussions (marriage, kids, finances, etc.) early in the relationship so we knew we weren't wasting each others' time. People need to start having conversations when they're dating. By not asking questions, they're setting themselves up for heartbreak.
Brett totally missed Goldmine with other tiktok of this girl explaining this breakup. The way she talk explained to me why her bf broke up with her with letter.
If you are not married do not do this!!!! I’ve had 2 friends that this has happened to.
What did she do? You have presented one side of the story
Lol there were sooo many signs girl. Take that L😂
A note is actually insane… he did her a favor, she’s much better off
In general, this is why women should be taught to put a ring on it before moving in together/sleeping together.
I was not taught that but my daughter sure as heck will be taught that valuable and important lesson
In all fairness, we're only getting one side of the story here.
As Dr. John Delony would say "behavior is a language". That guy was saying I don't want to be with you.
Writing a song about a breakup and trying paint the dude as the bad guy.....and she's surprised he left her
Almost married a man I didn’t live with until we were engaged.

A whole new generation is learning that actions speak louder than words ...
I bet Brett's Husband is happy she can get all this out on youtube lol. Its like picking and choosing which conversatinos to hear lol
Something very similar happened to me before I met my now husband. Do NOT move in with a boyfriend. Trust me. I made my husband wait til marriage. We were married later that year! We are now still happily married with two kids. You can trust a man, but if he’s not willing to marry you, than he’s not all in.
This the epitome of not taking it well
This all boils down to another example of what happens when you your bf live together before you are married.
"Weird Al" Yankovic would be proud 😂

Weird Al and Taylor Swift have talent. This girl has none.

@@lealsofi No, it wasn't.
How do we know he didn't say it was over a bunch of times and she wouldn't take no for an answer....
Would never date someone who is on TikTok.
Not even once.
Things could always have been worse. So glad she had someone to run to afterwards.
In my day, we kept a sense of dignity through personal issues of this nature. We did not feel the need to share these kinds of emotional heartbreaking moments.
Please please please sing an episode of this. 😅
Brett- I listened to you when I was pregnant with my son. He is one week old today! He was being a bit fussy in his sleep, but I played this video and he settled right down 😂
