Absolutely. I didn't know why some were sort of looking over him with Jones-- I felt alone when saying "this guy has a different build and style than any of them, and Jones may find it awkward. I knew if it went extreme grappling Gus would have a problem with Jones, but starting out... basically it's one of the fights I called well. Never an expert, but since around 1997 or so, my friends and other bar stool experts (Actually I wrestled since 6 years old in the 1970's so I wasn't exactly green about fighting) noticed I was saying some of the things the fighters should do BEFORE Rogan or others were saying it, and sometimes when they didn't say it at all and missed the details. I'd like to see him back. It would be epic if Jones could win one more at heavyweight or maybe a couple fights- but I think he might be taking the weight gain a little too far though, and should let himself work at speed and strategy from here to the next fight. To beat a prepared Francis, and even Stipe and Cyril, Jon might be better off NOT being too heavy, and work his old tried and true recipe of being unpredictable. His base (mostly folk style) and early work kept him out of trouble most of the time, and I think the general pubic overlooks how safe he could keep himself when he really wanted to. With the big boys- yes the hits will be worse, but they can't move like he does around 220. At 230 0r 240, that might be nonsense for his frame. Yes it's nice to have power to match those true heavyweights, and Jon looks huge, but honestly many light-heavyweights would school many heavyweights if they simply didn't cut weight and went in natural around 215 to 225. It happens in other competition all the time. That size human can often be the most dangerous of all.

I love Alexander and I love his confidence and he remains true to the sport. Jon Jones played with it. it was a game to him because he let drugs interfere with his livelihood.
