Oxford BROOKES vs Penn Island Challenge cup final 2023 cox recording

2nd of July 2023 - “what a day”
A massive thank you to everyone who made this lifetime dream possible!
I started coxing in 2015 back at Pangbourne College, growing up following the legacy of brookes coxes set by Rory Copus and Harry Brightmore in the Temple and Ladies Plate.
Finally making it to brookes in 2020 I was desperate to follow my dream of winning Henley Royal Regatta as part of this phenomenal team.
Selected to work with the womens 1st VIII for Duisburg (1:54 - 2:25) I knew there and then how lucky I was to get this opportunity and who I really wanted to be coxing at Henley.
This race was a heart stopping experience from start to finish, a great example of both the physiology and trust which binded this crew together in order to come back from 3/4 a length at the barrier. Coming through them up to remenham rhythm before a final stand to the line.
The greatest women’s eights race at Henley I have ever seen … just be lucky it was mine ;)

A long and bumpy but hugely rewarding journey behind this but I was hugely lucky to do this with these 8 amazing women! Made this for them, heres to a lifelong friendship.

Great stuff and I have tears in my eyes now. Wish I knew what all those phrases mean and I guess a cox has a sore throat at the end of the race. Glad that you overcame the disappointment of 2022 Cameron and we (Toby Lassen's parents) remember talking to you in the cafe area then at Henley when you explained what happened.
