I live in a small town where almost everybody has a nickname. A friend who is a truck driver goes by the name "Newton John" because every time he is in his truck the music playing is ONJ .
Never heard of this song till a new movie called “the holdovers.” It’s a beautiful song, particularly by the man who wrote it in 1972. Apparently his version was never released in the US which is a shame because it’s a great song! ❤️
What a sweet orchestration. And even though the song repeats itself four times it´s not boring at all. Great production, well written and extremely well performed.
The part I love is that, somehow, when at the passage "That's why I can't love you now" those horns all come drifting by, it fills my mind with visions of majestically sweeping mountains and beautiful forests of the open world. ;)
It doesnt repeat, actually the last verse indicates that the lyricist actually means they have been Crying, not Laughing , and Loving (in an unrequited way)
I hate that the industry turned away from vocalists in favor of showgirls. Livy is such a wonderful singer. I'm so happy that she's realized and gone back to roots
@@jdbarry31 The Voice is about selling music. Nobody cares about voices or the people singing. The music industry could be full of talents but you cannot put 100 Ariana Grandes under contract because you can only sell an arena once.
Una voce così dolce come quella di Olvia non esiste ❤💯 , Inconfondibile soave melodia di un Angelo, grazie per ogni singola emozione che ci hai regalato e che continui a regalarci ❤🙏😇
Actually this was written and first performed by Labi Siffre in 1972. His version is simpler and he has a great voice as well. That being said, Livvy's version is a fantastic and very well instrumented rendition. Her voice always brings me back to 12 and my first unobtainable crush. She is a beautiful soul.
Beautiful, strong, sexy, vulnerable, the whole package......proof that a woman doesn't need to strip down to be feminine and can sing her heart out without being over dramatic.

Absolutely Beautiful ❤
Loved this song when I was a little girl and adored Olivia
Such a beautiful song
Olivia has the most beautiful voice

Labi Siffre should be given full credit as the songwriter and original version! ONJ lovely!
Another great song from this album. One of my personal favorites.

@@highpath4776 I meant the music, not the lyrics ;-)
This is one of my favorite ONJ songs. It’s simple but tells a story.
Great production always from multi talented John Farrar .
Like not loving an angel like Olivia. She will always be in my heart ♥. Thank you for your timeless music Olivia. I feel very sad.
It is easy for me to love Olivia since she has such a wonderful voice. This album and Come on Over are my some of my all time favorites.

Crazy huh? I find there's never been anything like her.

SIFFRE classic
Good, wholesome music!
Olivia.......was the woman nearly everyone I knew had a teenage crush over, she was, and still very beautiful
Very nice song. I remember this song 😢. She was always genuine.
Olivia and Agnetha look like 2 angels with a voice like an angel
Nowhow as good as Lability Siffre!
Should have been a single in its day. Timeless....
too strong for the writer Labbi Siffre, but great as an album track
Beautiful... RIP ONJ 🎵❤️🙏
Beautiful single
Labi Siffre (not Randy Edelman) is the composer of this song and performed this song as the opening act for Livy's first Japan tour.
🙏❤️❤️🙏 beautiful lyrics.. 😊
Un Angelito cantando
😘❤🇨🇱
The "real ONJ", before Grease and the 8O's.
Así cantan los ángeles.
❤❤❤
ME TOO!!
It's a beautiful song . But it is sad and lonely . Shes got hurt so many times she's afraid to take a chance on love .
She married a very nice man Amazon John and they are very happy
I would like to thank everybody for enjoying my comments . It makes me feel so good .
@@CristinavdfV I think he means she plays the role of such a person very well, as noted too by her as an actor in Grease and Xanadu
@@highpath4776 Yes that could be true but in her own life it took her long before finding true love.
♥️♥️⭐⭐🙏
