Use this OVERPOWERED Setting to WIN more Dogfights in Battlefield 5!

- So I was definitely against using this, ever since it was released but finally I've caved in and I'll be showing you guys how to use and abuse decouple pilot freelook.
This video will show it being used in both the BF109 G6 and Spitfire VA. When used properly it's hard to lose sight of the enemy plane.

I love how nobody is using AA guns ever but for me i can't get a dogfight without someone mapping me with it
dude FR! i cant stand them. every time i get into fjell to have some dogfights, some AA camper is ruining the fun for everyone and stealing kills. it sucks

That one dude on German base with the AA gun is so irritating, invincible from infantry because he’s so far back, and taking down planes in 5 seconds because of how easy it is to aim with it
Nah, me and my homies on the Germans side pass over each other in a AA to get an enemy off our tails.
Like you said, one may watch dozens of dogfighting videos but it all comes down to practice
I want to practice but the practice arena only gives me 2 planes and those two planes I never use

First thing you will learn is that leadboards != skill. Tons of top leaderboard pilots boast their rank, but then they get in a 1v1 with a real dogfighter and get 20-0'ed.

@@SilkOCE Hey Silk, from my own experience using Shadowplay in the past, I'm somewhat sure that the issue is simply Shadowplay itself.
To be fair, this knowledge was acquired years ago and I really hope that it doesnt have this exact issue anymore, would be terrible tbh, so I genuinly hope that Iam wrong.
I was able to fix my problem by simply using any other recording software. :)

You can use look left and right for dogfighting for hardcore really well its almost as effective as 3rd person

@@SilkOCE yeah you should definitely use the rear cam instead but there is a blind spot where you can't see them when you look up or use third person rear cam.
I also use it when farming so I can see the objective the entire match so I don't miss any targets
God this game is so cinematic in dogfights. Especially those up close engagements 6:36

The BF1 guys are going to scoff at decouple freelook. You can have great awareness with the radar as well and since there's no way to ECM in this game, it's pretty broken. But maybe you can't get the best perks by going the radar path.
I was a god pilot in bf1, in bf5 however its like a whole different playing field im so bad😂

Cheesy?? 😂 I only fly in first person with decoupled. I thought flying in 3rd person with a wide FOV was the cheesy method. I do appreciate the tip on cutting. I struggle with predicting sometimes.
thats what im saying. being able to turn ur head and look in 1st person is cheesy, but being able to look around outside ur plane in 3rd person isnt? lol

@@KintVerbql Yeah honestly with experience you don't really need it but in Australia a lot of hour servers disable third person making it very strong
I miss this game so much...something about this game I just can't explain
I play on PS4 and I used to have the free look decoupled on BF4, because on that game you could actually use the controllers motion detection for it. Didn't have to press any buttons to look around, just tilt the controller the way you wanted to look. There were settings to adjust the sensitivity and deadzone of the feature, which made it easier to use. Sadly DICE didn't implement that feature in the following games, and using buttons on a controller to look around is too awkward imo.

Great vid mate. Would be good to post up a video on defence manoeuvres to give other BFV pilots some options. Too many just resort to braking which is so stupid. Worst tactic in the game imo.

How did you do this on Xbox since freelook is bound to a stick? Like can you still maneuver while freelooking?
@@Sketchy_Adventure it’s the same why in the video but no custom buttons it’s a little tricky but if you’re a good pilot you can get use it sorry if that doesn’t make sense

I liked the video bro, good stuff, i would like you to make a video about the pacific planes, yesterday i got a guy that could do some crazy maneuvers and always ended up behind me, as almost stopped the plane and changed directions so fast that he instantly got behind me, i never managed to escape from him :(, don't recall his name

It's a shame that I just don't see the point in dogfighting in BFV any more.
It was already a case of start game, own skies, have 5 kids sit in AA for the rest of the game but now they have the 1tap at 600m flieg. It's just rocket spam from near resups and turning easy dogfights only for them to run to flak the moment you hit a single shot.

How do you aim while in the cockpit view? I wish I could just hold down the free look button and still be able to turn. I like to aim while inside the cockpit view and I use my mouse to do so. This setting takes away aiming with mouse from cockpit view.

It can but it will be rather hard to get used to it as you dont have a lot of buttons to deal with

You have Q assigned for look left and for the commo rose. How does that work? I frequently use the commo rose if I'm the squad leader and I'm flying. Which Q setting takes over?
I recently unbound the commo rose in planes

I need help. I never win dogfights because the other guy always out turns me, or I get nailed by AA. Every time I get behind an enemy, they always shake me and then somehow gets behind me and kills me instantly.

I don't find it much harder now that I learned freelooking but it doesn't feel as good to fly in first person and id much rather it just be vanilla settings.

I think DICE went a little overboard there with the energy mechanics. It's not as hard as speed control and it just makes things unfun. So, it doesn't increase the skill gap and once you get skilled, you start having less fun.

I noticed that both your rear view and zoom are on the right button of the mouse. Doesn't it cause any glitch?
Nah because you can't rear view when you're zooming so they don't collide at all

Silk made me want to learn to dogfight and massacre ground targets in planes. I was trash at first, now I pretty much own the skies in lobbies. (the OP AA can suk it tho)

You can do it while flying so you can look without having to stop controlling the plane

@@louieruiz2000 if you watched the video you'd know that I bind space to pitch up. That allows me to turn indefinitely. I barely need to move my mouse.

A lot of us figure out it’s him pretty quickly and then set up the fliegers. He’s way above almost every other Australian pilot, I was the spitfire dude on that Narvik clip and I can tell you all I was doing was trying to defend and had no real idea how I was going to attack him back. Btw air radar went a long way as to how I survived so long.
@@Jerram89 appreciate the kind words but yeah it becomes hard to just play a relaxed game when a lot of people recognise me and go out of their way to kill me. I wish there was an anonymous streamer mode and I'd just use that tbh

1. Plane dominance, mostly the sheer amount of damage you tend to do in a short amount of time
2. There’s also Knispel playing on the server. So maybe get him to change his name too.

@@SilkOCE Yeah fair enough. That's pretty crap about admins. I mean who cares if you dominate it just means other people have to get gud, and the game has pretty good plane counters: personally I think one shot fliegers shouldn't even be a thing.

I dont think maneuvers even matter because there not a lot of proper physics in the game its just about who turns better and know how to handle a situation before its too late

@@SilkOCE this!, a lot of switches/hooks wouldn't pretty much not work against a good dogfighter who uses decoupled freelook, 3rd cam and backwards camera constantly, to give himself near perfect awareness, just limits what you can do in dogfighting against good pilots

What is your win/lose dogfight ratio?
For fair dogfights in bf5 (no interruptions and neither of us sneak up on each other) it's probably almost 100%. I can't remember ever losing a dogfight lol. Just in general though with all the bullshit in the game it's probably 95%

@@titanicswimteam9833 I think what helps me is my awareness, timing and understanding of energy in this game. I'll make a video on dogfighting soon because while it's easier in battlefield 5, there's a few different skills that were introduced

I've heard the south americans are insane. To be fair though, no top tier dogfighters are on Battlefield 5. There are guys on BF3 and BF4 that would destroy everyone on BF5.

I don't get it, what is overpowered about it? People already abuse the third person camera and have for years. Anybody playing a flight sim that isn't a total noob is using headtracking to look around at all times. It's a basic necessity for dogfighting in first person unless you wanna give the player enemy location indicators like Ace Combat. Hell, even American Truck Sim feels like it's not a real game without it.
Good players have developed awareness where they can almost always track the enemy jet without seeing it. This feature just removed the necessity for that skill
