What a journey! I love my KLR and have done 4 two week off-road trips that have totalled just short of 10k miles. That being said I do always try to carry parts that may fail if they are small parts. I will definitely add the hub seal to my little supply. Thanks for the journey.
Thanks! The seal didn't actually go out suddenly. The wheel spacers were loose inside the seal for a while before I started having bearing issues. And this change happened at 31k miles. Having a set of bearings and seals on hand probably isn't a bad idea if you intend to put a lot of miles on. You'll definitely need them eventually. I haven't added a spare seal and bearing to my emergency kit yet though. I just have a spare set in the garage. Maybe if I take off on another 10k + mile trip I'll take one with me. Idk yet.
🤣. Thanks for watching! I ended my trip from Alaska to Belize in Escondido last season. Escondido had storage units available for a third the price of San Diego where I flew home from that seasons end. So that's why there specifically. 🤣
Do you carry a fuel pump with you? I’m getting myKLR ready after I beat this cancer for some long rides. I have heard even the 23 and 24s. Have had some fuel pump issues. I am just wondering if anybody packs a spare fuel pump with this.
They recalled some of them. Mine wasn't on the recall list. I have carried a rebuild kit from 3dcycle parts for 48,000 miles and not needed it yet. Good luck kicking that cancer! ❤️
@ thank you for your best wishes on my recovery, that’s what I was thinking about doing and practicing at least getting to it in the garage in case I have to do a roadside repair. You long distance KLR guys are inspiration to me.
Props for making that journey! Team KLR650!
Thanks!
Great video series 👌
Thanks for watching!😊
very cool!
Thanks!

Love your MacGyver style repair skills!
Thank you! 😂
the Tim's cush drive,,,nice thinking....thanks for the journey
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks!
My friend Steve told me about using shims to tighten it up. The coffee cup seemed like the fastest emergency fix. 😊
excellent that improvised repair
Thanks 👍
What an adventure...
It was a great one!
Good for you!
Thanks!
Hey bud, picked up an adventure bike. Recovering from surgery but I'll be around all next summer if you want to hit anything near delta. Former 1D40!!
@p.f.r.7190 Sweet! Good luck on your recovery, and we will definitely have to meet up for a ride!
I would've driven it around the block a few times so the mileage was 14141.
Would've been cooler. 😂😊
Is it scarier to drive past bears on a motorcycle than in a car? 😅 That's so cool to see them that up close though!
Not really. It is a little worrisome when a line of cars stop in the middle of the road in front of me to watch the bears. I don't care to stop. 😂
@@ak.klr650 Yea, I suppose if you're not stopping then it's not much of a danger! That line of cars blocking you would be a problem though 😅
@amiemorey I could get so much cooler video if I did stop. But I'm not willing to risk it. Takes too much to take off again with a phone in hand. 😂
@@ak.klr650 💯😂😂😬🐻
Pretty soon the bears will start to wave at you just like in the old cartoons. I Enjoyed your 3 part series. What led you to Escondido, Ca?
🤣. Thanks for watching!

No problem! Hope to find you on the road one day soon!
What the hell , kawasaki that's worse than the do hickey 😢
@@frankpowell2178 I was at 31,000 miles. I probably could've avoided it getting that bad with a little fore knowledge.
