A sheep skin seat cover and kidney belt are must-haves for long days on the bike. Impressive distances in some pretty grim conditions. If I had a choice I would ride a Suzuki V-Strom 650 or Honda TransAlp 750 on such a long haul, much smoother engines and easier cruising.

I live in Alaska and this is one of the things I want to do before I can’t ride anymore work is more important right now I fly back and forth to Denver every two weeks Alaska is the most beautiful place on earth in my opinion

I was actually at my desk, planning the logistics for my September moto adventure, when this video popped up on UA-cam. I was fretting over whether 4000 miles on a Versys X300 was doable in 16 days... And here you are doing more than double that on a KLR, in a day less. I think I'll be just fine. Thanks for sharing!

Well that settles it, I am gonna have to get a KLR.

I have to reminisce here about my 2015 trip, 7200 mi Cali to Alaska and back, on the mighty KLR650. It was the perfect machine for that trip and for that time in my life. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I have ridden from Dallas to Fairbanks twice now. Over 10k miles. First time on a new 88 gs100 Beemer. 2nd time on a Africa Twin last year. 17 days first time 28 days 2nd time. It is an amazing feat on any bike but on the KLR that’s really hard riding. Good job. What memories you will carry with you. On top of all those miles you have photos.

I converted my klr650 to tubeless...much easier to repair flats...

Ear plugs and wind protection can cut fatigue

Hippo hands are very effective at keeping hands warm...

Excellent Job!

You took the long way going from Kalispell To West Yellowstone. A faster way is to go down highway 83 through Seely Lake down to Helena then it is straight south to West Yellowstone.

Those miles are crazy on any bike even on a goldwing I would need a chiropractor and massage at the end of each of those days great video.

so if I understand you right, you was running 65 to 70 MPH on the road. The reason I ask is because I keep mine around 60 to keep the vibration down.

I use the peel on visor film for anti fog. I ride year round it works great!

Muncho lake is incredible tried to explain to friends how the water glows like neon lights under it.
