Your video is fun and very useful for people as me, just an amateur weekend shooter. I just bought a Zf last month and have learn a lot from you of using the speed light of camera, combining zf with manual len. Please make more off camera flash out door with Zf and speed light.
I've learned a ton from flash from you. I grabbed the Angler softbox recently as well as some Godox flashes. Thanks for all the awesome, straight-to-the-point stuff man. Appreciate you!
Love the simplicity and elegance of these shoots. Least complicated with stunning results. I to have been using my godox in ttl more.. especially with combining ambient exposures. I do think ill pickup that softbox for more flexibilty. Thanks
Love this video, i dont see many who use the ttl function and always insist on manual control. TTL make everything so easy.. I use ttl off camera often and i usually have to dial back about a stop when shooting through a modifier but the results are amazing..
New to the channel, but I enjoyed this video. Just a question… Were the photos you showed of the model during the video straight out of camera, or were they edited prior to adding to your video? Great video, and thanks. Thinking abt getting this setup for myself!!
Good color! I have non pro version and its little green. Far form perfect. Shoot with R3 and TTL works better with Canon own flash EL-5. But Godox is still very usable. Good work! Like your videos. You are relax and professional. No game changers here!
Thanks for posting. Pictures look great. I noticed you did not use backlighting in this case. What criteria do you use to determine the use of backlighting? Personal preference?
This was just testing the flash so I chose to use a single flash to only show its capabilities. But I often use only one - depending on if I need separation.
I have a Canon R3 and have never been able to get HSS to work on any of my mirrorless bodies in TTL mode with other Godox transmitters. Before the X3 NONE of my units would do so, unless you set the flash to Manual Mode. Now with the X3 everything is working 100% of the time with the factory-installed 1.16 firmware. I'd suggest updating your flash firmware though. I have two AD-300Pro, one AD200Pro, and two V-860II units.
Thanks for an informative video. What is the size of the Angler softbox? How does the flash perform if you mount it directly on the camera with a diffuser?
I just got my v1pro for my fuji. I am wondering if you can list the projects names or links to the items that connected to your vr1 pro flash stand. I am planning to get into studio photography. I have been doing street photography as hobby for nearly 20 years but totally new into studio photography. Would just the vr1 pro be enough as my main light for more than one person picture for studio? Thank you
@@kaskoPhotoso one of these and the vr1 pro flash attached to this on stand should be strong enough for like 3-4 people family picture? Thank you once again.
sorry unrelated but what strap are you using? and is it fair to assume you like it? I have a peak design atm but tbh it's a bit overkill so Im thinking about getting something a bit more classic.
When do you use the parabolic diffuser and when you use the regular octagon softbox ? The softbox that you are using here, does it have have a beauty dish built in?
A true parabolic is a parabolic shaped unit without front diffusion… diffusion on any parabolic shaped modifier just makes it a soft box. And a reflector inside of a modifier spreads light, it does not make it a beauty dish. The beauty dish inside of the soft box is just a marketing tool. I do not use reflector plates inside of soft boxes- they aren’t my favorite. Remember, most of those keywords they throw out there are just marketing tools. A true “parabolic“ actually controls light and the only one that I’ve ever seen and used that worked was over $4000.
Does anyone know for Canon version the high speed sync which hace an issue with older version does pro version fix the issue wil the high speed sync work with TTL now?
Hey, have even shooting with the Nikon Zf and noticing a little green fringing, specially when editing in Camera Neutral color (which is my favourite). Any way to counterbalance this?

I appreciate you for watching and the kind words. That’s why I do this.
Very nice shots and helpful information on the V1. Thanks for sharing!
Very welcome. Thank you for watching
Beautiful images. I have the V1pro and agree with you on the features. I do like the added fill flash when it is mounted on the camera.
I love that feature - missed it on the newer flashes. Glad they brought it back.

Really nice light! Great shots and a beautiful model! 😊
Thank you
,,,still waiting for our X3 (pre-ordered 3 months ago, Strobepro). Your exposure adjustments details were VERY helpful!!! Thank you.
Very interesting and informative video! Looks like both the V1Pro and the X3 are winners. Many thanks!
Great video. I just purchased the V1 Pro but haven't had a chance to use it yet but this has me excited about trying it out!
Man,
I learn so much from these series! 😲
Beautiful work! 😍
Thank you. Appreciate you watching

I use manual most of the time - but for those times when I need the convenience of TTL, it’s nice to know what your flash can do in that mode.
I am always shoot in TTL mode. It is working very well.
Thanks for great informative content for a first time flash buyer. Quick question, -0.3 exposure comp in camera or on the flash?

I love this video. I was confused about when you say you were at “-.3” are you talking exposure compensation?
Thanks!
Flash compensation (in TTL mode)

Its not working HSS

This was really helpful. Thank ya!
Great Video!! Guess I'll have to pick up the V1 Pro!
Great video! What is the set up for mounting V1 pro to the light stand? Are you using the adapter?
I use the MagMod unit. It works great
great photos

With a larger white umbrella, it will cover you.
@@kaskoPhoto could you link to one that you would recommend? Thank you

No more green cast with new V1 Pro model?
No it has been corrected
Thanks for the vid. What size is that Angler octa?
I believe it’s the 24”
sorry unrelated but what strap are you using? and is it fair to assume you like it? I have a peak design atm but tbh it's a bit overkill so Im thinking about getting something a bit more classic.
It’s just the standard leather strap. Nothing special. I like simple.

Hi, could you please give me a link to buy this softbox? Thanks
I have one for sale at: www.johnkasko.com/store
I am a little confused by the use of the word 'strobe'. Can you explain its meaning here please. I take it to mean a flashing light.
Yes Flash - Strobe same thing
@@kaskoPhoto strobes tend to be studio style lights not speedlites like the Godox V1Pro. The Godox AD400Pro is a strobe
Which is the model of the Angler Softbox?
24”
Does anyone know for Canon version the high speed sync which hace an issue with older version does pro version fix the issue wil the high speed sync work with TTL now?
Would this system work for the Sony Alpha cameras? I have a sony flash but I'd love a way to be able to trigger if with off camera transmitter.
They do have a Sony version
Have you tested it with the A9III in TTL, 😊 no HSS and high frame rates up to 120fps, up to 1/16000, f/1 .8, ISO 250?
I have not. Only on the Nikon Zf
@@kaskoPhoto ok thanks.
How to connect them x3 & v1
What’s the biggest difference of Color renditions between sony flashes hvl n the new godox v1 pro ??
Sony is still my favorite for skin tone. It’s a clear winner in my opinion
Does the trigger work on the non pro V1?
Yes.
You use LR or PS? For this shoot?
Lightroom
Why you don’t use your Leica anymore in video ?
I use my Leica for all my commercial work- most cannot be videoed for UA-cam.
@@kaskoPhoto ok I miss watching you use it

pls provideo camera setting for the images
Godox orih=nally called it the Nano but then ran into trademark issue with a laser projector company so renamed it the X3.
Thanks for that info. I noticed they did add the “X” in front of it XNano
Is that the V1 Pro that has the detachable front flash? Or the V1 Pro that preceded the most recent Godox V1?
Yes - they are one in the same
